Oh heck... I should have known better these days but to check the US Navy's inventory before saying anything at all. I remember not too long ago when one could feel fairly confident in replying to a thread and not finding the whole basis the thread is centered around being complete fiction. I'm not suggesting the OP knew..because we can't know that and it seems rude to assume it....but Wow... Yeah.. No such ship except for some people's crazy wishful thinking. I'm keyed a bit like everyone else with looking for the wild and unexpected leading to Nov and Dec I suppose.

This is going to be interesting.

VT clearly know very little about AEGIS ships if they still think of them as 'state of the art' or 'cutting edge' defensive systems.....Against current missile technology the AEGIS is obsolete.

AEGIS doesn't have sufficient fire director systems to deal with the payload of even a single Tu-160 (twenty-four supersonic cruise missiles).....At best it might get a dozen of them before it is sunk.

Slightly off topic, but felt it was worth pointing out.

Yep, there is no such ship named the USS Rachel Corrie.

There was a MV Rachel Corrie that was part of the Palastinian blockade run earlier.

Dempsey is already ready to nuke Israel. His 'dissent' is no act of the administration. He knows what siding with Israel would lead to, and he also knows what Israel is capable of when desperate, in the current time period it is in.

A Chief of the Joint Chiefs will not allow America to be destroyed on his watch, no matter how vile he might or might not be.

1967 was chalked up as collateral damage, as the US 'gambled' with involving itself with Israel to begin with, as now we see the outcome of bad betting, to try to leverage your own position, when your opponent naturally is card counting.

The Military no longer supports Israel, for the stakes are to high, for such a low pot to begin with.

With Africa yielding to the Chinese economically, Israel is a lost cause at this point, for any further betting against, or for, for China will dominate Africa economically, and whoever controls commerce controls power right now.

This will not last long, as the ones consuming the vast quantities of precious metals, raw materials(this is all China of course), and whatever else you can get your hands on, will eventually hoard the entire stockpile within the Nation, and use it, but mainly sit on it.

All the stuff being made today by china is the "dross" from the precious, that is sold to 'everyone'.

As the hoarding continues, the value of it will go up.

How does this affect, and effect Israel?

The more obvious question, that will affect Israel, is how will these tactics by China affect the US, which obviously is the protection force of Israel?

That double domino will have vast repercussions in the speed of topple, once these two are turned over.

I would also suspect that since this destroyer is better equipped than the USS Liberty to defend themselves that the Israelis thought better not to attack a real warship not a lightly equipped surveillance vessel.

Israel is not our ally or they would not be meddling in US politics and spying on us.....

If I were president when Pollard was caught I would have broken all ties with Israel and stopped sending them welfare payments!

Israel and the Jewish ideology have been damaged beyond comprehension since WWII and they have turned into a militant state that is jut as bad as those they fight.
