You have a good point. There will be many trolls who take advantage of this date. It might be funny, it might not be. It would be funny if somebody did something causing all the believers to panic and run for the hills. I don't see why the believers would actually do anything harmful though. I mean if they thought everybody was going to die they'd just panic and try to find shelter or something.

On Wed I pick my oldest up from college for her to spend the doom.. erm.. I mean holidays at home.We were talking earlier tonight and the kids at school were actually talking about the end of the world coming on Friday.She said most were joking.. some nervous joking.. and some were actually frightened. Ahh well, I agree.. a prank could be a real pain.

I this earlier last week.. my Aunt was a jehovahs witness and filled my cousin up with end of the world/second coming prophecies every time they came around. My cousin would party like a madman and screw every female in sight...... just in case. Wonder how many August/September babies there will be born in 2013...
Wait, thats not funny...

Exactly why I've told people to be careful on the 21st.

Does anyone remember the London Riots last year? Well most of those people were just looking for an excuse to join in, they didn't care about the guy who got shot.

Well imagine if people start something on the 21st, the most perfect excuse to join in on the chaos, it will be like the London riots times 10. I hope nothing like that happens.

Stay safe guys.

I'm from Vancouver, and there is no hockey this year. So I think I am safe from any riots.

Bring this date on already.

Looks like it was made kind of sloppy. It is an accurate time chart though, the times are all correct.

I am having my yard rocked Friday, I guess if the world ends, They cant cash the check . .

In seriousness though, I worry about others. My daughter has school that day, and they have a musical.
If I keep her home that day she fails music. She has had straight A's her whole life. I just hope no crazies go near the school. ... I wish I could just go with her that day.

Christmas holidays don't start before that? Where I'm from the kids get two weeks for Christmas break.

I'm no evangelist, but..

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father

for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

..and some of you ask "When will the destruction occur?", as if you trust that your governments are "all knowing'.

Patience.

The title of this thread is quite..ironic, is it not?

Who said that the "hoaxes" would not 'credit' towards "the real thing"? Maybe your "real thing", involves such "hoaxes". If your lives are in order, then you shall have nothing to worry about. However, that does not go to say that you should kick back and put your feet up.

[color=95CF86]Apparently, I live in one of the few locations on this planet, where nobody cares about this 'Doomrapturocalypse Prediction'.

[color=95CF86]Friday there will be billions.
Do you honestly believe that there are billions of people who believe this crap?

Even though most people are gullible idiots, many of them are still smart enough to know that any sort of 'Doomraptocalypse Prediction' is utter nonsense. Billions?? yeah right

They don't have to believe it to take precautionary measures. I'm saying that literally billions of people know about the date and about the correlation between it and the "end of time". All I'm saying is that people will be acting different, already are. Ya ever hear that gas prices are going up next week so you go ahead and fill up your car? That..

Where are they?

Most people know nothing about it. Of the people whom do know about it, most of them do not care.

People are gullible idiots every day of the week, not just this Friday.

That whole chart is wrong. Primarily because the Winter solstice occurs at 11:12 UT not 11:11. The error time was to draw it into the hooey they are spreading. Solstice occurs at 11:12...for what the truth is worth.

I can see some ornery kids trying to spoof something to make people feel stupid for believing in the silliness...but...I don't see a big hoax being pulled off though.

THAT is something im looking for. Think of the nurse that commited suicide when she heard a false announce on the end of the world the 21st. There should be a few lessons to learn that day.

I myself am not afraid of any major disaster on Friday...but like you I am weary of what other humans may do on Friday.

I feel like many may be out of control and I do not want to be in their path; when they are.

I have stocked up on food and water etc. and I am going to stay in on Friday too.

Well, if ths is Mayan prophecy -- I'd expect things to kick off at 12:01am, Dec. 21st in the Mexican time zone.

The Mayans based all their observations off the sky from their location, not Greenwich, UK.

You can use this calculator to put in Dec. 21st, 2012 at 12:01am for Mexico City, and then put in your location and find out what the corresponding local time will be:

Time Zone Calculator Thing

I've done both (Mexico and GMT) for my location just for fun. Might even have a bottle of bubbly around just because!

ETA: Or I guess you can use the 11:11 or 11:12 time too -- whatever you fancy.

They are watching "2012" in my daughters 8th grade class this week.
Personally, i think this 2012 thing is pretty fun, I have joked with my kids about it all year, even have a countdown clock on my browser bar.
I told my son im going to spend all the money on the 20th and start rioting at about 8 pm that night

What will I really be doing? drinking beer and playing a video game

I'm not expecting anything on 21st December. But I won't be disturbed or panicked if all hell breaks loose either.
The reality of life is disappointment for most people.
We are sold a vision of an eternally unobtainable utopia, to keep us working, striving, buying. The pursuit of happiness, if you can afford it.

Change is something that we all subconsciously want and the promise of change inspires and motivates like nothing else (see US election 2008).

I don't fear change and have no dread of what may come,
but I'm actually dreading the influx of '' I told you so!" threads on Saturday.

This.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One does not have to 'believe' that this stuff is going to happen, or 'believe' in some 'Doomraptocalypse Prediction' as you mention..
1/2 Nephilim could not have said it any better..
The fact that people will be acting different just from what they hear from there peers.. to whom may or may not 'believe'...but it is a viscous cycle.
Yeah like today, I think I'm replying to one. Do you proofread?
Youre asking me the location of plurally, billions of people, insinuating that I am incorrect as to my "how many jellybeans are in the jar" number.
At the same time (!) you are making the claim that you KNOW otherwise. How do you know most people dont know about the date? You dont know most people. How do you know which of those is the least bit concerned with the 21st, ya dont, but you DO know that my guess is WRONG FOR SURE.
Thanks for the laugh though. "Where are billions of people?"
No shotgun ? How can you think you're ready with no shotgun ?
I'm thinking you got one and just forgot to mention it , it's hard to beat one for making a mob go away .
