@Brain.......I believe you when you say you are neither conservative nor liberal. But if your intent was to suggest you are independent thinking then you have jumped the shark. I don't believe you watched the Maddow video. There is nothing she said that wasn't honestly how she feels. She believes the two party system is important and that the other side has needed valuable contributions to make for solving our Country's problems. The readers here can either agree with this or not. You could be more intellectually honest by simply stating that you do not agree with her.
I didn't read everyone's comments, so I doubt you are alone in your myopic views. There is nothing to debate in this thread. Maddow gave her opinion and her message to the GOP and the message again is that the two parties have to work together if they are going to address our problems and come up with the best solutions, not a Democrat solution, not a Republican solution, but an American solution. What would our Country look like if the founding fathers were all Federalist?
If you believe your guns are going to be taken under this President, you only responded to this thread because you saw "Maddow" in the title and just wanted to attack the left.
Here is the thing. Both...Both of what you say above are false
September 12 -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: "We are working to determine the precise motivations and methods of those who carried out this assault. Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. America's commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is no justification for this; none."
September 18 -- Jay Carney: "Our belief, based on the information we have, is it was the video that caused the unrest in Cairo, and the video and the unrest in Cairo that helped -- that precipitated some of the unrest in Benghazi and elsewhere. What other factors were involved is a matter of investigation."
CNN
September 13 -- Jay Carney: "The protests we're seeing around the region are in reaction to this movie. They are not directly in reaction to any policy of the United States or the government of the United States or the people of the United States."
Washington Times
Speaking at the opening of the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday, President Obama portrayed the deaths of four Americans in Libya as a result of inflamed tensions over an anti-Islam movie produced in the U.S., rather than a terrorist attack.

Maddow isn't the first one to say it and it was hardly a rant. It sounded almost pleading.
The truth is that the GOP got it's buttocks handed to it on a plate and she and others are explaining why.
I think it was Haley Barber who said. You know you are in trouble when someone asks you how the "rape" guy is doing and you have to answer "which one?"
