The world in whatever form will never end, even when the sun scatters it into the Stella winds it will simply be recycled in some star nursery in the distant future. As for humans well we are doomed to the same process, it's the soul and its many mysteries and Quantum Theories that are the only undecisive factors in the Doom Scenario.
My own Doomsday date from my source is 2182 and the date if you study the effects of the present enviromental distruction, fossil fuels yada yada seems very accurate... Science backs this date or there abouts.
That isn't the end of being by a long chalk....

The Black Plaque would have had to feel like the Apocalypse to those living (esp in Europe) at the time.....1/3 of Europe perished and the black plaque lends itself to the "black horseman" imagery.
And yet, it waas a blessing in disguise. First, those left grew rich(er) because of inheriting the land and possessions of the dead. Immediately after the Black Plague was a time of relative prosperity. Second, the clothes of the dead were a primary ingredient of paper, and since there was so much material, paper was cheaper. The printing press had just been invented, so the combination of the press and cheap paper fueled the Renaissance and change dthe world.
Kind of like the Rapture. If it happens, I get a new car!
The reason? Life on the veldt was tough, and prehistoric humans’ genes were constantly subjected to selective pressure in an environment where the species’ survival depended on it. For humans, that meant getting smarter. ”The development of our intellectual abilities and the optimization of thousands of intelligence genes probably occurred in relatively non-verbal, dispersed groups of peoples before our ancestors emerged from Africa,” Crabtree said in a news release.

Crazy is as crazy does, man. Speaking of "crazy", and referring back to the photo of Marshall Applewhite, can't you just feel the crazy oozing out of your computer screen from that photo?
16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,

we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’

Slayer with all due respect I don't think material things constitute for happiness
Never said it did.
I do have to ask though. Are people grateful for the things they do have? Roofs over their heads, Clothes on their backs, Food in their stomachs? People in their lives who care about them?

Sorry to hear about your Mom! Lost my dad a few years back, closest person to me - haven't cried yet directly over that - unless you give me the Notebook - makes me weep like a baby every single time = brings out every emotion... don't know why I love that movie, which makes 12-21-2012 look like a dream - gonna go sit on the couch now cause the thought of that movie made me sad!!!
The last two times I cried was with the passing of my mother and while watching the movie The Notebook

Just how horrible has their existence been?
Compared to what?
Are you implying that no greater challenges other than indoor pluming have persuaded mankind to dream of a peaceful beginning or that if you have indoor pluming then you have no problems that could exist other than what has previously been addressed with a solution?
