I can't wait to see the actual text/transcript of the speech....

You just KNOW it won't line up with the charged "he said" statements of those already committed to a specific judgement.

But it is amusing to get the one side in advance....

Hasn't he said, many times, that he wants to wipe Israel of the face of the Earth?

On 26 October 2005, IRIB News, an English-language subsidiary of the state-controlled Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), filed a story on Ahmadinejad's speech to the "World Without Zionism" conference in Tehran, entitled: Ahmadinejad: Israel must be wiped off the map.[3] The story was picked up by Western news agencies and quickly made headlines around the world. On 30 October, The New York Times published a full transcript of the speech in which Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying:
Our dear Imam (referring to Ayatollah Khomeini) said that the occupying regime must be wiped off the map and this was a very wise statement. We cannot compromise over the issue of Palestine. Is it possible to create a new front in the heart of an old front. This would be a defeat and whoever accepts the legitimacy of this regime has in fact, signed the defeat of the Islamic world. Our dear Imam targeted the heart of the world oppressor in his struggle, meaning the occupying regime. I have no doubt that the new wave that has started in Palestine, and we witness it in the Islamic world too, will eliminate this disgraceful stain from the Islamic world.[4]

I remember the last time Gadaffi set up his tent and spoke at the un when much of the us was against him. At the time my only thought is why if he is an enemy of the us would we let him speak here. Since then i have found the truth of our injustices in that case.
We will have to see how events turn out of this.
It will be really damning if he actually has valid points during his speech.

I agree that the Iranian government is not very fond of Israel, as they are constantly exchanging rather threatening rhetoric. We both know we will never agree on the previous translations/mistranslations that have been discussed in the past, but why on earth would the Iranians like Israel? Israel is constantly threatening Iran...in plain English too so there is no chance for mistranslation.

That most love RT Russian Television echoed that "rhetoric" even tho I can't stand RT?

www.youtube.com...

Right tho will never agree,

Also, when Mahmoud speaks about Israel he is speaking about the Zionists within it, as he has acknowledged that there are good people in Israel. And let's please not say how much he hates Jews because we all know that is a lie due to the fact that Iran has a rather large Jewish population that lives in peace and harmony.

Yeah Yeah heard this but:

The largest group of Persian Jews is found in Israel. As of 2007, Israel is home to just over 47,000 Iranian-born Jews and roughly 87,000 Israeli-born Jews with fathers born in Iran.[7] While these numbers add up to about 135,000, when Israelis with more distant or solely maternal Iranian roots are included the total number of Persian Jews in Israel is estimated to be between 200,000[1]-250,000.[2]

en.wikipedia.org...

Yeah It's wiki oh well,

I would have no choice but to at least ponder the fact of how Israel was formed and what it has done since it's formation. Don't worry, I'm not painting all their neighbors as saints as they clearly are not eithe

The Jewish people have been there just as long as the palestinians

It's just that Israel is kind of the "big fat pink elephant in the room" in the ME and it can't just expect it's neighbors to gladly accept their policies that are put in place in the region.

Actually Isreal is the favorite scapegoat in the room,

complete lies. anyone who knows ANYthing about this...knows that if anything, the man is anti-zionist

which means he is against the lucifierian/pseudo jewish anglo saxo BANKING cabal that hijacked the world and their corporations

folks , they constantly misquote this guy. i see SOME news articles are quoting him correctly by the correct term--zionist

this man is not a jew hater in the sense they want you to believe

like chavez, iran is one of last anti cabal holdouts

and he is saying same thing the SHAH did

if he was so evil there is no way they'd allow him front row tv space tonite on piers morgan , cnn, colleges, etc

I believe he is allowed to exist so they can misquote him and use it to demonize the great empire of persia

There is a sick game the us has been playing with many countries it is money/aid for nuke capabilities.
Many countries have been rewarded with help depending on how much of a threat the are or can become. So leaders have played ball in order to get paid.

However this has always not had anything to do with a countries hate for the us or other countries. All that has been put on the side burner for a payday and when the us feels it's enough then off with their heads. There are not many heads left.

he is anti-zionism which i bet 98% of the people on this board would agree with him on

the constantly input "israeli or jew" in place of his "zionism" references

by design..because the US media is owned

Just to make it clear, I'm a white dude from Canada, but if I were to view the situation as an Arab/Persian in the ME I would have no choice but to at least ponder the fact of how Israel was formed and what it has done since it's formation. Don't worry, I'm not painting all their neighbors as saints as they clearly are not either. It's just that Israel is kind of the "big fat pink elephant in the room" in the ME and it can't just expect it's neighbors to gladly accept their policies that are put in place in the region.

Sorry if that was a bit off topic..back on topic...I would really like various members to truthfully translate this for us so we can decide once and for all if he really said this. Mahmoud is kind of a loose cannon, especially when they give him the mic in NYC as he likes to put on a show so maybe he did say this, all I want is factual confirmation and not reports from what I consider to be very biased outlets when it comes to this situation.

Regrettably it's damn near impossible to find any unbiased sources so it's a double edged sword.

bingo! bingo bingo!!!!

do you really think a MAN who was stirring up anti jewish speech and killing jews would be allowed to go on US tv??? LOL

again, he is a pawn in the game. i bet cnn beeps out his zionistic references tonite. can't have sheeple asking what zionism is and what Matrix movie it was in too

I see how that works,

As I mentioned in my first post in this thread we would never agree on the translations/mistranslations on the previous statements, but from what I gather it is quite clear he was mistranslated, including confirmation from various Farsi members on ATS, and admitted mistranslations from certain agencies. This information is all spread out through various threads but I am confident that you have seen it.

Tell that to these people:

Ahmadinejad is also set to meet American university students, artists, intellectuals and elites, including Occupy Wall Street anti-capitalist protestors, despite the ongoing efforts made by the pro-Zionist lobbies to prevent direct link between American people and the Iranian president.

No I am not saying that and am unsure which part of my posts gave you that impression so perhaps you can elaborate to help clear the confusion.

I don't recall saying that but I can certainly say with certainty that all outlets are biased including but not limited to Press TV, FOX News, CNBC, CNN... we must question everything that comes from these sources...filter out the BS and put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Are you unaware of the previous threads that proved his statements to be mistranslations. First off he was quoting someone, and the quote itself was misrepresented.

Hopefully a fellow member can help find a link to this because I'm feeling kind of lazy right now so I'm not really helping my side of the debate

Yeah, I saw that article but there's nothing on Occupy sites, twitter, facebook, friends of mine... nothing about it at all. Occupy is typically against starting a war with Iran, we are in solidarity with Occupy Tehran that does NOT in any way, shape or form translate into supporting a Dictator.

Occupy Wall Street members do not intend to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, despite a report from the Iranian state-sponsored Fars News Agency saying otherwise.

“This is nonsense propaganda,” Dana Balicki, a member of the Occupy Wall Street PR Team, told The Daily Caller. “There is no organized effort on behalf of OWS to meet with Ahmadinejad,” she said. “None at all.”

It is important now to keep your eyes on the prize.

Iran is one of only three countries left in the world whose central bank is not under Rothschild control. Before 9-11 there were reportedly seven: Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Cuba, North Korea and Iran. By 2003, however, Afghanistan and Iraq were swallowed up by the Rothschild octopus, and by 2011 Sudan and Libya were also gone. In Libya, a Rothschild bank was established in Benghazi while the country was still at war. Rothschilds Want Iran’s Banks

"Who told thee that?" cried Ahab; then pausing, "Aye, Starbuck; aye, my hearties all round; it was those evil zionist's that dismasted me; those evil zionists that brought me to this dead stump I stand on now. Aye, aye," he shouted with a terrific, loud, animal sob, like that of a heart-stricken moose; "Aye, aye! it was that accursed zionist that razeed me; made a poor pegging lubber of me for ever and a day!" Then tossing both arms, with measureless imprecations he shouted out: "Aye, aye! and I’ll chase him round Good Hope, and round the Horn, and round the Norway Maelstrom, and round perdition’s flames before I give him up. And this is what ye have shipped for, men! to chase that evil zionist on both sides of land, and over all sides of earth, till he spouts black blood and rolls fin out. What say ye, men, will ye splice hands on it, now? I think ye do look brave." (36.32)
