Yeah.... I couldn't help but note they have a major experiment run running across multiple days and ending on the 21st, isn't it? Let's hope it's not set to end with some grand finale type thing. I mean, that would fit for how things go lately....but tempting fate would be....ill advised. Yeah, that's the term I'd use. I'm just uneasy about this whole thing. It's like whistling past the graveyard or jumping on a 2x4 50 feet off the ground instead of 5. The worst things seem to happen when people invite them by plain ignorant planning or dumb happening.

I couldn't believe CERN had to pick this moment to try for new records...but it's 2012. Par for the course I guess. A plague of locusts should be a long shortly with a shower of flaming brimstone to follow.

Many of the scientists involved, as well as Stephen Hawking like to joke that if they're wrong and worst comes to worst then there'll be no one left to second guess them. They think it's funny I guess..

The Mayan created the calendar. They were in Mexico. That is central standard time.

The Mayan calendar moves in cycles with the last cycle ending in December 2012. This is often interpreted as "the world will end on 21 December 2012, at 11:11 UTC".

www.timeanddate.com...

UTC (Universal coordinated time), for all intents and purposes is GMT.

Could this be why I keep seeing 11:11 everywhere? There was another thread about the 11:11 phenom...Maybe the world won't end by a solar flare or asteroid but that it will end AS WE KNOW IT when we go over the fiscal cliff and the dollar later collapses.

11:12 UTC
For the Americans on the east coast, that's 7:12 am

ETA: Let me clear that up. 11:12 UTC is when the sun reaches its most southerly declination of -23.5 degrees.
So that it the "end" so to speak.

The Earth will not end.
Yes people will die, as any other day.
Will the "world as we know it" end? Some think it did on 9/11.

No matter what here is a clock for you all 12/21/12 countdown

I agree with those who say it's the time zone of the Mayans. Look, the Mayans didn't know anything about Greenwich Mean Time. London was not their center of the world, folks.

This is only Anglophilia, all this about UTC and Greenwich Mean Time.

It's going to go down connected with the solstice as it precisely happens in Mexico or it won't go down at all.

As to what might happen, I think it's down to the galactic superwave theory if anything happens physically. Now symbolically or spiritually or interdimensionally --- all those are a different thing.

I do believe however, that humanity on the whole (not including secret societies, evil doers, et al) are tired of things continuing as they have for the last millenia. I think most people are on board with revolutionizing the world so that we are not imprisoned by the financial system, things like credit cards, greed, destruction of the world's ecologies and so forth. People are tired of corporate control and being wage slaves. They are tired of the draconian security and the so-called Patriot Act put in place after the inside job happened. People want dramatic new changes in the world.

Maybe 12/21/12 is just a turning point. Perhaps in the future, decades from now, people will look back on it and say yeah that was pretty much THE turning point, 12/21/12.

People need to be careful what they wish for. Drama isn't usually a good thing. Check out this thread:

I'm wishing for the kind of drama that will result in higher consciousness and more peace and harmony for all the world's civilizations. I'm not wishing for a galactic superwave to smack us, but I don't see any other astronomical possibilities unless those in control have been 100% successful in keeping a Nibiru brown dwarf system totally secret and I doubt that's the case.

So if nothing happens astronomically, I hope the date is a turning point when humanity will say 'enough is enough' to old ways of greed and suffering. A Christ-like consciousness of everyone following the 'golden rule' suits me just fine. We can start with that and build upon it.

These days, outside of technological advances, we are still living 20th century lives with all the hardship and heartbreak continuing due to resistance to change certain sociological constructs we are hanging on to. For example, it's time to reform the banking system and audit the Fed.

By the way, I am not in favor of global control by a central world government. I think the NWO concept is evil and dangerous. I am for separate and independent countries and within them there should not be a centralized government, but a system of local and state governments the way it is supposed to be here in the USA. I was always agains the concept of the European Union. I liked it just fine when countries were separate and independent and each had their own currency in Europe.

I guess I am a Libertarian because I like more local independence rather than intrusive, national, centralized government. Also, it seems that every organization or company in the USA is now so corporate that people are under some kind of repression. The most effective corporation in history was Nazi Germany. Imagine the Nazis without guns and with no world domination agenda and what you have is a corporate model that is now in place in every organization and company in the USA. I think it's time for a new model so that so many people are not slaving away with the first priority being shuffling multimillions up to the top 1% executives. I think the corporate model has a sickness to it --- just pick up a good George Orwell book and think about his messages to humanity.

Remember Nixon's legal advisor warned that there was a "cancer on the presidency" and realize that unrelenting corporate greed these days is a cancer on our country and the world. People are now suffering because of this greed cancer. How many millions or billions does a person have to acquire to feel happy these days?
