Not me, if anything happens, it will be am early Christmas present. I have nothing planned that day, I say bring it!

It's hard to think my wife might die on December 21st... But if my severe depression doesn't get any better, that's what is going to happen.

Why? you can dig a hole and that might help prolong your suffering if there is a massive solar burst of ionized radiation .... I am not worried because the Mayans never said the world would end .....

Here in Germany everybody is making jokes about it, but nobody really cares I guess. Germany is too overpopulated to find a safe spot for yourself to hide in anyway, so I'll just go with the flow and see what happens

Fine, I've ignored them all, I'll bite.

I was raised in a strictly religious Southern Baptist home. Since I can remember every Birthday/Holiday/Sunday/Wednesday/Family Birth/Family Death was absolutely destroyed by my Grandfather's long winded speeches on how "The End Times are Upon Us". We would all sit at the giant dining room table moving our food around with our forks while he went on and on with fire and brimstone stories. I was traumatized that the world was going to end at any given second since I can remember. My family was pretty much convinced Jesus was coming back every single day and he was definitely not taking me with him, so I'd be left to take the number of the beast (at age six for not eating my vegetables) all alone after the rapture.

That can really screw a kids head up.

I lived in this fear convinced I wouldn't make it to see 2000 until, finally, here came 1999!!! AND Y2K. Already paranoid, already anxiety filled, here the world is going to end. My best friend drug me out the house that night off to a teen dance club and I forced a smile and danced until the countdown. I held my breath the entire time. Then, some random guy kissed me and nothing happened. My friend and two guys we met walked the beach all night talking about how scared we all actually were in relief that nothing happened, we watched the sun rise, and all was well.

Still...that fear of THE END has been implanted in my brain for so long that yeah if I sit down and think about it a little, I get a little anxious. Honestly, I keep forgetting when the 21st is, but when I'm reminded here or by others there's a split second of that same fear from back in 1999.

My understanding it isn't the end exactly. The fallen angels are released from the abyse to terrorize us. Nothing has been that bad yet to be classified as the end. I haven't missed a meal due to lack of food in decades. Most of us don't know what uncomfortable is. Uncomfortable is what Hatians felt after the quake. Uncomfortable is what Japanese felt after the tsunami. In the US people expect help. so after devestating events people assume they will be back on their feet in 3 months. Uncomfortable is when farmers don't bother to plant crops due to certain failure. Uncomfortable is when water dries up and distribution stops, not when the barges can't get down the Mississippi. When the government tells you to skip hygien in favor for a daily quart of water then we should talk about the end times.

Either way I plan on opening my Christmas gifts on the 20th...... So my personal apocalypse may come from my family when they wake up on the 21st to see me sleeping in a pile of wrapping paper and cuddling my new socks and tie.
