i love what you uploaded for yourself.
That is a nice picture.

Thanks, over time I will add more pictures (and already have) of things from around here. This is a caribou / water buffalo from nearby a year or so ago.

I also like you gorilla theme all the time!

PS. I'm from texas too, but will never live in the US again

I have contemplated leaving. Problem is, not much is a whole lot better out there. That, and the natural human tendancy to shy away from the unknown. Well, and my own risk aversion.

I see Templar posted one for you while I was making one. I'll post mine anyway.

I like yours better. The colours fit better.

I'm just finally figuring out these design programs one bit at a time, one day I'll master your skill level...

Tell me though, do you use a digital drawing pad in your arsenal? I'm considering getting one, about the $1000 dollar mark and was wondering what is a good one to go for if any.

Thank you.

I do actually use a drawing pad from time to time. I have gotten pretty good with the mouse but there are times when it just isn't detailed enough. The one I have and use cost me $10. It was a $50 pad that was on sale and I had a half off coupon so I lucked out. It really depends on what you want it to do for you and what you are willing to do yourself.

I can draw really well, but it just takes forver to sketch out a design, colour, shade etc, then scan it and modify it to make a good digital image. A lot of the time the scan kills the picture digitally, and you spend ages fixing the image to match the one on paper.

As I'm still hopeless with a mouse even after all these years, I have been looking at something like a 7inch or 10 inch e-pad. I've looked on ebay but they confuse me as to what they actually can and can't do. I don't want to order one and find out it isn't compatible with either my system or the programs I use now.

OMG, i can't draw flies. Without digital medium, i am lucky to make stick figures that are reasonably proportioned.

Now that I do like.

I toyed with the idea of making into a background, but am too busy packing to go to my second home for a few weeks (having a break now though).

I've always said to people drawing is easy, just slap a bunch of shapes together in proportion, and it almost always works. The Simpsons are the classic example. Just a bunch of shapes together.

But as for digital stuff, you guys are way above me.

You gotta take those over to the Holiday Avatar Contest!!! thread. They'll be a hit.

Remember; one avatar per post so they can see which one gets the most stars.

Good luck.

Back on the first page of this thread (maybe the second), someone was kind enough to provide instruction that goes beyond what I could do justice. Once you go through it, post back here again and we will troubleshoot it with you. For most, it works without issue. For the rest it ends up being a minor oversight of one sort or another.

You can save it to your computer, or you can just use it for the season from my storage I won't delete any christmas stuff until after the new year. And until my HD crashes i won't delete anything I do.

Well phooey, I didn't even know there was a holiday avatar thread going on.

Perhaps I will make an entry, though I'm sure it's too late to get enough stars to win.

Here's the link on page 1 that shows how to do it.

Avatar uploads

Alternatively, you could just copy and paste this link into your 'use as avatar' space under TOOLS+;

h ttp://files.abovetopsecret.com/files/img/qv50c6a573.jpg

Just remember to remove the space between the h and the t before doing so, and hit submit, you should be cool after that.
