Reminds me. I need to get back in the air.

If I was him, I would have wore 'wings' seen above.
Much more mobility, maneuverability and air time.

"Wings" wouldn't help much up in vacuum.
Neat idea for lower down though...

its called off for today due to wind

I posted this on page 1 and yet after 4 pages of "It's on in half an hour" and "countdown has begun" it has finally sunk in.
No offense to dedpope as he actually realized it was aborted.
Please people, READ a thread properly and you won't waste your time waiting for something to happen that has already been rescheduled......

The abort message you posted on page 1 referred to a 24 hour delay.
That was yesterday.
Today, 24 hours later, they tried again... and it was aborted for a second time.

Australia Bloke.

Back on topic, I hope He goes up today because I'm really looking forward to this.
I'm very curious as to how the human body reacts to breaking the sound barrier and the subsequent pressure wave.

I remember reading how the first Jet fighter prototypes were losing parts and wings whilst breaking the sound barrier.
What's going to happen to a squishy human????

Had the live link running this morning at work, bummed that it was aborted - read that it may also be a no-go tomorrow.

It would save me a day of waiting for something that will not happen, if you could provide us with a link.

Like seriously

That would explain the time difference

We don't know what will happen to him, he could turn into a pink mist or like usual nothing strange will happen and he'll be fine

Can't provide a link - it was a trailer update on the Red Bull live link site - ran it right after the lift was called.

You don't want to spend another day looking at clouds? It was so much fun this morning!

Barring any equipment malfunction, he'll be fine. The space he will accelerate thru to the speed of sound is mostly vacuum. It's the reason he can go that fast in the first place... no friction.

How is this guy going to withstand the blow from the sound barrier? Wouldn't he go deaf? Dude is nuts, I was looking down a two hundred foot has been waterfall and remembering someone tell me that the difference between someone who is crazy and one is isn't, is that the one who is crazy would think about jumping off of the waterfall and actually do it without reasoning it out while the one is isn't would think about all of the consequences.

Anyways, this man has kahoneys.

Thanks for the video.
Never seen that one.
Got an adrenaline rush just watching it; that's a 1st.
I trust those fellows have rode that valley more than a few times?
That would have gave most folks a heart attack or at least a very wet suit.

So some guy is jumping out of a balloon from really high up.

Ok.

Why do we care about this?

And remind me to look into Redbull's stock. They must be making a boat load if they can constantly spend $ on these stunts.

Honestly do some research instead of wasting oxygen not caring about anything but you.

I think a pressure suit like that could be used on Mars.

Our 10/10 launch of the Red Bull Stratos capsule had to be stopped at 11:42 a.m. local time in Roswell, New Mexico just before Felix Baumgartner's giant 30 million cubic foot balloon had been fully inflated and made ready for take off. From early morning the team postponed the launch due to strong winds at 700 feet - the balloon's top - waiting for the right weather window to open. The launch was scheduled for 11:40 a.m., the balloon inflation had begun, and then gusty winds picked up and made a launch impossible. *The next weather window for Felix Baumgartner and Red Bull Stratos opens on Sunday Oct 14 - a three day pre-alert as well as daily weather updates will follow and lead into the next launch day.
