You see this is half the problem, people like you waltzing into threads without reading half the content. I think you will find that someone had already posted a link to the local newspaper of that area that confirmed that this same thing had happened the year before. Here it is again Telegraph and argus report

Are you sure about that link? The only mention of Asians is in relation to two Asian cadets who were spat at by the youths.

Two Asian girl cadets were also verbally abused for selling poppies and two other sellers were set upon in the city centre. One young poppy seller had her tin snatched from her shoulder.

I just googled for the genuine Bradford account of Muslims abusing/attacking poppy sellers and noticed how many anti-Muslim organisations have released stories in the past week about it. A cynic would suspect they are using this Remembrance Day to incite hatred. Oddly enough, the lack of news stories from actual news sites kind of undermines their BS.

Maybe some of the members in this thread would enjoy this? Muslim youths start a poppy appeal. Nah! Wrong kind of Muslims aren't they?!

The thread topic was Cadets in Liverpool being abused by Muslims and there's no evidence at all that it ever happened. Instead of members asking why a Nationalist website would make up racial/religious scare-stories we're off down the road of random anecdotes, inaccurate story links and nothing at all to do with Liverpool or Cadets.

I think you have been far to quick to move this to the Hoax bin Kandinsky. We have a legitimate News story from a source in Bradford saying the same thing has happened there. We have Muslims burning poppies and screaming obscenities during funeral parades and general hatred in many parts of the country including like I said here in Birmingham were we are having similar problems.

I understand your suggestion that right wing propaganda have an agenda here to put across false information but unless we can know one way or the other how in the hell can you be so certain that this is a hoax given the circumstances? If that's the grounds on which threads are moved to the Hoax section then over half of ATS should be in there!!

I'm not talking about why the minders are there but the fact that this disgusting act has happened at all. The fact that the racial identity of these animals has been omitted from the artical only strengthens my suspicion that who did this would be a Muslim with extreme views. This happens all too often in the British media for fear of stirring up the racial bucket. Just look at all the Muslim grooming that happened recently. It has been suggested that action was not taken sooner because of the fact they were all Asian and Muslim. Lets be honest for one second here. There is only one group I know of in this country that would show so much hate to the symbolic poppy as I've seen it first hand. I am not saying by any means that all Muslims behave in this way but everyone here are pretending there is not a problem and defending it!!

When a moderator participates in a thread they lose the right to moderate the thread and become members again within the thread.

It's about ethical moderation and a very good idea.

As such I have had no say whatsoever in staff actions or moves to hoax. I think it's more the case that members in Liverpool have shown it never happened and members from elsewhere couldn't find any evidence either. Therefore it was the members who kicked it into the hoax bin.

At the end of the day, Liverpool is my home city and we've got enough problems there without nationalist minority extremists shouting 'fire' in the theatres.

Looking at the replies here I am actually astounded to see so much racism. Obviously children shouldn't be manhandled and I wasn't there to witness the truth of the event but maybe it didn't go down as reported, this could be one of many reportings which are designed to encourage public opinion more and more in favour of war with muslim countries. Logically, doesn't it seem a little off that people would just attack children over poppies? It makes more sense if you consider that perhaps the kids got into a verbal dispute and were thrown out. The fact that a shopkeeper or two were muslim might be exploited to turn it into a part of the pro war campaign.
If poppies are about remembrance they would be free, it is shocking when you see what the money is used for so I don't think children should be handling them anyhow but I encourage you all to reconsider opinions about stories like this and keep racism and ignorance out of it.

In other country that Shopping Mall would've been torched to the ground with them shop keepers in it! No wonder other races can get away with murder, literally! And yes, the offenders would've been Muslim, I know this as this happened in London and then when it was looked in to be investigating officers to flag similar incidents, it was flagging up all over the country, hundreds and hundreds of incidents! However, do not put all Asians in with this, this is not all Asians, these are people of Islamic following in particular and obviously not all Muslims are against the poppy, but you would be shocked just how many are, even if they are not as aggressive as this scum.

I said the same when I lived and grew up in East London, funny enough nobody took any notice of me, probably because I was white and English, but I'll think you'll find people are having what the mainstream would consider as "racist views" because the whole issue of race is filled with hypocrisy and blatant one sided bias! Which is fine if you have another country to flee too, unfortunately most of us were born in this country and several generations of ancestors born in this country and so we have nowhere else to go to, yet get treated like aliens in our own coutnry! I should know. So whenever another race other than white is highlighted, its racism, whenever certain beliefs associated with such race or group is highlighted, its racism. It's only racism because people at the top don't want to admit that this country is an absolute mess and all that has happened through years of uncontrolled immigration is pockets of areas where people have not integrated one bit and worst of all, these same people were left to harbour racist beliefs themselves towards the people of the country that they chose to come to! You can call it the PC point your finger and shut your mouth label of racist and then that's it, we're all racists, then what? Will that stop this country heading in the direction its heading in? No! Will that make the problems and issues go away? No! I think you will find my comments were in general amd actually this has happened in many areas across the country, assaults and threats relating to the sale of poppies. You can say its an attempt by the far right and perhaps that story is, but I see on a daily basis crimes of similar nature going unreported in the media, yet crimes that are shall we say, reversed being reported everywhere. So if this story brings to light the issue then brilliant. I will never forget ten years ago the same was happening about groups of Asian men drugging and raping young white girls, that was met with a similar response as you have just given and I dont need to tell you what has come out in recent years. The truth will always win, in the end.

I don't mean that everyone should shut up and go away, I'm simply hoping that people might open their eyes to the fact that this racicm is encouraged in order to justify genocide. It is easy to destroy something you hate and to get the tax payer to pay for it there must be a mechanism in place which encourages the dehumanisation of whomever the percieved enemy is. In this case it is muslims- whos beliefs and practices and history are only as backward, violent and sordid as christianity's. The immigrants everyone is so quick to look down on are by and large willing to work hard and pay taxes as our immigration policies deny them the luxury of sitting around watching TV and boozing it up on job seekers allowance. Our 'wonderfull white britain' has become a nation of spoiled children.
