look at your avatar... I can NOT do stuff like that!

It is not just the issue of being able to use photoshop or whatever program.

The real artistic side is being imaginative and creative. That you have in spades!

Its a specific style that I have experience with. Same with Wrabbit and the more realistic bunny head dude that he thought was a bit to menacing. You have a different style.

Ill tell you who I enjoy seeing stuff from is Templar. His colors, and the way he like to blend them....it is very unique to me.

As it regards wrabbit...i think the image that he though menacing may have been more that I was just a little too far into the uncanny valley

I am interested to see you, and the others here, keep developing your skills. We all win when we learn then share.

It was s'posed to be up in July (June for the elections), but I was real, real quiet like a church mouse, an' no one noticed...

Besides, if I'm out, all my czars lose THEIR jobs, too! Think of the folks you'd be putting out of work! My missus certainly doesn't want to lose her title of "Czar of Press and Communications". Frankly, I'm amazed that no one glommed on to that and blew it up into a huge scandal! I mean, it clearly either a case of nepotism, OR I was messing around with the help in the Oval Throne Room! Seriously now - how many politicians do you know that will point out their OWN scandalous behavior FOR you? Now THAT'S "Transparency"!

I finally completed text exercise in GIMP...& most of all
I have 2 layers, one of a robot Christmas Chick & the 2nd is a
faery snow globe.
Yeah I actually sized & put the globe in her hand. I don't even know
how I accomplished any of that... Now I'm bloody stuck! I got the checks to
come up & erase around the globe & actually moved the globe
to the hand. But the erased area not happening. I think I will have
to start over tomorrow & I will be busy with other stuff so on Christmas
it will be just me & I will have more time...Trying to weed through tutorials.
Brain Fried!

I got SO excited & thought I was going to make second contest
entry on me own, LOL! I will still post it if I ever get it right.

It's very important to save the image as a .png
Export the globe with the chequered background,you'll notice that it is now just the globe without the background.


then bring it back in by dragging it onto you original piccie of said lady.

Use tools.............transform tools................scale to resize it
Then tools.............transform tools..............move to place it where you want it

It's just a question if scaling and moving again until you get it perfect.

Thank you for the help. That's much better than me going back & trying
to figure out what I did. I do see that I started them as .gif & may be part
of the problem.
I will work on it when I get a chance. I will definitely have plenty of time
tomorrow & maybe some here & there today.

We'll be going to an annual thread starting January 1st.
This thread is already hundred of pages long....and making it annual seems a good way to go.

If anything informative needs to be added to the OP, please u2u me your suggestions.
I'll be copy/pasting what we're using now closer to the first of the month.
