god knows what might reside inside our bodies for that case...

what if we are living in a constant portal Esq paradox,

let me explain... we humans are living on "earth" which seems immense to us however is nothing more than a molecule, then if you look even further from the microscope then you would see the universe is actually in a spherical shape, and it is also a molecule that composes a living organism which is part of a living organism. so what if the same resides in our bodies? and the process repeats itself etc..etc..

so here we are the "mighty" human race...nothing more than bacteria residing in the colon of some exotic alien species

It's one thing to see the pattern (which is stunning in its own right), it's another to experience it directly. The "mystical sensation" is one of self-and-universe, or organism-and-environment, as a unified field/process. Non-verbal, direct - it's an experience, not a concept. It does not violate the intellectual conscience. When directly felt/apprehended, it transforms one's way of living.

Many people, across cultures and throughout time, have attained such a sensation/state through various methods - some that shall not be named due to this site's policies. But some of the other time-honored ways are through stuff like meditation/yoga, fasting, contemplative prayer, rhythmic drumming/dancing, and even through spontaneous 'grace.' One such account of it occurring spontaneously - which also happens to be one of my favorites - happened to a self-described (at the time) "materialistic-atheist" medical scientist:

At this point, I merged with the light and everything, including myself, became one unified whole. There was no separation between myself and the rest of the universe. In fact, to say that there was a universe, a self, or any 'thing' would be misleading - it would be an equally correct description to say that there was 'nothing' as to say that there was 'everything'. To say that subject merged with object might be almost adequate as a description of the entrance into Cosmic Consciousness, but during Cosmic Consciousness there was neither 'subject' nor 'object'. All words or discursive thinking had stopped and there was no sense of an 'observer' to comment or to categorize what was 'happening'. In fact, there were no discrete events to 'happen' - just a timeless, unitary state of being.

Cosmic Consciousness is impossible to describe, partly because describing involves words and the state is one in which there were no words. My attempts at description here originated from reflecting on Cosmic Consciousness soon after it had passed and while there was still some 'taste' of the event remaining.

Aldous Huxley said it was like "opening up the reducing valve to Mind at Large." He might have been on to something.

On a related note, Alan Watts has often spoken on this subject beautifully, particularly in this lecture:

"To know that you are God is another way of saying that you feel completely with this universe. You feel profoundly rooted in it and connected with it. You feel, in other words, that the whole energy, which expresses itself in the galaxies, is intimate. It is not something to which you are a stranger, but it is that with which you, whatever that is, are intimately bound up. That in your seeing your hearing your talking your thinking your moving, you express that which it is that moves the sun and other stars."

Interesting theory and pics op.

It seems a lot of us has had this cross our minds at one point or another.

Another interesting thing is the spiral figures in many ancient religions.
Makes one wonder.

Only on Sundays and every alternative Wednesdays. Sorry i just burst out laughing at some of the stuff on ATS recently.

Don't take yourself so seriously ! be free from your own dogma. Live the Chaos!

Some people do laugh at the mystics who like to think more deeply than perhaps you do. Some of us would like a bit less chaos too, as we have experienced enough of it over many lifetimes and we want to go home. I doubt you will get what I'm saying but the mystics will.

Good day to you young soul. You are free to experience as much chaos as you like.

Another self righteous mystic telling me off, how original. Your desire to play nanny on forums indicates to me you have much, much more spiritual evolution to complete before you find your way home. It's an easy game to play, the "I know better game", fun for all the family. When you become more confident of your beliefs you won't feel the need to defend them and embrace a bit of humour in your life. Lack of humour always tips me off to false mystics.

Now watch what happens when I lay the picture

A basic understanding of how our galaxy works....

So in a nutshell, my theory goes like this...

We are living on the surface of a particle....
that is orbiting an electron....
that is orbiting the nucleus of an atom...
that resides in the body of a living organism....

Believe it or not i have often thought the same kind of thing. The Universe repeats itself just as life does as life is the production of the Universe.
And which brings me onto man's destiny as designed by the Universe is to spread his seed throughout the cosmos. That is the purpose of all life in general and that's part of the reason why we developed intelligence.......to avoid extinction. And when we are gone from here another life form will take our place with the same intention.

I have thought about this a lot over the years, but the only thing I can't understand is "what is a soul"? What happens when we die? The multiple universes we carry die with us?????

The idea that we are living inside the body of God, or a lifeform, is a fun one, but not a new one.

Just as valid is that nature uses certain structures, shapes and physics models that are adaptable at the micro as well as the macro.

"As above, So below" the Alchemists and great Philosophers have had this idea. Christ had this idea, Buddha had it, so did Krisna and many other "Religious" figures. I had it too in 1970. We all will have it. Because it is true. The universe is nothing more than the physical body of that which we call "God" for want of a better word. It is vast and aware, even aware of US. As we need to become aware of our cells and our molecules and atoms. Once you understand this secret, worlds are unlocked. The secret has been out there the whole time. It is in us as well, it cannot be hidden. So really it is not a secret. We are not being kept from it, we are instead DISTRACTED from thinking of what it might mean, that every one of us is a god unto his or her self, capable of miraculous manifestations of physical prowess, mental prowess and spiritual good or evil. If we were given the time and energy to study this, we'd all of us be GODS. But the Illuminati, those who know how to utilize this force and are therefore in positions of power and wealth, will continually distract us, with massacres, with plagues, with wars, with silly, useless things like twinkies and fiscal cliffs. The Spiral is the key. You see it even down to prehistoric times. We call it a "Labyrinth" or "Maze" when we see something spectacular we are "Amazed" that is we are flung from our mundane existence, into the Spiritual Realm, where things are connected in ways we cannot see or hope to understand. Come to an understanding of self and you will be free.

For many years I've thought about this concept and labelled it to myself as 'The Fractal Ladder Universe'.

It's why I don't think there is such a thing as an elementary particle, just a limit to how small a particle that we can ever detect or observe.

We can go down a few rungs of the ladder of existence but there is a limit for us to interact with, and this continues for infinity with the possibility that theres an overlap. The universe a couple of rungs down could percieve as the largest object in their universe our smallest so called elementary particle. This concept would open up the possibility of communication with a universe lower down or higher up the fractal ladder.

It's also worth noting that if indeed we live in either an infinite universe, or there are infinite other universes, then it's 'almost certain' that we do in fact live in a simulated universe. The math and probabilities state that.

Although I'll be just as equally unimpressed if you manage to work this one into your theory as well...

I've always had the theory that the galaxy is the top of a tin.
It's quite obvious, really, and explains a lot of things.

I personally always assumed that, and in more recent years as I delved into physics found it to be the case. One thing, once it becomes mainstream, it will provide a source of unlimited energy for man to manipulate and power this world. Infinitely large, and infinitely small, and then beyond both.......

I remember this theory from the movie Animal House when a professor was trying to impress a young woman while smoking weed. It was very funny.
