Clackamas Town center Shooting Portland, happening now.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say at least one person is dead and multiple people are wounded after someone opened fire in a Portland, Ore., area mall filled with holiday shoppers.

Clackamas County sheriff's Lt. James Rhodes says he is still trying to get more details about the situation at the Clackamas Town Center, but the gunman has been "neutralized." He says he isn't sure whether the gunman is dead.

Authorities are going store-to-store to secure the scene, but Rhodes says there is no indication that there is more than one gunman.

A witness told KATU television that she saw people screaming and parents grabbing their children as they fled the mall.

That witness says the gunman had a rifle and was wearing a camouflage outfit and a mask.

Wife has been escorted out to the parking lot by officers, she is safely outside.

they just sent in the ME medical examiner so i think they are trying to get the body of the shooter out as i think only the me can release bodies to leave a scene yeah they are printing the suspect

Well, this is a tragedy, but is destined to go on and on when relatively malls are a 'soft' target and ban people from CCW inside.

Same thing over and over like a broken record, spree killers kill then take their own cowardly lives before they can face any real opposition.

I can almost predict that the BBC and all the other lefty media outlets will now go into over-drive mode on this and start hating on US gun rights.

Anyone else just hear what they said about gaining access to the suspect for fingerprints? Some where near a Barnes and Noble? Maybe I misheard..but to me that would mean he was dead.

mostlikely if their department is wellfunded they have a digital scanner that can scan the prints into their data base to see if he has any priors or run it throuhg dmv and using this process the prints can be sent electronicly to the station or what not hope this helps www.crossmatch.com...

It appears that despite what witnesses say --- the police and the MSM get the final word on how many culprits there are.

This is very sad, I am really glad to hear OP's lady is okay.

How they are going to catch the killers among this chaos, I do not know, but I hope they do a much better job than Colorado.

Just heard that too.Then something about heading over to an apartment.Sounds like they know who it is already.Said something about he was seen with the shooter before hand.

Just heard on the scanner that they have a shop lifter in custody.

Sickening that people exploit tragedies like this.

Although this also may explain why there could be mistaken 'additional suspects?' People shoplifting and running from the scene?

yeah thats what i heard so im thinking co conspirater suspect is in black shirt black pants cops seem to be slowly follwing the suspect(thats what i gatherd at least)

Of course, the shooter is being said to be using a "black gun".

i think that means they are switich to encrypted coms and are activly after the other suspect in question and dont want to let him know they are on to him

every time you hear static thats an ecrypted comunication it sounds like static to us but to them its clear as a bell you need to have special equipment that is not avaible to civvies to hear it its why they switched to digital coms from anolog
