it could just as easily be a copycat. Someone who didnt have the guts to do it before but have been emboldened by recent events of a similar nature.

or it could just be co-incidence. but personally i think its more likely a copycat

Does anyone remember what the story is on his Dad?

I am reading some odd comments from a myspace page about his going to his Dad's.
Was his Dad married to his Mom?

I am trying to figure out why he was raised by his aunt if he had a Dad around.
(That's where he went when she kicked him out at age 18).
His name is Roberts, so is the aunt.
Her sister was his mom?
Or his Dad is her brother?

I know Amber Tate and her story personally. The lone gunman parked several cars down. She was loading things in her car with some family outside Macys and she heard loud footsteps and saw what looked like a teen with a hockey mask, vest and camo or black clothing carrying a gun. He looked at her but spared her life. They didnt know the severity of the situation until she was sitting in her car calculating what she saw and then saw parents grabbing kids and running out of the store in terror screaming. The parking lot was on the second floor.

I'm terribly sorry but how long have you known Amber? Do you truly believe that she saw a man in a mask with an AR-15, and just went to her car to sit there ang go "hmmm..?"

Do you believe that a suicidal 22 year old wears a mask to his last few minutes alive?

I'm begging people to ASK QUESTIONS cuz this aint right. Between him being POOR, and then having inherited money to go to Hawaii and such. The bust just days before - do we really believe a 17 year old had ALL THAT STUFF but this 22 year old had to STEAL... And he could only steal 1 gun!!

Where did he steal this gun from btw?

Latest theory from LE is that he was inspired by Grand Theft Auto where a scenario of the first person shooter game has the option of donning a hockey mask and entering a food court and opening fire.

Let's just say I think that scenario inspired someone.

PS
On another post I mentioned the name of the FOX news reporter. I wrote his name as Mike Ditka.
He was on just a short while ago and his name is Bill Ditka, btw.

I don't know why I typed Mike.

In GTA you shoot people, not the ceiling which is allegedly where most of his shots went.

Any word on where the gun came from? I know he allegedly stole it but where from?

An unnamed "friend".

I agree with the points you are making and the questions you are asking.

HOW THE BLUE BLAZES DO YOU DO THAT? with an AR-15 its not exactly small? and he wasnt exactly tall with long arms........

Well they just said an AR-15, never said anything about how it was rigged up. It could have been a shorter 16" barrel and a compact stock. But I've known people that have done it with a rifle, works about the same way when someone does it with a shotgun. It's awkward looking and there is a chance you won't get a kill shot off.

But thanks to your post, it got me back to think about the AR-15. The reports where the weapon had jammed, so why would he clear the weapon just to shoot him self if he had other weapons? Also if he knew how to clear the jam that fast be for the SWAT could get to him why did he stop shooting?

But, what if it jammed because he was firing blanks?
How did he get around to shoot the 15 year old on the other side of the mall after clearing the jam and then running back to the stairwell taking off a shoe and what? using his toes to fire it?

I don't get any of the scenario on the ground floor because I didn't hear them ever say a whole lot about it.
Probably with good reason.

You can kill your self with a blank, just have to put it to your temple. An AR-15 longest barrel is 24" long, most are only about 16" to 18" long. If the barrel of the gun is put under the lower jaw, based off an 18" barrel, that means the trigger is only 5" to 6" ((depending on the flash suppressor)) so total that up the trigger is only 24" away from the head. That put's it right about crotch level or near in that area.

Now with that out of the way, does not mean I think I shot him self. To many different things being said about the shooter. The background info people are saying about him, making him sound like the perfect tool to use, and their are too many people that can gain from this little event if they play their cards right. Which I'm betting they already have them in their hand ready to go.

Has anyone figured out anything about the people killed in the shoot out? Like who they worked for or if the traveled a lot?

I've been following this thread, sorta. So, if this has been posted earlier, and I missed it, please forgive me.

Has anyone noticed that both the victims in this shooting were previous residents of San Diego?

Both Oregon mall shooting victims connected to San Diego

He was a business man, who owned a shop in the mall, while she was a nurse. I wonder if there are other common denominators.

Wasn't James Holmes originally from San Diego? Connection? Coincidence?

Also, remember how people were bringing up how James Holmes really had no social media presence? (besides his AFF account and few others just set up) Well, this Guy, Jacob, had a FB page, site. But it was set up only in November 2011. Maybe significant, maybe not.

Originally posted by PaperbackWriter In light of the results of photo examination, I note that the witnesses, no matter how many were actually at the mall at the time, none saw his face, right? So anybody could have been behind that mask. We have no way of knowing that the person who's photo and ID we have been given was really the shooter.

Exactly the same as the CO shooter...

This is the main reason these situations don't set well with me.

Yes, I get it, crazy is ..well, crazy. There is very little logic or reasoning that can be applied to irrational and senseless acts of crime. Most of the time it doesn't even pay to try. So the idea of a shooter wanting to wear a mask could make some twisted sort of sense..it's been proven that people psychologically feel more brazen when their face is covered..

However....what gets me is that people are so quick to believe that the pictures in the media of "the shooters" are indeed the shooters. If they had their faces covered - and in the Aurora case, his entire head, including his bright orange, incredibly noticeable hair - how do we know that those are the right people?

Witnesses from the CO shooting said that they actually saw a man with a goatee and a plaid shirt that they thought did it. In fact, I believe one of the early police reports included that man as a suspect. Yet no one ever mentioned him later.

Ah well..if only we lived in a world where we had video cameras on every corner that caught our every move, maybe then we could prove the identities of these two shooters...oh wait...

Ha. Yep. Haven't been on this the prelude case for the week today.
But, I don't suppose that LE released the no doubt dozens of video surveillance tapes that would have been in Macy's, the Food Court, the stairwell, the lower floor....

Never hapened in a GTA game, Manhunt Maybe, Saints row 2 and 3 possibly but when I say possibly I mean it's possible you could wear a hockey mask, no such 'level or mission' exists in any of the games.

Well, does that mean guards at the Macy's? I would hope someone didn't manage to simply get past them, with no alarm sounded or anything, carrying a gun out in the open! Of course, that's assuming that witness report is reliable.
