There's nothing to be gained by being rude about mistaken beliefs, we ALL have them at some point in our lives and a little kindness and understanding from our peers go a long way when we realize it.

PLEASE help the volunteer staff out and abide our TACs by resisting the urge to throw mud, it will be greatly appreciated.

You are quite right. I enjoy a little good hearted ribbing as well as the next guy. But I am confining mine to "before the fact" There are many people out there who are so emotionally invested in this event that it is entirely possible that too much of the mean spirited "I told you so" stuff could send some of them over the edge. If we here at ATS are responsible for even one of them harming or killing him/her self it will be our eternal shame.

Like the doomsayers who will find new worries, lets find new targets for our wit and jibes; targets that won't be likely to do themselves harm over it.

It's just the galactic cycle of life within which our sun is immersed, but let us never forget the rather unique cosmological configuration involved in our earth-moon-sun relationship, which is rather astounding when you start looking into it ie: as a starting point why at this moment in earth evolution our moon's circumference perfectly eclipses that of the sun from the perspective of an observer on earth.

i think thats because the moon iis 400 times smaller than the sun and
the sun is 400 time further away from earth than the moon

i may be wrong but i doubt it

But seriously, well done Springer. I really don't understand the urge of some people to mock other people's creeds. These threads making fun of 2012 (or any other belief) should be erased (or moved) in the minute they are created.....if possible.

Well, it's here and the "I told you so threads" are arising and they're starting to bug me!
