did any one ever get an update on what happened to that white explorer? any one else think one of the gun men coudl have escaped?(his description matched that of the shooter) and now that things are calming down ill approach it from a conspiracy theory stand point what if the gunmen they have who evidently shot himself was just dressed up by the killer before he left(not likely i know but this is ats)

There would be more people that can step up and handle a situation like this than you think. Especially if there are multiple people with the means to take care of it. I could post endless examples of people stopping their stores from being robbed, videos of civilians taking on armed gunmen, etc.


It happens and people are more capable than you think. The people you think are just wanting to play hero are thinking humans that have lives to lose as well so they aren't going to flake or just get themselves killed. We have the case where a guy took on multiple armed robbers with just a 380 and the ran off with bullet holes in them.

The point is out of a crowd there would be someone that could do something. Not to mention you have to be a pretty good shot to get your ccw, and if there is a shooter situation I imagine most people will be on the ground already so the odds of hitting anyone but the person you are aiming for are slim.

We need the public to wake up to reality. I am tired of people thinking people who carry guns everywhere are just paranoid.

Owning and carrying a gun is just part of life, same as carrying a sword long ago. Difference is, you can outrun a sword. Really, that makes carrying a gun even more essential in today's world vs carrying a sword in times of the past.
Police are a reactionary force. They do not save your life unless they happen to be there, no they take statements and call the ambulance to pick you up so you can be identified by your family members.. If you manage to shoot the perpetrator(s) without getting killed, they will probably treat you like a criminal and throw you in jail for a night (depending on where you live).

My question is, how did they shoot 60 people and not get killed? Out of 60 people no one had a gun! Was this a gun free zone or are the gun laws out there twisted beyond belief? I have to missing something here...

My best friend got killed in a gun free zone, with ample time to pull out and shoot (4th shot hit him in the head).
Gun-control = Death of innocents. Have you ever notices felons have no issue getting a gun? If we take every last gun off the streets, the criminals will just steal them from military and police and have them imported. Have we not seen sufficient evidence of this in other countries?

People just do not like the idea that their safety and the safety of their families is their responsibility.

Ahh I posted without reading far enough, looks like the shooter did get hit. Still a valid post IMHO.

Sounds to me, and I am reading between the lines, that maybe 1 or more CCW's might have taken out the shooter. It seems to me that a deranged shooter popping off 60 rounds should have done way more damage than 2 people down unless this was a directed killing, a domestic dispute gone public, IDK.

I'm pretty sure Oregon allows CCW and in a crowded mall, there should have been many.

This also may be the reason for further searches by the police to find the ones who took the shooter out, still I'm just guessing until everything is brought to light...

coulda been on any number of drugs,or drunk and the ever popular just plain crazy it sounds really weird though ill give you that as that seems a very odd thing to say in such a situation ....unless he was using some form of comunication with one of his partners (alleged not proven) and that was their way of deciding which one of them was gonna be the shooter? far out i know but just trying to think out side of the box

did they just say an FBI team just entered the mall? why the hell would the fbi be invovled in this i didnt know they handled quick resposne to shootings?

Shooter is apparently dead of self inflicted gunshot wound. From Live-Stream

Katu reporting no shots were fired by law enforcement, so the shooter died of self inflicted wound.

Possible Link? I saw this story a few days ago, I wonder if this story is related to the shooting? Note the hockey mask on the table as described by witnesses.

The FBI team (if they are indeed FBI) are there to make sure the evidence is overwhelmingly anti-gun.

If the alleged perp was running around the mall yelling "I am the shooter" then he was looking for additional attention. Why? I don't know. Popping off 60 rounds is a pretty good attention grabber. Maybe he wanted either YouTube infamy or suicide by cop. Sounds like he found the later.

well the last shooting i heard that an fbi team showed up and investigated was the sheik temple shooting but i think that was because they were treating it like a hate crime so im still kinda confused as to why they are there and if they wanted anti gun would they not send in the ATF? opps just saw heffs post

There should even be "dispute resolution" zones where people can go to permanently resolve their differences, or commit suicide by playing FFA Last Man Standing games. Try looking up the definition of liberal before you write such nonsense and no, I will not continue this conversation.

Considering that I'm mostly a socialist, with favoritism for abolishing money as well as equalizing quality of life and standards of living for everyone, starting with free housing, education, and living wage with the poorest, homeless and destitute, even and especially if it it comes at the cost, sacrifice and discomfort of the rich, I'd say that "Liberal" describes me fairly well.
I'm pro-Choice, Atheist, pro-Gay, pro-deregulation and de-criminalization of many controlled substances, and, well, all that other stuff typically associated with being liberal.

Essentially, most of the nonsense about government telling people what they can and can't do with their own bodies, as well as what sorts of recreational substances they can legally purchase needs go bye-bye.
Part of telling people what they can and can't buy regarding substances would also include firearms.

Some people, I suppose, as you've suggested, go look up the definition of "Liberal" and try to fit whatever mold that mold offers.
I, however, make my own rules for the most part, and supply the generalization of what I believe with labels that most closely match what I believe.
Thus, I'm "liberal" by default of the convenience of the label being tagged onto so many things I just happen to support. If being "Liberal" gravitated to some other beleifs, I'm not going to change my beliefs just to hold onto a label.

If guns for everybody is against the "Liberal" way, then, whatever.

Eventually we'll all be owned by machines, hopefully in the next 50 years or less, so, whatever we all think, no matter what we think, doesn't really matter.

Is being locked in a "cage" when the gunner has a ... gun... really such a good plan?
