Oh yes he has. He has alluded to it several times, and so has Biden. We have been, and will continue to be, false flagged into total gun confiscation. Baby steps. We're being baby stepped for the past decade to this point.

NO president has the power to issue executive orders to remove constitutional rights. Just because Obama claims he can doesnt make it so. Who the hell does he think he is? How much more does he have to prove his anti-constitutional and anti-american extremism before people open their eyes?

But he is going to do that, and so much more. It's too late now. Our country is going to be very different by the end of these four yeas, and I've been saying on ATS that 2012 was not going to be the year that hell breaks loose. It will be 2013.

Myself as well as others are hoping that what is going on and has been going on will result in the awakening of the people and a fresh wind of freedom and anti-federalism which is what gave birth to the constitutional republic.

It's sad we've fallen this far, and looks like we're soon to get a look at how much further we can fall.

Look, he's not going to do anything unconstitutional, especially with an issue as big as gun control.

Executive orders are by their very nature, unconstitutional. Ask anybody from New Orleans during Katrina about what they can or can't do with your guns. Bush already suspended the Posse Comitatus act and withdrew us from the War Crimes Treaty, and 9-11 gave them unprecednted powers of detention and tossing out rights to a trial... The foundation has already been laid down and, to my understanding, there's really no limit to an exectuvive order, the man can write whatever he likes on it, and presto it's policy.

^ This.

Let's not forget this either:

If you watched his press conference he stated he is not trying to remove the 2nd amendment. He is just better enforcing the measure that the people who shouldn't have guns don't, which makes sense!

NY is heading for a long constitutional challenge or perhaps given to previous ruling on the same issue will no even last that long.

And to think it was NY anti-federalism that forced much of the original wording in the bill of rights and the constitution. Now look at them! A political sewer!

If you grow up in countries like Europe (like I did) you don't realize that and you follow the majority of the people's opinion that it is not good - well once you lived a couple years in the US (like I did) - you are starting to realize that you have been brainwashed since your birth and there is more to life than just work and paying taxes.

That's a funny thing you say there, I lived/worked in the states for more than 8 years, it was exactly the opposite.
Over in the states, it was ALL ABOUT WORKING and paying taxes and just making it over the next month paying your CC bills, let alone medical bills or whatever..DARE you fricking get sick over there or expenses coming up which you didn't anticipate...

This is what the majority of the lower-class and middle-class life is in the states - in CONTRAST to Europe where the amount of work is WAY less because we have a lot more free time, holidays, paid vacations than compared in the states. Makes me wonder in what "European country" you lived before, must be some former eastern-block country because the US is BY FAR not that Disneyland as you describe it here.. where you realize "you have been brainwashed before". What a total contradiction to my own experiences! And by the way, "Europe" is not a country.

.

And I think once the TSA got a foothold in the airports, and eventually everyone's complacency regarding their molestation pat downs and naked scanners, tptb saw this and thought of how they could control everyone next.... guns!

Looks to me like talk of "executive orders" are the political ravings of a certain type of man faced with the overwhelming disgust of the people " jealous of their rights" as Madison put it.

Governor Cuomo looks and sounds like a yapping little chee-wa-wa on the white house leash.

www.cnn.com...

Read the article people, and since I know most of you wont I'll post some quotes.

(CNN) -- The gun lobby is "ginning up" fears the federal government will use the Newtown shooting tragedy, exactly one month ago, to seize Americans' guns, President Barack Obama said Monday. At least part of the frenzy is little more than marketing, he implied. "It's certainly good for business," the president said, responding to a question about a spike in weapons sales and applications for background checks after the massacre at Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School left 27 people dead, 20 of them children. "Part of the challenge we confront is that even the slightest hint of some sensible, responsible legislation in this area fans this notion that somehow, 'Here it comes, everybody's guns are going to be taken away,'" Obama said.

There you go. From Obama himself. Hes not going to take away the guns, he just wants to talk about ways to make them safer (ie: tougher regulations to obtain, etc).

All you guys are doing to pushing a marketing campaign designed by the gun people to scare you into buying more guns. Its actually brilliant by them.

well Hitler did the same thing in 1938 and we all know how that ended.

While I don't believe anyone can tell you what you should be allowed to do, especially if you are responsible, you might want to brush up on your history. If you are referring to the Feinstein Bill and are comparing it to Hitler's gun control policy, although they are similar, Hitler's policy was an extension of post-World War I gun control measures set on Germany by the Allies to keep Germany from militarizing itself.

The proposed Feinstein assault weapons ban itself doesn’t call for confiscation, and would in fact allow owners of any banned guns to keep their weapons when/ if the bill goes into effect. A Connecticut lawmaker is calling for background checks to buy ammo, but this is in no way in the “confiscation” vein.

Hitler, then, came into power when this regulation was in effect … so, yes, Hitler, by default, did have a gun control policy — but only because it was forced on Germany.

I'm not defending this monster, only showing you that the thing most often repeated by the pro-gun people is a fallacy.
Yes but didn't he exspand the control messures after be elected to office. I was pretty sure he made it iilegal for Jewish people to own any type of gun.

Anybody will tell you.....you get near that 2nd amendmant you better put on a fire suit if you have any brains. Even to this day Bill Clinton still has burn marks on his a## over his drunken sailer like handling of the 2nd and related issues.

If we were only talking about executive powers being used for gun control that alone would seem to be far enough over the line to raise suspicion among any freedom loving Americans.

But Obama has also threatened to use his executive powers to raise the debt ceiling unilaterally, and bypass congress. He has many other executive orders already in the works, and he hasn't even been inaugurated to his second term yet.

Apparently, his reelection has given him new godlike powers, and as fanciful as that may sound, it isn't far from the truth. He has the mandate, he has enough of the will of the people behind him, and he has powers that are being underestimated because many assume that he "wouldn't dare"

Again, you ain't seen nothing yet....

The next thing will be to use EOs to curtail other rights (no dissent against the government, especially the president be it verbal, or written - including online; forced health care; forced innoculations and federal id cards).

This is not about guns. This is about the President of the United states signing a executive order that would limit an amendment in the constitution..

This goes far beyond guns and gun control...

------------------

I could see the anti-gun crowd arguing the need for gun control measures.... However I think both sides can agree... the president does not have the power to write law... yet here he is dictating through executive order...

Both sides of the debate should be up in arms about this...
