I live in Texas and since the election I've seen several American flags flying upside down. I'm talking about in nice neighborhoods too. I've never seen that before. Normally Texans seem super patriotic.

Personal responsibility does not need social responsibility in order for a society to work. If people were responsible for themselves, they wouldnt need government to fall back on. If people ran into a rough patch in life, they are many private organizations, as well as friends, family, etc etc.

That is one of the cheapest slogans conservatives like to parrot to excuse their buddies of all kinds of crimes.

As it stands right now, parasites can be on welfare for 5 years. 5 freaking years. If those losers cannot get their proverbial crap together and make their life better , they can rely on the public dime to subsidize their pathetic existence. To make matters worse, these degenerates can be counted on to vote for whoever promises them more of other peoples money.

I don't care about stopping welfare because people like you support outsourcing and automation that has killed america for 20-30 years. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Profits come first only for parasites like wall street. Capitalism is just as big a failure as communism was and it will be proved.

Desperate measures and some tough love is in order if this country hopes to have a future. Pain must be felt, and in some instances, agonizing pain is deserved. Let them suffer, and soon enough they will either die, or evolve into responsible adults. Either way, society as a whole benefits.

I hope the pain is felt severly by those responsible for bankrupting america with false flag attacks, the corresponding wars, the people who hide all their evil deeds behind an outdated constitution, those that outsource and those that criticise welfare and unions.

All these people up in arms and the best you can do is file a petition?

Your gonna get this stuff from both sides, there is also a keep austin texas part of America petition as well. Also the legitimacy of a secession is up for question anyway since Andrew Johnson made a law against it after the civil war but hey go ahead and try.

This is morose. Stripping citizenship is not secession. There is no parallel.

Further, it is demeaning free speech by enacting official punitive action as a result of free speech.

While I do not support the stripping of anyone's citizenship, if I did it would be the folks who think that stripping citizenship is the obvious end game for speaking your mind.

The state of Texas can't "secede", as we are a part of the union by treaty. Andrew Johnson's law has no bearing on us.

Regardless, if Austin wants to leave Texas, good riddance. They are too much like California for me. Bunch of fat, horned rim glasses wearing hippies shopping at Whole Foods in their ugly yoga pants and turtleneck sweaters.
