Yes I am from Texas,
Austin voted for Obama, does that mean that if Texas does secede does Austin get to secede from Texas?
there's a petition for that too.....
What part of the Constitution authorizes the federal government to spend public monies on a "social safety net"?

I am not a constitutional lawyer so it is not my job to know the details of the constitution.
Personal responsibility needs social responsibility to make soceity function properly.
And if it is not in the constitution it can always be added later on. Hiding evil intentions behind the constitution speaks volumes of the flawed character of people like you. The document was written centuries ago and can always benefit from amendments because things change.
You are capable of reading correct? Why not peruse through it so you actually know what it says. You had no problem stating the unconstitutionality of recent wars, so either you are lying now about not knowing the constitution, or you simply regurgitate whatever bs you read on your little socialist websites.
I'm assuming you are in your early 20's, likely in college, and unfamiliar with the real world.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to add an amendment to the Constitution? I'm sure you dont. Needless to say it is very difficult, and there is a reason for that.
What evil intentions am I hiding behind the Constitution?
Personal responsibility does not need social responsibility in order for a society to work. If people were responsible for themselves, they wouldnt need government to fall back on. If people ran into a rough patch in life, they are many private organizations, as well as friends, family, etc etc.
As it stands right now, parasites can be on welfare for 5 years. 5 freaking years. If those losers cannot get their proverbial crap together and make their life better , they can rely on the public dime to subsidize their pathetic existence. To make matters worse, these degenerates can be counted on to vote for whoever promises them more of other peoples money.
Desperate measures and some tough love is in order if this country hopes to have a future. Pain must be felt, and in some instances, agonizing pain is deserved. Let them suffer, and soon enough they will either die, or evolve into responsible adults. Either way, society as a whole benefits.

Since you believe the Constitution is so outdated, you certainly wouldnt mind giving up all of your Constitutionally protected rights then correct?
No guns for you peasant.
No free speech for you either, since that whole concept is outdated. Right?
How about we let government agents burst into your house whenever they feel like it ?
You, oh enlightened one, certainly dont need any of those protections.
Right?
As for your age, your avoidance proves affirmative. Early 20's, and not a clue as to what happens in the real world.
Since youre such a big fan of socialism, and I can afford it, how about we come to an agreement. Right here on a public message board, I will offer to finance your relocation to whatever socialist nation you choose with the only condition being you never step foot in the U.S. again.

I live in Texas and since the election I've seen several American flags flying upside down. I'm talking about in nice neighborhoods too. I've never seen that before. Normally Texans seem super patriotic.

25,000 signatures do not represent 25,000,000 people.
Obama won, time to get over it. Maybe the Republicans can give us a better candidate in 2016edit on 11/13/2012 by muse7 because: (no reason given)

Anyone can make a petition, so clearly someone is being a troll since everyone and their mother seems to be making a secede from the US petition. Your gonna get this stuff from both sides, there is also a keep austin texas part of America petition as well. Also the legitimacy of a secession is up for question anyway since Andrew Johnson made a law against it after the civil war but hey go ahead and try.
