Clouds outside my house were just glowing and pulsating. Video included.

At about 8:00pm today I stepped outside to notice that the clouds off in the distance were glowing and pulsating a very bright orange type of light. I have lived in this neighborhood for more than 10 years and have never seen anything like it. I pointed it out to my family members and they all thought it was really strange as well. The pulsating light seemed to keep a consistent frequency to it and it lit up the whole side of the sky..I called a close friend of mine who lives a few blocks away to ask if he was home so that he could go out to his backyard and he told me he saw it as well and was really amazed and confused at what it could be. The pulsating light in the cloud would sometimes flash brighter then other times and after a while it slowly dimmed down and stopped all together. This entire event from when I noticed it lasted about 20 minutes. I will go outside tomorrow at about the same time and see if I can observe it again. Here is the video

What do you guys think it could be??

Whoa, I'll ask my dad if he saw that. I can say for certain that, is not no cloud lightening. It's way too fast at pulsating to be cloud lightening or heat lightening or even a thunderstorm.

Great capture..

Can't wait to hear others on this.

I'd like to know what is causing that also!

Good job supplying the video though!
Much better than trying to get people to believe you with only a story to go on.

I would guess a lot of people in the area would be calling around looking for answers, too.

Any other weird stuff going on in that area? Animals acting nervous, etc?...

I've seen this before. Low cloud cover and an emergency vehicle casting its light above.

My area was not hit as bad as some other parts and I haven't really seen any emergency vehicles around my area since they took care of everything a few weeks ago.

I understand how that could be it. However, I just don't understand how an emergency vehicle could light up that entire part of the sky so brightly like that.

Thanks, I didn't really observe anything out of the ordinary besides the clouds glowing. The animals were calm except for maybe a few birds off in trees.

I was waiting for you to say it was the return of Jesus.

Kidding... but some how I doubt it's light from an emergency vehicle.

The luminosity generated is more like the strength of a lighthouse light... or brighter.

There is no way some emergency vehicles caused such a bright pulsating in the clouds.

light intensity of e vehicle lighting has increased
pulse rate looks about right too

they're darn near blinding at least the ones out west here
in the past
blinding wasn't even close

I'm starring and flagging this post simply because the OP posted a video of what they saw that is more than 2 seconds long and is not completely grained out like they were using a .02 megapixel camera!

Was there a fire in the area? I have seen similar things in the distance from a fog bank of smoke and an emergency vehicle as one of the other posters had stated. That is my only guess really.....

I can't wait to see how this thread develops.

I am seriously going to LMAO at the first person to insist this is lightning.

I know this event is hard to wrap your head around and there is no telling what it is. When that happens people usually offer up the lamest explinations so that they don't have to go to bed that night knowing that there is something out there that doesn't fit into their neatly packaged worldview.

So, who's it gonna be?

Upon further review, it is clear to me now that someone is just sitting in traffic with their turn signal on.

Seriously though, I hope we can get this on film again on a different night. That would be great.
I couldn't even venture a guess at this point.

I thought that it might be a fire as well. That's the only other logical explanation I was able to conjure up on what it could have been. However, due to the pulsating nature of the light I didn't think that would be really plausible because if it was a fire, I figure it would consistently light up the sky and not pulse at a certain frequency like that. However, I will do some digging and see if there was a fire in a nearby town.

Yes, this definitely was not lightning. There absolutely was no noise or rumbling and there is no way lightning can pulsate like that.

Was thinking the same.

Sir, you may have just caught the greatest anomaly we have caught on tape in...10...20... 30... maybe ever? I'm waiting for others to chime in some very good and detailed descriptions of what they think of this, specifically the hard skeptics -- like Phage.

Are there any news reports covering this? It may very well be an easily explained phenemona, but I'm hoping in this case it isn't!

Nope still not buying that explanation... if they were that bright you wouldn't even be able to look at them without going blind. And aren't emergency lights multicolored?

Thanks for uploading this video and sharing your story.

I've not seen anything like this, and I have no idea what it is. Surely it could be something mundane, but it appears very mysterious to me. What kind of light source could let off that magnitude, causing the entire cloud to pulsate like that?

I've seen ambulance / police lights in the fog. It can show up pretty well. But it doesn't pulsate like this, and fits the color-code of the lights used on the vehicles. This seems to be one color, am I correct?

Unless ten logging trucks were testing out their brake lights... I just don't know

My first thought was emergency vehicles or overnight road works or something, but then as the pulses went on it became a little more erratic and lost the steady timed pulse that would come from a vehicle, unless there were several emergency vehicles arriving and leaving at different times. Also noticed the intensity of light sporadically changed too, which could be explained by more vehicles also. The light also spread over a large horizontal area, even as far as going behind the tree tops/bushes on the right hand side of the frame. Could that be as vehicles arrived and left in that direction, as the light that far over was a lot less intense.

Interesting none the less and I am sure if there was some big emergency in that area you will hear about it from your neighbours or on the news. Please do keep us all updated on that front, as I am sure we are all rather interested in what it could be.

What sort of camera setup did you use to film this?
Also, do you know of any landmarks in that direction (football fields, casinos etc) that might be worth taking into the equation?

Obviously an alien forgot to turn off his turn signal.
Seriously, cool video.

Searching "pulsating light in cloud" on google I found someone else who saw something that looks like what I filmed. Check it out.
