In effect, we should just turn a cheek, because terrorism was only affecting a small minority? Where would we be if the United States never stood up for the disenfranchised minority? By your reasoning, we should only police the good neighborhoods because the bad neighborhoods already have crime; I am sure that we are broadening the effect of criminal activity by fighting it near its home, maybe we could just cordon off certain parts of cities so we could pretend like crime doesn't exist.

If someone punches me due to a misunderstanding or disagreement I have two choices.

I can punch back and expect their friend to join in before they have a chance to think.

Or I can use my mind to defuse the situation and find ways to have their friend help me calm them down so we can go back to playing pool.

Both paths will result in being punched sometimes when you don't want to. However one moves us towards relaxing and playing a friendly game of pool... and one results in far more punches and far less pool playing.

We have been told by Tory government today that terrorists are going soon to attack our shopping centres over the Christmas time weeks and New Year, mind you saying that we have heard this news for the last 8 years and nothing yet.
However we do know that the UK have around 28,000 people within it that have been to the middle east in last 7 years to train to attack the UK.

If your Family was killed, would you:

A) Say "them the Brakes".
or
B) Strap on a Bomb and ask for Directions.

There is no Taliban and there is no Terrorists, threatening the USA, what appears to be so is not.

British nationals created Wahhabism after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. US nationals created Al Qaeda to fight the Soviets. US nationals also overthrew the Shah of Iran because he did not want to play ball with the Petro-dollar. So again who exactly are the terrorists?

So basically he is admitting that "the war on terrorism" has been a complete colossal failure.

maybe if they had spent the last 11 years and over 2 trillion dollars securing our borders, ports and air terminals instead of running all over the world chasing ghosts, the terrorist wouldn`t be more of a threat than they were before 9/11/2001.

I`m no military tactics genius but it seems to me that when your attacked you should consolidate your forces at the point of the attack and set up a secure perimeter and not going running around willy nilly chasing shadows.

the point of attack was right here in our country so thats where we should have consolidated our forces and secured our borders, ports and air terminals to keep more terrorists from entering the country.We would have some some very secure borders now after 11 years and 2 trillion dollars of upgrading our border security
