It just seems like an invitation for ATF to come and visit.
reply to post by crappiekat

If they register their guns, and do not violate any laws, why should the ATF "visit" them?

Citadel Patriot Agreement

Just thought id post this link to their, 'agreements'.
IMO the only way to know for sure if it'll work is to do it.

Finally..somewhere I can go and cultivate genetic viruses in my home without the dang gubment knocking down my door...no..your not allowed to make weapons grade anthrax..blah blah blah.
What freedom does a man have if he cannot create his own doomsday machine in the privacy of his own home!!!

Where do I sign up?

Some curiousitys:
Their views on:
Same sex marriage
taxes for the community (I bet they want you to pay a percentage of your income...for the community...those roads don't pave themselves..not to mention the citadel's ammo and gun costs...guess who is flipping that bill).
Legal issues (say a car accident with someone unable to pay for damages)
Jonny knocking up every girl in town and running away
Abortion
how many rat droppings should be allowed in your food (any agency that checks for quality processing?)
etc etc etc.

So..they are ultimately just playing fort...but I do encourage these bastions of conservatism walling themselves in..it makes for a fantastic social experiment imo...they realization that society builds up together...or falls apart with this live and let live mentality.

give it 20 years, and if it still exists, it will either be a proper dystopia, or perhaps more "socialist" than the outside world.

Actually, I don't see any problem with their agreement. Some people may, and thus, they shouldn't consider joining. Furthermore, as far as training people to use guns, I believe that is a good idea. Furthermore, many may not realize it, but there are states and counties where they currently require school age children to be trained in the use of firearms.

what the bejayzus is this "american exceptionalism" the pride in which binds them together?
jumping the gun here but it sounds like some xenophobic utopia, i hope i'm wrong .....but?

the US would appear to be collapsing in on itself if this is it's future.

After skimming this, it is absolutely a cult of gun or the cult of the nra..

Freedom? liberty?
Hey, I am all about liberty and personal leave me the hell alone politics..but I don't like guns..you owning them is fine, me..I don't want to own one.
oh..I am -forced- to own one...
how is that different than forcing me to not have one?

So...totalitarian, just going the opposite way, but no less pointed in its overruling your personal liberty (to not own a gun) in regard to the omnipotent government...you are forced to own a gun..you are forced to buy a commercial product...forced to buy also a bunch of food and water for a year.

And failure to do this will get you removed, violently if need be, from the community.

Mhmm...so, the kool aid...cherry or grape flavored?

I too am curious about their admission policies. Would they be inclusive of everyone that wishes to live under the banner of liberty?
reply to post by beezzer

As I stated in a previous response, I believe that the admission policy is fairly clear, namely living according to the Constitution. There is nothing that says any gender, sexual persuasion, etc, would be excluded. I can only respond to what they claim, and they specifically state that certain mindsets would probably not be comfortable living there, but that would be up to the persons that feel that way.
Let's try to keep the discussion to what is stated in the news article, not what people believe it could become.

well, if thats all they are really looking for then we already have communities like that now, they are called ghettos, they can move there.

people in the ghettos believe in live and let live. you can sell drugs, commit welfare fraud, kill people, etc etc, and nobody will turn you in to the police. They will look the other way and mind their own business.

like I said in theory it sounds good but i don`t think it could ever work. Everyone has a different idea of what liberty is to them,so if they really are going to keep their nose out of their neighbors business you can expect that in many ways that community will resemble a ghetto.

if i want to live in a tent, collect welfare/food stamps, let my grass grow, have abandoned vehicles all over my property, get drunk all night and sleep all day, etc, etc the constitution gives the right to do that.is this the kind of community that they will have?

That is the problem. The US IS COLLAPSING on itself, and it is not because of this idea. Just look at how many young people cannot get jobs, and are living with their parents, even with a college education. Such a country cannot survive very long. In addition, a country cannot survive long by printing money, because at some point, nobody with accept it. People who fail to learn from the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it, Witness Nazi Germany and the super inflation that occurred there.

Sounds like Wacko all over again.. They would still be bound by federal law...

They have a better chance on an Indian reservation.. The ATF agents would have this place
surrounded and destroyed just like Wacko..

It sounds like a great idea in theory, but in action it is a commune of people who say they love liberty
thinking they can do what they want until the big guy comes in and smashes the people to pieces.

Actually, what you describe is what we have in the US right now. When 50% of the people of the US right now are living with government "aid", how long do you think the current US can survive? Do you see any politicians actually changing this direction? This country is headed for a quick death, and I don't see many that really understand this. If you look at the agreement posted earlier, these people UNDERSTAND the direction this country has taken, and they are trying to ensure that their residents don't remain unprepared.

Actually, the government is doing that now. How free do you think you are, when drones are flying over your house right now, and you can't even see them? How free do you think you are right now, in a country, where slowly but surely the entire set of The Bill of Rights are being destroyed, one by one?
People need to wake up and understand that this country is headed to a quick death.

I found this interesting from the "Citadel" article....

Our proud history of Liberty as defined by our Founding Fathers,

As I recall our Founding Fathers were slave owners. That's not Liberty!

Umm, do you think that is any different from so many websites? I don't see that as being an issue. No one is forcing you to contribute.

Nobody is forcing you to own one, or NOT own one, although the current administration is trying to stop gun ownership. If you don't want to own one, then you would not want to join this community. No one is FORCING you to join.

You know as well as I do, that is NOT what was meant by that statement. Furthermore, many of the Founding Fathers were NOT slave owners, and did NOT believe in slavery. Anyway, that is a dead issue.

after reading the agreement i can already see that anyone who is prohibted by law from owning a firearm can`t move there.

Once ratified, this list of conditions may only be altered by unanimous consent of all parties

in order to change any of the conditions in the agreement every single person in the community must agree to the change.

Four: Every able-bodied Patriot of age within the Citadel will maintain one AR15 variant...

Eight: All Patriots, who are of age and are not legally restricted from bearing firearms,...

so, if you are legally restricted from bearing firearms are you still required to maintain an AR15??

Thirteen: All Citadel Citizens agree to accept dispute resolution by an arbitration panel

a panel? what panel? how is this panel created?are the members of the panel elected?,appointed?who are the members of this panel?who elects the panel? who appoints the panel?

Only a fool would agree to document like this that lacks so much detail and contradicts itself. no offense but this agreement looks like it was cobbled together by a 15 year old who was on a ten minute break from playing call of duty on Xbox.

I understand, the people are going to have to pay property taxes on this land,
they will not even own it really... If they do not pay the taxes it will give them every reason
to go in and eradicate anyone who resists. There is a better way to do this and it includes
not publicizing the whole thing to the world... America will be fine, most people are to busy
being a cog in the machine to even really care... There are good times and tough times.
The Government knows the line in the sand that they can not cross with firearms. This commune is destined
to fail..

I can only conclude that you do not live in a community with an Association. If you did, you would have the answers to your concerns. Try to buy a house in a new development that DOES NOT HAVE an association. Virtually impossible now.
