Sam Bacile, Anti-Islam Filmmaker, In Hiding After Protests
LOS ANGELES (AP) — An Israeli filmmaker based in California went into hiding after a YouTube trailer of his movie attacking Islam's prophet Muhammad sparked angry assaults by ultra-conservative Muslims on U.S. missions in Egypt and Libya. The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three American members of his staff were killed.
---------
Bacile, a California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew, said he believes the movie will help his native land by exposing Islam's flaws to the world.
--------
The two-hour movie, "Innocence of Muslims," cost $5 million to make and was financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors, said Bacile, who wrote and directed it.
---------
Bacile's film was dubbed into Egyptian Arabic by someone he doesn't know, but he speaks enough Arabic to confirm that the translation is accurate. It was made in three months in the summer of 2011, with 59 actors and about 45 people behind the camera.
The full film has been shown once, to a mostly empty theater in Hollywood earlier this year, said Bacile.

Staff and crew of film that ridiculed Muslims say they were 'grossly misled'
"We are 100% not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose," continued the statement, which was sent to CNN by a member of the production staff who asked not to be identified for security reasons. "We are shocked by the drastic rewrites of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred."
--------
Consultant Steve Klein told CNN he worked with Bacile on the movie and said the filmmaker had gone into hiding.
"He's very depressed, and he's upset," Klein said Wednesday. "I talked to him this morning, and he said that he was very concerned for what happened to the ambassador."
-------
The movie, which was posted in July on YouTube, got more notice after Egyptian television recently aired segments and anti-Islam activists, including Egyptian-born Coptic Christian Morris Sadek, promoted it online.
Terry Jones, the Florida pastor whose Quran-burning last year sparked deadly riots in Afghanistan, said he had been contacted to help distribute the film.
---------
"The film is offensive to the prophet and immoral," said Egyptian Prime Minister Hashem Kandil. "We call on the great people of Egypt to exercise restraint when expressing their anger."
Muslim sensitivities around Prophet Mohammed
The prime minister called on the United States to take legal action against the makers of the film, though it was not clear that it violates any U.S. law.

It's rather surprising you're not condemning Islam and blood-thirsty Muslims who react to freedom of speech with murder.

Israel didn't have anything to do with the film. An American Jew made the film to attack Islam and Muhammad. It's a problem with Islam when it's followers react with violence and murder when criticized. Would Christians be offered a "free pass" for murder if tomorrow we collectively decided to riot and murder people when a film came out that was critical of Jesus or Christianity?

Whether he promoted the video or not, U.S. authorities were so concerned about Jones that Gen Martin E. Dempsey, the chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, asked him not to post the controversial 14-minute video in fear it could further inflame tensions in Libya or Egypt.
Jones said he told Dempsey that he would “definitely consider it,” but later told reporters he would ignore the request during a lengthy interview in the building that once housed his congregation.

Our investigation into Jones past showed him to be a trained CIA asset with direct ties to the Mossad. He served in Germany for years as an organizer for the CIA under the highly secret “Gladio” program until expelled by the German government. You can be a CIA agent, even a terrorist bomber but in Germany, if you buy a mail order PhD, it is a crime. “Dr.” Terry Jones would have been better off had he called himself “Agent” Terry Jones.
VT offers its heartfelt condolences to the family of Ambassador Stevens and the families of the other Americans lost in Libya.

The media of the State of Israel stated that filmmaker “Bacile” went into hiding on Tuesday after his movie attacking Islam’s Prophet Muhammad sparked angry assaults by Muslims on US diplomatic missions in Egypt and in Libya, where the US Ambassador Chris Stevens became one of four Americans killed in the attack.
What the speaker did not state for foreign audiences was that Israeli zionist intelligence had protected the filmmaker since the beginning and that after having accomplished his mission. He is probably now back in his Israel enjoying full protection in Tel Aviv or Herzliya or somewhere else under a pseudonym.

Why are you posting about Terry Jones? He wasn't the filmmaker. Secondly, lets assume the filmmaker was the president of Israel, how would that address the reaction of the Muslim murderers? The bottom line is these thugs retaliated to a fictional movie with riots and murder. Will that fact be addressed or will you continue to ignore it? Why does the source of the film excuse murder?

Hidden Agenda Behind The Libya Conflagration
Which brings us to the little matter facing the USA because of a certain film that was produced within its borders. Let’s see, we have one dead ambassador and 3 other dead US personnel, two destroyed embassies and lots of explaining to do to the world community.
---------
Otherwise this nation – the USA – risks being addressed by a power much greater that the might of Islam. When an Israeli free-speecher like Netanyahu throws his weight around so cavalierly and without a shred of consideration for the recipient of his offensive threats, the entire body politic of the world is debased. Especially when so few stand up to confront his shocking and egregious displays and threats of unjustifiable aggression.

Meet The Right-Wing Extremist Behind Anti-Muslim Film That Sparked Deadly Riots
Klein is also closely affiliated with the Christian right in California, organizing resentment against all the usual targets — Muslims, homosexuals, feminists, and even Mormons. He is a board member and founder of a group called Courageous Christians United, which promotes anti-Mormon, anti-Catholic and anti-Muslim literature (including the work of Robert Spencer) on its website. In 2002, Klein ran for the California Insurance Commissioner under the American Independent Party, an extremist fringe party linked to the militia movement, garnering a piddling 2 percent of the vote.
----------
Klein appears to be allied with the National American Coptic Assembly, a radical Islamophobic group headed by Morris Sadik. Sadik claims to have discovered the film and began promoting it online. Once it went viral, the trailer was translated into Arabic, sparking outrage in the Middle East, and ultimately, to the deadly attacks carried out by Muslim extremists today.
Klein claims credit for inspiring “Sam Bacile” to produce “The Innocence of Muslims,” promising him he would be “the next Theo Van Gogh,” referring to the Dutch columnist who was murdered by a Muslim extremist. Of the attacks in Libya, Klein said, “We went into this knowing this was probably going to happen.”

The provocateurs know politics and religion don't mix
It only takes a couple of loonies a few seconds to kick off a miniature war in the Muslim world
---------
There’s the rub, of course. Some things are off limits, and rightly so. Others have no limits at all. Several radio presenters asked me yesterday if the unrest in Cairo and Benghazi may have been timed to “coincide with 9/11”. It simply never occurred to them to ask if the video-clip provocateurs had chosen their date-for-release to coincide with 9/11.

Terry Jones was not the film maker. For two, Terry Jones answers for Terry Jones. I don't, neither does any other Christian. Lastly, I'm rather concerned that Muslims would result to extreme violence and murder in the name of Muhammad and Islam. I don't care about 'shooting myself in the foot'. If Orthodox Jews are against Christians then I should bless them as Christ said to bless one's enemies. We send missionaries into Muslim nations to bless them, build schools, offer food and free medical care even though they murder us.

Israeli Arab Official Warns Of ‘Armageddon’ Over Anti-Islam Film
TEL AVIV, Israel (CBSDC/AP) – Israeli Arabs protest outside the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv Thursday following the attacks on U.S. compounds in Libya, Egypt and Yemen.

Obama told Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi “he rejects efforts to denigrate Islam, but underscored that there is never any justification for violence against innocents and acts that endanger American personnel and facilities,” the White House said.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called the “Innocence of Muslims” movie disgusting and reprehensible.

US Identifies Anti-Muslim Filmmaker Blamed for Attacks
The official said authorities had concluded that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was behind “Innocence of Muslims,” a film that denigrated Islam and the prophet Muhammad and sparked protests earlier this week in Egypt, Libya and most recently in Yemen. It was not immediately clear whether Nakoula was the target of a criminal investigation or part of the broader investigation into the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya during a terrorist attack.

An official of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Los Angeles said in a statement Thursday that the church's adherents had no involvement in the "inflammatory movie about the prophet of Islam." An official identified as Bishop Serapion of the Coptic Orthodox of Los Angeles, said that "the producers of this movie should be responsible for their actions. The name of our blessed parishioners should not be associated with the efforts of individuals who have ulterior motives."
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups, said Klein is a former Marine and longtime religious-right activist who has helped train paramilitary militias at a California church. It described Klein as founder of Courageous Christians United, which conducts protests outside abortion clinics, Mormon temples and mosques.

DOD: Gen. Martin Dempsey opted to phone Florida pastor
The military’s top uniformed leader decided on his own to phone an extremist Florida pastor linked to an inflammatory anti-Islamic online video, the Pentagon said Thursday – no one else asked him to do so.
Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey called Florida pastor Terry Jones on Wednesday to ask him to withdraw his support for the video that some reports have linked with anti-American unrest in the Muslim world, a spokesman said.
-----------
When asked at a press briefing about whose decision it was to call Jones, Pentagon Press Secretary George Little added: “Gen. Dempsey was willing to call pastor Jones. The kinds of words and actions that pastor Jones has spread have incited violence and have led to deaths, including in Afghanistan and including American service members. I think that’s why he called. It was a brief conversation and pastor Jones was non-committal.”

In a rare public commentary, YouTube said in a statement that maintaining an environment in which all opinions can be expressed, and which everyone can enjoy, "can be a challenge because what's OK in one country can be offensive elsewhere. This video – which is widely available on the web – is clearly within our guidelines and so will stay on YouTube. However, given the very difficult situation in Libya and Egypt we have temporarily restricted access in both countries. Our hearts are with the families of the people murdered in yesterday's attack in Libya."
The video was posted in early July by a user calling himself Sam Bacile. It received only a handful of views for two months, when suddenly it was dubbed into Arabic – then shown on Egyptian television, enraging conservative Muslim viewers.

What is the topic of this thread? Is it me now? Christians? Orthodox Jews? Israeli government? Mossad? The CIA? Rev. Terry Jones? The American-Israeli filmmaker?
Focus man. Someday get to the actual problem of Muslims resorting to violence and murdering in the name of Muhammad over a fictional movie. That's the big problem here, not what some person chooses to say with their constitutionally granted right of freedom of speech.
You never saw Christians rioting and murdering diplomats over The Da Vinci Code.
