What's Ironic is they are talking to a racist they just don't know that he is actually racist against the very same people, he just likes exploiting the dumb xenophobic rednecks so he can capture their reaction and loves perpetuating that hate. A perfect example is the clip I posted earlier, and the article.

I thought I was finished posting in your thread last night. But, I have a question. What *exactly* is your goal with this thread. TIA

My god.. what does that matter?
Hitler's water colors weren't a munscript of meinkampf (I know that analogy hyperbolism, but you get my meaning). So if a guy tells 4 jokes and only 3 of them are racist then he can't be a racist?

No goal just voicing my opinion.. I mean, the OP is about Borat and if it is a "religiously vilifying and racist creation."

There you go comparing Borat to Hitler again. That doesn't fly here...but, it does get me closer to seeing your agenda..

What?
Can you not read? First off "again" implies I compared him to hitler in the first place. Second I admitted that it was a hyperbolism (meaning I am not really trying to compare him to hitler or think it's of that scale but it gets the point across).

So what is my agenda? Well what did you think it was before I pointed out how your previous post didn't make any sense.

What I need to know from you is - why is it only racist when he portrays or villifies muslims? It seems your ok with him targeting Jews, Christians, Feminists, Elite white Christan ministers and their wives, Gays, Nazi's, Uzbeks, etc., but its the Muslim thing that gets you? Why is that? Prey tell?

Borat is a character that brings out the worst in people. You get to see the real side of Americans because they think they're talking to a racist/sexist/everything-else-ist, and don't think it will be aired publicly. They all sign Kazakh looking waivers saying they'll be in a documentary for their country. It's a genius way to bring hate out of unsuspecting people and catch it on film. Remember the college kids on the RV? Or the country guy at the rodeo talking about gays/muslims? Genius.

The joke is on the people he gets a reaction out of. He is not genuinely disparaging anyone, he is giving real-life people the opportunity to do it, and expose it. If anyone sees Borat and think he's a genuine Muslim/Arab that actually thinks that way, agrees with what he says and doesn't see the point of exposing the hate, who cares? Seriously, who cares what someone that dumb thinks?

For good or bad, freedom means that if somebody wants to be a racist douche, they can.
It was a stupid movie, but he's free to make it.
If someone hates the movie, they're free to say so.

Banning the movie is not freedom.

Sorry if freedom offends anyone.

For gods sake man. He's NOT racist, the actor actively campaigned against race hate in his youth. It's called SATIRE.

I discourage real life racism. I'm such a non-racist person, but I have no problem finding humour in Borat, because it's just humour. It isn't meant to be taken seriously. Just because somebody finds it funny doesn't mean they are racist in the least. I also grew up watching horror films, but I don't go around dismembering people with chainsaws.

You would have some real fun listening to some of the other British commedians like Bernard Manning, Jim Davidson and Freddie Starr

I find it funny when all these Muslims cry about how they are portrayed in the media, but fail to look at the TV programs they brainwash their children with about Jews? Pot Kettle Black?

You are a loon if you believe that. He is a zionist which means he is pretty much fundamentally opposed to Palestinians. He supports their detainment. Also he has made three very racist movies. And even if you don't want to count Borat because you think there is some moral his other movies were peppered with racism against Arabs and Muslims.

It's not like I am the only person that thinks this. Millions upon millions know this, and feel this. Are you Arab? Are you Muslim? No, you are an apologist. I have again backed up all my claims with evidence, videos, and sources, and again a bunch people come in and feed me garbage with nothing to back it up.

Hey.. I didn't say their shows weren't racist too! I am glad you agree it's racist along with the racist anti Jewish shows shown in some Arab countries. At least we are getting somewhere.

I am not talking about just Borat. I am talking about the man himself. He is a racist. His other movies are racist and therefore you have to consider that his humor in Borat, even if it seems parody, might come from a very real place. And considering his zionism and rips on Palestinians all evidence is in my corner.

Those that don't get Sasha Baron Cohen's humour are those who are too old and stuck in their ways to understand the content in todays world, like my parents (in their 70's) or just people who don't have much senses of humour (as Borat would say) LOL.

Or maybe its because they identify with the character Baron-Cohen is playing and feel he's making fun of them

He gets better with every movie, he is genius, pure comical genius!

Lol.. what the hell are you talking about. I knew who ali g was and I never said anything to the contrary. The first time you mentioned it I told you I didn't watch his show but I have a friend that loves him.

See, you are so full of it you don't know what you are talking about. How can we even have a discussion?

What's your opinion on ALI G?

Ali G. I don't know, I never watched his show, but my friends did. I am not trying to cry overblown conspiracy theory, but it is pretty obvious with this guy. Why would he try to do such a thing to a respectable guy like Ron Paul of ALL people. Have you seen his movies?

edit on 11-10-2012 by GogoVicMorrow because: (no reason given)

I know who he is and had seen his show before (just not watching all the episodes) But I certainly knew who he was, I just said I don't know if he had an agenda then because I didn't watch it all.
