Wow! Corporations have succeeded in brainwashing a whole lot of people. Apparently you can fool a lot of people all the time.

Rich Business people built society. Companies built the roads, cards, cities, hospitals, day cares, computers, phones, airplanes you all benefit from. Even prior to their massive philanthropy and charity they created much of the world we live in. They carry the majority of tax money. "Evil" is much more prevalent among the poor. Compare the homicide, rape, infanticide, vandalism, robbery and other crime statistics of the poor with those of the rich. And yet, most people blame the rich for all evils, thanks to cultural mass-indoctrination through Academia and Hollywood.

No, they didn't!

People built society, and then a certain scummy segment, wormed their way into positions that allowed them to screw over everyone else.

Government built the roads, cities, hospitals, computers, paid out the money for the advancement of most of the technology we enjoy. The telephone, electricity, television were all developed by men who were never rich.

While there are certain sectors of poor people who commit most of the crimes, statistically, the rich commit just as many. Only because there are so many more poor people, they commit more crimes.

There are rich people who gained their wealth honestly and decently, because they are very talented, intelligent people who were in the right place at the right time.

And there are vast numbers of equally talented and intelligent people who contribute just as much to society, who never climb above middle class or working class society.

Then there are intelligent people who are driven by their inner demons to prove they are better than everyone else, and they are going to prove it, or die trying. A certain percentage succeed at their goals, and they screw everything up for everyone else.

After reading the entire thread, I had to laugh. It was either that or go insane.

Can't believe the hostility from so many educated people. Can't fathom the lack of compassion that grows.
When it's our turn to reach a certain level of success, and pay our dues, . . my how we change our beliefs.

The insanity of it is this, both sides are right ! The insanity of it is this, both sides are wrong !

How do we fix things if we can't stand the rich ? Or we can't stand the poor ? We can't get along at all, can we ?

MONEY, MONEY CHANGES EVERYTHING . . . . . MONEY, (C.Lauper)

I think the easiest way to identify evil people is to look for people hell bent on identifying some group or other as evil people - the ones who are hell-bent are the evil ones...and that is why they are hell bent!

Here's my definition for an idiot adult:

Someone who still believes in the concept and usefulness of the term "evil".

If you don't like someone, poo on them.

If you can't poo on them, just walk off.

Here's another way to look at it- How many of these people would you like to meet, be in the same room with, or even emulate? Precious few in my book. Many are entertainers- vapid, mindless and built and marketed to appeal to mankind's lower impulses. Sports figgers? Do I even have to explain that one? Others are politicians. Who wants to be a politician, or like one? A party with all these people invited would prove intolerable to me and I'd exit in minutes. Maybe they're not so much evil as lower-quality or lacking.

The best way to identify evil people is to gauge their views and actions with yours. If their views are different then they are evil.

You know, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. You don't have to be rude to make a point....in fact when you are rude, people are less likely to even care about your point of view. A little kindness can go a long way in situations such as these. You don't have to get angry to debate something. If you're confident in what you believe you've no need to go on the offensive.

I'm just sayin'..........

I do not know what the point of YOUR sermon was because I did not read it. I won't be preached to or spoken to derisively, sarcastically or disrespectfully. However I am more than happy to hear someones unvarnished opinion though it may be the polar opposite of my own. Just as I am willing to entertain respectful disagreement, I expect others will be able to take it from me. If not? Why should I trouble myself with your opinion at all? Have a great day!

this is the echo chamber at work bigtime.

No one within the Obama administration has so much as implied that being a success is evil. You are merely repeating the right wing echo chamber.

Somehow, wanting the middle class to not pick up the tab for wealthy tax breaks, now equates to "Rich people are evil, lets all be entitles to their money!"

This thinking is ludicrous, false and dangerous.

I did read your post, either you did not effectively make the point you intended, but from my perspective, you have defined "evil people" as those who have a higher income. Their political affiliation appears to be an after thought.

My opinion remains valid.

Your opinion would be "valid" if you could understand the WIT in this post. Sheesh...Some people....

The term, "evil" is plenty useful. Usefulness of sarcasm against it to make a point is none. You are alone, not to be confused with elite. Billions, with a "B" understand evil and understand of level of goodness that you are lacking. Instead of sarcasm, try a book. Evil isn't Christian or Muslim. Evil is an absence of goodness. "Goodness" now being your target for mockery, you will make fun of God. The idea of, the mechanism of and purpose of God and goodness is greater than you're tiny little sarcastic mind is ready for. Keep trying though! Stop pooing on things, you'll get it on you, too.

It is scary that most of the moderators are right wing oreintated. I have not met any liberal or progressive ones to date. Maybe John Lear was correct to infer that ATS is a cia black-ops outfit for social programming. Even ufos and aliens are mocked to death.

Evil has nothing to do with money. Evil is in the alma, the soul, the heart; a lack of compassion or empathy for those less fortunate.

It's painful to watch a person whom I respected so much fill their heart with bitterness and make themselves unhappy.

on a side note....

Succumbing to the negative and harboring spite will make you physically sick as well as emotionally unstable.

My what mixed group have posted in this thread. Seems you have hit a nerve Valhall!

The prove it brigade showed up. Philosophers are now debating what evil is. Post police are equivacating over effective value of pinning nomenclature.

Keep up the good work, op.

From the perspective of a citizen from much smaller country than United States (just a few million people), it kind of amazes me that no matter, what it is the head count of a country, it is always seemingly possible to tell what people are using purely political labels like "democrats" and "liberals". There is over 300 million humans in the USA. That is a huge number of humans and I felt overwhelmed by the idea that even a few percent of them all would be thinking uniformly about something -- like, right at this moment. No wonder many are forced to use infographics and statistics like these to understand the big picture:

Gallup.com: States of the States: More States "Competitive" in Terms of Party Identification
Gallup.com: State of the States: Map, sort, and export state data across measures
