You forgot two things
1) always always always ridicule people who don't agree with homosexuality. Accuse them of being homophobic and a closeted homosexual. The more negative assumptions you can throw at them the better.
2) pump up women's self perceived rights. LOVE ABORTION, and ridicule anyone who disagrees as sexist and misogynistic.

One more for good measure,
Always tolerate "outside of the box" thinkers when it comes to religious or spiritual things. People who claim to find their "merkaba" and are enlightened because they watched some youtube videos are always well received. However, don't tolerate any Christians. They are all wrong.

An idea of Stars as Poker Chips on ATS, now that would REALLY be something. I LOVE Poker. ATS really does need a Game like Hold Em so we can do something useful with our Stars or dare I say it...ATS Points!

An idea of Stars as Poker Chips on ATS, now that would REALLY be something. I LOVE Poker. ATS really does need a Game like Hold Em so we can do something useful with our Stars or dare I say it...ATS Points!

That would be sweet...like using each star as a token to put into a slot machine or something of the sort...or re-deem them for some sweet looking ATS exclusive avatars and clothing!

I really think ATS should delete the star system.

You are forgetting that one of the rules of economics is that people respond to incentives. Without a star system, people will be less apt to post worthwhile comments, and then this whole site falls apart and it will become your AVERAGE Forum of thought.

Btw, what a biased statement coming from you. What the heck are you doing on this site if you think that way ?

I agree with your first paragraph..

But the second, how is it a biased statement coming from her? People can still have a life and still come on ATS. An hour a day on ATS, or even a few isn't enough to effect real life relationships. So I wouldn't say she's biased with her statement.

ATS could remove stars and flags and it wouldn't bother me, I don't use them on other forums I visit - I get to know people through their posts. P.S don't star this post :p

edit - I also think the star system adversly affects a persons opinion on certain subjects, rather than evaluating the merit of every post you take a bias view of the post with the most stars, hardly a way to encourage intellectual debate. The political based forums are a joke for stars, people just starring a post because it supports their political stance. Agree with most of the OP's points, witnessed them many times.

Agreed. There are a few females that get a lot of stars, but it is generally due to the quality of their posts. There has only been one female that I ever saw constantly getting flags and stars for high school drama type threads, but this is not the norm.

Good post OP...I will not get any stars for my post merely because I am on the 3rd page. Being on the 1st page helps tremendously.

Towards the OP: Excellent post, I generally see such things, and can just easily tell its obviously a quick star + Flag grab and nothing else. They tend to look smart and act like they understand what their talking about, and some people buy into that and instantly flag & star. Pretty annoying, but to each their own.

Towards whom I am replying to: Evil dead is an excellent movie, one of my favorites to be honest! Did you see the trailer for the remake? Looks great!
