Etymology is a real thing. And you are not using it properly.
It's not ok to just take a word apart and say the two or three parts mean something else entirely. That's rather Orwellian, actually.
This is a growing trend in "poetry" written by people with little to no understanding of the English language, let alone any other, as well.
(Example; "I love my Car-TOONS, yknow, drvin in my car, listenin to my TUNES.")

ETA: Not saying your thread should be removed. Good points, but you can't just decide a word means something it doesn't and call it truth here. I
mean, obviously you CAN, and do, as do many others, and get away with it, but you shouldn't.
