One set of images made available by Rense.com shows trailer after trailer carrying these new DHS and FEMA armored fighting vehicles, complete with machine gun slots. They’re labeled with the usual backward American flag and the title, ‘Homeland Security’.

I don't know about the ammo containers, but I sure know what the backward flag means.

It means "we do not represent the United States of America".

Why do they feel that they cannot use the real US flag?

did it ever occur to anyone that perhaps they are not transporting STOCKED containers? perhaps they are empty, and they will be put wherever they're going, and stocked later

the vehicles appear to be modified versions of something in the international maxxpro line...what the hell does homeland security need with MRAPs? there are no minefields, or IEDs here..

I think it is really quite simple. The dollar is going to crash because the gov has helped make it worthless, 11+ million "immigrants" are going to become legal and continue to take jobs and Obama is going to begin confiscating our guns (for our protection). So of course they will have to protect themselves from the people. The people are the enemy of this government. We may get "out of control" when we are choked of our "food" so they will have to "suppress" us. Again...probably for our own good.

Just a thought from a non-US citizien.
Maybe they are preparing for a war against the drug cartels in Mexico and fear, that all the gangs and drug distributors may rise up in the southern states. From what I heard and read, the gangs are heavily armed, know their turf and would become very hostile. This could explain all the extra ammo, the MRAPs with customs&immigration, the military exercise in Florida/Texas, the proposal for the illegal to become US citizen, when they behave peacefully for X months etc

But hey, if you want to find more malicious reasons, it's up to you

Perhaps a idea might be for someone to visit one of these containers with tools to open it and a video camera and record the grand opening ceremony and see whats inside and if it is stuffed full of guns and ammo then that someone won't need to visit the gun store for ammo for a very long time

Agreed - The bad Mexicans are a real problem for the US, so my first thought is to the influx of Mexican gang(sters). They are here in the millions and are wreaking havoc in all major cities. The government is likely going to clean up the immigration problem once and for all allowing the good working people to stay then there will be a DHS purge of all the gangsters and it will be a war as evidenced by what we witness in Mexico (and the border areas) now.

The first picture is of what we call "Conexes" and we have them all over the place where I am and where I am currently stationed. Never have I seen ammo stored or transported in these containers. Mainly just normal gear to include computers...tools...tents...a wide variety of items but never ammo as they are not approved for that purpose. The amount of ammo that could be stored in one of those would be an enormous hazard and the government would not ship it that way.

Not saying its not the case but I have never witnessed it nor would it be a safe way to transport and believe they are all about going by the book....as for the vehicles they look standard army to me and most likely on the way to a port for shipment to one of the many active areas where we are engaged at the moment.

Can I ask how you came to the conclusion those are ammo conexes?

I went to 55B School before going to delta school which the MOS has changed since but I have never seen ammo conexes nor have we ever stored them like that without placards and to top it all off where are the security personnel for transport of said ammo? BTW 55B was ammunition specialist that would be the ones responsible for shipping such items.

I bet they are either empty or have equipment in them. I have seen plenty of those. They look new so I bet they are empty. Motor pool and all supply uses them. They are nothing but storage containers.

They are called TRICON 2 storage containers all purpose.

www.cmci.com...

I know for a fact it is against regs to transport ammo in that fashion.

There were not even any locks or chains on the doors. Way to go this is what I call fear mongering. Not even a good attempt either.

I agree here....I was 11B...infantry...and every time I was deployed each platoon got to stuff pretty much whatever they could fit in 2 connex boxes each...with all the units deployed right now...id imagine you would need 1000s to replace the ones that have been sitting in the desert for the last decade.

Where is the proof its ammo?

The drug cartels are getting to big for their pants, they are going to hinder Obama's Immigration plan. So he has our CIA form a CIA affiliate within the High Ranking of the Mexican Government. That way internationally we can claim for the good of the peoples. The movements of supplies and troop exercises our to squash any uprising from these Mexican Drug Terrorist.

And by default , we can sell this to the American public as protection against the Drug Cartels and other Gangs.

It's a Win Win situation for the der Führer and his Regime. It's a brilliant move to say the least. First they have to get the majority of the Latino's on our side before he can implement his Socialism regime change. The best way to get the Latino's on our side would be to deal a crushing blow to the Drug cartel's and other gang affiliates.

Make no mistake it will be a crushing blow, the U.S. Marines our the most seasoned baddest group of Warriors on the planet. Once they get the go ahead, it is completely Over for the Drug Cartels. Just have to create loopholes to keep the International community off our backs.

Then the majority of the people will praise the action of the der Führer, which will then make it an easier transition/acceptance of the new Socialist society. The United Socialist States of the America's.

Making sure your weapons are where they need to be, doesn't include trying to illegally remove them.

Also, spreading these ammo crates around, could also be handy resupply points for invaders.

I agree with my fellow grunts, the connex's we had we used to stuff squad gear in for deployment or troop movements. You can't store ammo in those for transport, ESP if it gets real hot.

If you zoom in on the picture you will notice they don’t even have locks on them. We used connex's to store some small arms ammo overseas but they were tractor trailer size and because of regulations you need minimum space between pallets but they were never used for transport. Those things have to be empty seriously no locks.

55D here if you see me running you better not be far behind.

Or the arming of American by the Feds might just have something to do with this, which if true, would be far more serious than the Mexican issue. There would be a race war and maybe the Mexicans would even join in - against us of course.

As others have said ammo is rarely/if-ever transported in connex containers. The lack of security, locks, and warnings on them also indicate they are probably not full of ammunition. Placards have to be used past a certain weight, and if you were going to put ammo in a connex box, due to the hazards of being unable to secure it inside the box, it would likely be full to the brim, which would certainly increase the weight.

Not to mention in rapid deployment it would be harder to get a wooden/metal box of ammo out of a connex container than off a standard pallet.

Side note about the large quantities of .40 purchased: The .40 caliber (also known as 40 S&W) is the standard carry round for all U.S. law enforcement. Standard police issue, Homeland Security, standard FBI carry, etc. There are other rounds carried in specialized circumstances, but the .40 is the standard. Training and qualifying, and any additional exercises, eats through a tremendous amount.

Some numbers to play with. An average day at the range for me with my PPQ in .40 is 300 rounds. Keep multiplying that by the number of people involved in large training exercises and that number grows quickly. I don't know if the qualifications differ from state to state or organization to organization, but an LEO friend of mine says he puts an easy 500 through his issued Glock if they do a training/drills day.

Perhaps another LEO or similar could chime in? My point is pretty simple on the quantity of ammunition purchased: you go through a lot very quickly even by a single person, add in a few departments worth of people and you can easily start sending 20,000 plus a day downrange. Also, the military standard issue sidearm is a 9mm, so it likely isn't going to National Guard or state-bound military.

Edit: I know it would still take a -large- number of people to eat through a billion rounds, but if you figure some are for training, exercises, active and future, plus deployment to other facilities, and then the general rule of having more rather than less - it doesn't seem too unusual.

While a billion or what ever rounds sounds a lot you have to consider the fact of how the system works...now each officer has lets say 3 boxes allocated to them so that's 150 per employee and there's probably 150,000 which means there's 2.25 million rounds directly allocated to staff but since they'll need supplies you can imagine that the site depot will have enough to 3-4 times what each individual will need directly available and that's before you consider the higher levels of warehousing and suddenly the numbers are in the silly region plus you have to allow for the fact that the DHS has an offer on buying the ammo which means it can buy up to the 450 million etc at a fixed price but if it doesn't need it then it doesn't send an order down the line that month

Supposedly the DHS response to the massive ammo purchase is that they're saving money buy buying in bulk.
