This is romantic

Of course you tell her that you're a member, ya know, provided this thread hasn't already.
No shame in using the best alternative news source on the internet.
I'll flag this thread for the hopes of you two learning the truth about each other, so you can finally start dating her and we can all get on with our conspiracies again.

Why are we afraid to say we are on ATS to the general public? I mean I have no problem saying "be right there, I'm finishing up on Facebook." But I don't think I would tell my friends "hold on while I finish my post on Abovetopsecret.com". Why is that?

In fact, when the family is over I never leave ATS just opened on my screen.

haha, when I lived with my parents, I would minimize the screen whenever they came in. They probably thought I was looking a porn all the time.

Who can look at porn when ATS beckons.. "Ok I'll only read one topic at a time today..." 5 minutes later... Which tab was the 2012 storm one in? 5? nope, that was 2012 pole shift.. Maybe this one? No that's chemical weapons.. dang I can't remember what my reply was...

I don't minimize the screen.. In fact my girl likes some of you guys.
She's too busy to be on here though.. Someone's gotta teach the kiddies in school.

My friends know I'm crazy and I'll argue with anyone. I don't back down. They're not really ready for ATS, but If they see the screen open they're like what's that. I tell them "Oh I'm watching live feeds in Gaza.. Israel is striking them and Hamas is launching a bunch of rockets."
"How in the world?"
"it's a thread on ATS. A bunch of smart people found all these live feeds and we are all comparing notes."
"heh I had no idea that was happening, how do you know so much."
"ATS"

Then they know.. They don't have to know all the crazy stuff. Not a site I would leave open on NEW TOPICS, cause some of you guys...

ATS is Awesome.

What I would do is casually mention that you were thinking about the work, and have read about such rooms, etc., on the site here. That leaves her room to either talk about it, or act like she doesn't know, without too much risk of her becoming worried or offended. Unless, of course, she seems nervous, and acts like she doesn't want the purpose of the work known. Then, it might be best to leave it alone. Maybe the best thing would be to try and ring up the site in some other context, and see if she bites.

Oh, I see what this really is!

There is no job-site, there was no open laptop displaying ATS, there is no question whether you should tell her or not - because there is also no woman!

You gave it away twice

1. 7.45am? no contractor arrives at a jobsite before 8a, unless it is commercial. In fact, most contractors don't show up until 11.00a - 12.00p, if they show up at all

2. When you plugged your location, gave job experience descriptions, offered the discount, and pushed thread activity by offering further discount for in-thread participation!

Good Plan! I hope you get some business for your efforts

Just messin' with you ofcourse!

My career also requires that I meet with clients and perform services in their home. Establishing good rapport and trust is paramount, in order to pull in as much work off each account as possible. Like many of you, one of the best ways to do this is by finding common ground outside the business aspect of the relationship.

There is a lot to learn through friendly chat and discovering clients have similar interests is not uncommon at all.

If you have decent rapport, you can approach her using several different angles that can lead to her involvement @ ATS.

You could offer idle chat about current pop-culture topics found on ATS. Using 'half-serious' comments like, 'Hope to get your project finished before Dec. 21st'

She'd surely ask why... you could move forward from there and find out for certain if she is a regular or just happened across a story on ATS.

Either way, it's good to be reminded that there are somewhat like-minded people from ATS in our communities. It would be great to know as many of these folks in our community as possible, since they are who would, most likely, offer help in an SHTF scenario.

I would fire you. You had no right to be snooping around on her laptop. Even if it was out curiosity. Hopefully she sees this thread.

Was he REALLY snooping tho at an open laptop with a webpage up?

I think he saw the laptop on, and instead of getting his cell phone out to see what time it was, he looked closer
at the laptop to see the time in the bottom right and when he did that, to his surprise and amazement, he also couldn't help notice the familiarity of the green lettering with black background website design that he so all too well knows.

If you start the topic of conversation of ATS with her, just say that as a lead in --you looked more closely at the time and couldn't help but notice the website that you visit daily.

Or, you could say, "You know, this room reminds me of a panic room for when and if things get out of hand on December 21st. I've been thinking of making one for myself." Then when she says it is one of those rooms, there's your "In" to ATS.

You both can probably help eachother out. When everything comes, alliances are going to have to be made --no denying that.

Do a great job on her room! It's hard to find someone trustworthy who is able to do various works.

Not to be greedy but this woman may the gatekeeper to 50% of all your future business. I am sure she has many like minded friends who would love to have a jack of all trades they can trust!!! I am in business and I am telling you as you already know, there is NO ADVERTISEMENT LIKE WORD OF MOUTH!!!

Snooping my 2ss. I am in people's houses all the time and my "snooping" is what builds rapport. Who is that in that picture? What is that? I have been there! If she didn't want you to see it she would have taken the step to close it.....wait is it a set up? Bait on a hook? Was it the worm hoping you would bite like a big ol bass? NAH!!!!! Close the it man!!! You got it made!!!! This is the next level for you!!! Do not look back!!!!

Look at it this way. THis is also their big break. She now has someone she can deeply trust and these days that is worth more than all of Gerald Celente's gold.

Read the OP again. He wasn't snooping on anything. She left the laptop on on a table and he walked by it. Kinda hard not to notice what's on a screen when you walk by. It's even harder not to notice a website like ATS on a screen.

What are people supposed to do, cover their eyes when they walk by a computer screen? Get a grip.

so are you telling me if you were walking through a room, and a computer screen came into your line of site you would immediately advert your eyes. and forget everything you saw instantly. dont think it works that way. anybody that has spent any amount of time on this site as you and i and the op have, would instantly instantly recognize the color scheme web page format,ect...

i think your being a little harsh.

and to the op. this thread has been on the front pages of the website for awhile most likley she has seen this thread already.

Ummm, prepping is a chore or hobby best done secretively. You really don't want a bunch of other people knowing you're the woman with a year's worth of food stored in your house, especially right before some big global catastrophic event calendar date.

Your paycheck is also paying for your discretion and utmost secrecy as to her location and manner of preps; her life may depend on your keeping your mouth shut, in other words. Might be a good idea to delete this thread before more about the location can be figured out by people...

In other words, you weren't there to date her or befriend her, you were there to perform a service. That's it. And if I were her, I would be really freaked out about this thread. If you installed home safes, would you be blabbing about it to thousands of potential cat burglers?

Maybe she has already replied to your post, most likely giving you a clue as how to respond. I would just be honest with her and leave at that, if she is interested in a having a conversation about it she will, if not she will just say she was checking it out and found it to be nonsense. She may deny ignorance and throw caution to the wind, I say go with your gut, obviously you want to approach this, but you don't want to risk losing her word of mouth or future business if you offend her, but I think you are safe to bring it up without jeopardizing your relationship...is she married? are you married? This could make a difference...would be funny if she gives you the secret signal I posted of the 2 fingers down next time she sees you.

Just ask her have you ever heard of above top secret and she can either say yes and enter to the conversation or
will say no which sows she wished to not talk about it.

Tbj I think it;s important to build a community and to meet as many like minded people as humanly possible so I can;t believe that you would even hesitate to. It's so good to meet someone with common interests and if I were her and knew that you were a member and that you knew I was also a member, but didn't say anything I'd feel pretty bummed out tbh. Just knowing other like minded people are out there and more common than she thought might make her feel a lot better, you never know but it can't be bad telling her.

I would work the phrase "deny ignorance" into a conversation and let her take the hint. If she misses it she's probably a troll and you got lucky she wasn't bright enough to catch it. As a member of AA one of our catch-phrases is "claim progress rather than perfection".(12 traditions) I too am a contractor and this phrase certainly applies to a myriad of goings on. If one isn't affiliated with AA they will just grunt agreement, if they're a member we have an impromptu meeting, wish each other well and move on.
