And republicans want to get rid of regulations on businesses like BP. They also want to continue off-shore drilling minus all the regulations that already exist! What reality do you live in?

Only a conservative can in one breath complain about regulating big oil and protecting the environment. And then complain about the environmental impact of it when the inevitable happens. Way to go.

Sure, we can get off of foreign oil because of America's natural gas wealth. Romney claims we can be energy independent (ambiguous statement) within 8 years.

But this rush might lead to poisoning the water supply, among other risks.

Despite some failures, Obama's commitment to solar and wind energy is a major boost for me. Let's get energy independent, but do it responsibly and in a way that is more sustainable in the long run. An all out shift to natural gas could really stagnate the growth of renewables. Even if we have enough energy for 200 years, it's still a limited resource.

I'd rather see a push toward wind,solar,tidal, geothermal and experience growing pains now than prolong the entire problem for another century or two.

We need job creation at the rate of 250,000 jobs per month for nearly three straight years to get employment up to pre-recession level.

For those who dont get it.

By these measures our economy has continued to decline or at best moved sideways over the past few years. Perhaps this explains why, when you talk to neighbors, friends, and relatives they don’t feel good about the state of our economy.
