Government schools are a regimes best friend... Teach the history they want, the economics they wants, the politics they want... Its the best way to brainwash a nation...

The soviets had their own schools and it was a great tool for the regime. Hitler had his youth camps, another way to get to the people at an early age.

Education is not to be left in the hands of governments! It is dangerous!

Protects the kids. Protest government schools.

So only people with money can be able to get an education?

No thanks.

We can't get rid of them 'cause we need cheap babysitters.

I think they could use a reform though...

Maybe turn them into social centers so children can have social interaction? Then turn teachers into day care workers who aren't allowed to teach our children anything? Let the children learn everything on a tablet pc with lessons from the best minds in the world? Something like that, just don't get rid of them.

Anyone who wants an education can get one... Its called the internet and discipline. Parents are responsible for teaching their kids. Leaving it up to governments is dangerous.

Look at the government education system in North Korea... Soviet Russia... They are taught to worship their leaders and they are taught their leaders beliefs... This is what happens when governments control education. They teach you not the truth, but what makes you a better "peasant".

Working parents do not have the time or resources to teach their small children.

Our public school system spends a little over $10,000 a year for each student K-12. There are several private schools in the area that manage it with a lot less. It's a great case for vouchers.

Why does everyone on this site always make excuses for something not to happen? Makes me want to puke.

Why are we looking for a solution to a problem no one wants to acknowledge?

If you are both working.. there should be no Parent in that statement.

It should be working to support a family, which includes at least basic education.. Or not having children.

No, don't dump them down in front of a monitor or 900" tv screen or ipod.. Read them books. Tell them stories.

Educate them properly, and stop raising spongebob hippypants.

That would call for a total reform of our social structure - not just economy. Everyone can't be millionairs, and if they were, the prices of everything would just go up. People aren't poor because they're lazy - people are poor because others are greedy. We have the resources to build a free society now - we just don't do it because people like the power that comes from wealth.

Vouchers? That's another government solution... Try again.

Look I'm not actually even asking anyone for a solution to education or what not, although I think that the free market would be able to do a fine job, I am simply bringing up a dangerous situation... Government controlled educations... Not good, always harmful to real knowledge and dangerous for a society...

So what's a working solution?
And what exactly is your rant; false information is evil?

People are poor because the government is stealing... These people are leeching off the production of others... Saying greed made poverty is like saying gravity made an airplane crash.

Home schools one. Private schools another. No school if you have to.. Letting the government teach your kids is not good for them or for this country.

Ban government schools.

False information is dangerous and it is in the governments interest to give out false information or information that makes it look as if what they are doing is correct. Trying to learn from them is like trying to learn from a talking monkey... It just doesn't make sense and is actually counter productive.

It's not realistic, people get pregnant by accident and kids happen.

Not to mention some parents are deadbeats, some parents die, some parents get sick etc.

And with the low wages in the US, most parents do have to work, unless you're relatively well off.

Yup. Or send them to a private school if I have the money.

Not that private schools are any better, I mean it's still strangers teaching your kid propaganda, right?

You want to talk about unrealistic? This government is unrealistic! They think that they can bomb countries without angering the people they bomb. They think they can run an economy by printing money and pretending it has value. They think they that they can run a civilization by force and that it will work out just fine!

Government schools are meant to indoctrinate if you want to send your kid there that's your choice but at least acknowledge what they are there for...

So basically, it's progression you want.

Political progression or scientific?

Should we stop teaching the art of deception so children wont understand politics and economic? Not teaching it wont make it go away you know.
