As usual our socialist leaders are pushing more gun laws on the law biding citizens of this once patriotic state

Among the many things our legislators are proposing:
•10 round magazines loaded with more than 7 rounds, punishable by more than two years in jail.
•Magazines containing more than 10 rounds, punishable by up to 10 years in jail.
•Potential confiscation of lawfully purchased long guns and high capacity magazines (greater than 10 round capacity).
•A complete ban on semi-automatic rifles with certain cosmetic features. (AR type rifles)
•Up to 2 ½ years in jail for receiving more than 1 gun or magazine in a 30-day period.
•Mandatory large capacity guns storage at gun clubs instead of in home.
•Lawful private sales recorded on FA-10 forms will no longer be allowed.
•Ban "high power" ammunition. (there's been no definition provided as to what that is)
•Expanding local licensing authorities discretion to deny or restrict licenses to all guns including FID cards.
•Mandatory insurance for all firearms owners. (see link for more info)
•New proposed sales tax aimed at firearms/ammo purchase. (this has not been clarified)
•Mental and physical health waivers to be signed upon applying for a gun license
• Creating new crimes of assault with a firearm that requires no physical action by the lawful possessor

They have gone completly insane at the Capital building.

Well, these are state laws.

If people don't like them, they can move to Texas.

You get what you vote for.
If you voted to have a majority of your legislatures as Democrats - I have no sympathy.
We didn't and I hope you vote for the constitution when you move here.
Welcome and Long Live Texas !

ALL state-level gun laws are unconstitutional, period. I think the few restrictions that we can all live with should be ACTUAL common-sense stuff like guns not being allowed in bars. Even then bar employees should be allowed to carry as long as they don't imbibe.

I can also tell you that if the federal government or my state passes any kind of gun legislation that requires me to surrender anything I own, I will not comply.

www.goal.org... this seems to say that you cant even transport a gun through massachusets if its an "assault weapon" and as the supreme court ( i think it was them) have allready ruled that if your drviving with your gun to a state that the gun is legal it is legal to drive with said weapon in the car even if it is banned in the state as long as you dont unnessisarily delay your exit from said state

I love the hypocrisy of republicans, and other people like you. It's all "states' right this, states' rights that." But as soon as a state does something you disagree with, it's unconstitutional.

Goal Link

Goal is Massachusetts NRA. The NRA has stated that Massachusetts is un-workable. Massachusetts has stated it will spend every last dollar the tax payers have fighting against the 2nd amendments rights.

Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Article I. All men are born free and equal, and have certain natural, essential, and unalienable rights; among which may be reckoned the right of enjoying and defending their lives and liberties; that of acquiring, possessing, and protecting property; in fine, that of seeking and obtaining their safety and happiness.

Article XVII. The people have a right to keep and to bear arms for the common defence.

Article XXIV. Laws made to punish for actions done before the existence of such laws, and which have not been declared crimes by preceding laws, are unjust, oppressive, and inconsistent with the fundamental principles of a free government.

"I, do truly and sincerely acknowledge, profess, testify and declare, that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is, and of right ought to be, a free, sovereign and independent state; and I do swear, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the said commonwealth, and that I will defend the same against traitorous conspiracies and all hostile attempts whatsoever."

Buy my house! It's on the market! Whats your budget? But seriously, I would definitely leave and move south if I were you. How can they make you lock your gun, that you own, at a gun club?? That's insane, and they would basically have to check your own gun out to you.

If only those who dictated the laws were brave enough to physically enforce them themselves.....now that would be a sight to see.

Are they saying that it is unlawful to defend your home and family now in Massachusetts?

This is not just Treason, it is beyond sinister.

I'm moving back to Mass in 6 days. Thank god I don't own any guns after living in Texas for a while. I guess I'll find myself back in Colorado faster than I thought

It's definitely not as easy to get a gun there than in Tx lol but this seems like it's over doing it.

Funny guy.

Tenth Amendment:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The Second Amendment is a right delegated to the People by the United States Constitution. It supersedes any state laws and is therefore not a States' rights issue.

Imagine if Mississippi made a law that said they have the authority to establish slavery again and that it was their right as a state. Would that not be in violation of the 13th Amendment?? Do you think they'd get away with that? Same thing applies here. The states do not have any authority over the Second Amendment.
