The US Navy AEGIS Destroyer, Nicknamed the USS Rachel Corrie, Warned of Attack.

Apparently the US Navy does not want a repeat of 1967!

I love this part of the tale.
He didn't miss and hit the wall ... lol

Whatever America’s loyalty to Israel may be or may have been, abuse of the highest military officer of the world’s greatest military power by an angry little “pissant potentate” from a “seaside sand heap” nation, the difference between “tail” and “dog,” one forgotten by President Bush is not going to be forgotten by this president

Veterans Today covers Israeli affairs often.

Interesting if true.

I would imagine that it would have been blamed on someone else, possibly Iran?

Well hopefully this time if they want to have a repeat of the USS Liberty attack they will run into a stiff resistance from a battery of US military technology. I hope we blow up every last one that tries to attack any of our naval vessels. Send a strong message. No more shenanigans.

“We knew the region was ‘hot’ after two Turkish jets were downed by Syria but a warning about an Israeli attack during a joint exercise is almost bizarre if not unreal. There are few if almost none in service who still feel there is a grudge to settle over the USS Liberty incident.

Honestly, is Mossad giving this site false info to discredit them further or they are just that smart themself?
Dear ATS posters that buy this stuff - enlighten me, what 2 Turkish jets were downed by Syria?
How you can trust this "source" if it has no clue about what it says is beyond me.

I hope so. However - can you tell me what 2 Turkish jets Syrians downed? It is what source quoted in your source said.
And it is false info, as far as i am aware of.

Aticle about little green men from VT

You can't even access VT from DoD comps.

To call the Israelis pissants is a grave misconception they can fight and are very cunning. Using America like an older brother to fight its battles wasn't stupid, manipulative yes, underhanded yes, but overall they succeeded in a lot of what they wanted done without a full on war with 3 countries by using us. At some point thou you need to pay the piper and that time will come very shortly if they pull this crap. The day the USA actually gets good intel from the middle east that doesn't have mossad propaganda written all over it will be the day we pull support and that day will be a reckoning. They have bankrupted the hand that protected them with these stupid wars.

You are pronouncing it wrong.

It's not 'pissant', it is pronounced 'pissant'

Okay, so we're going to protect Israel from being attacked by Iran. No, wait! We are going to war against Israel. No, wait! We will probably be in a war against Pakistan. No, wait! We are going to attack Iran. No, wait! The American Embassy in Egypt was just attacked by protestors, so we'll probably go to war with them in the future.

No, wait!!!

When are we going to just get the hell out of the region and let them blow themselves to kingdom come!

We put up with all of this crap for oil? JEEZ!!!!!

I hope someday we can take a true and honest look at the U.S.S. Liberty incident and accept what did and did not actually happen there. It was a CIA Intel ship the Israelis actually thought was double dealing them by feeding the Egyptians intelligence. Had Israel have wanted to destroy it...or had that been clearly identified as Egyptian, one plane and two or three shots would have had it become a submarine with all lost inside 5 minutes. Gone, done and over. *POOF*. The fact they did toy with it...and the fact a Carrier Battle Group had planes in the air and en-route to assist..only to be recalled and cancelled on the help ought to speak volumes.....

Sorry.. with a few already mentioning that oft misunderstood incident..I had to toss my two cents in. Every mention of US Navy and Israel in the same story seems to require a nod to the Liberty as if it was a fishing trawler minding it's own business on a quiet sunny day.

Now...more directly to the topic, I can't help but think we JUST had notice from another member of possible 3 week Alert status being raised on U.S. Military units. That message didn't say *ALL* Military. It specifically said the information came from the lips of a Naval NCO. Navy.... Alert....warnings of specific actions against U.S. Naval vessels...

Could the two be related? I'm getting a bad feeling about September.....just like this time LAST year, only there is no Elenin to be distracted by this time. Hmmmm

thats morbidly funny, us's skit of running articles for the msm warning that israel is going to start something.

placing blame on its own proxy? how unoriginal, pathetic..... and transparent of us

The other thread was about an Navy RESERVE officer shirking jury duty... thread here.

This thread is about a specific ship the USS Rachel Corrie an AEGIS Destroyer. An AEGIS is a beast. AEGIS. It only rolls with strike groups. Why the one ship of an entire group would get the warning and not others is also suspect imo.

The other thread had some people suggesting he was lying... I'm still of the opinion that an NCO in the United States Navy would be insane beyond belief to risk his rank and perhaps his whole career to skip Jury duty. A call from a Judge who just heard one excuse too many that day and decided to call this one out could have destroyed the man...and he'd know that. It makes me lean hard to giving his words more than a passing consideration. Especially when...just a day or two later...we have very specific threat information apparently down to the specific name of the vessel being targeted.

Now THAT would make the whole U.S. Navy take offense and likely do precisely what the Chief suggested in open court. Raise alerts and call it's people back where those people could conceivably be needed in a surge deployment during major trouble. Just my thoughts and why the two seemingly separate events formed a link in about half a second. 90% of the trivia I hear never finds context....perhaps this piece has. I HOPE I'm 100% totally wrong. We're in for serious trouble otherwise.

E-9s are like gods man. They can do pretty much whatever they want, both in the Army and the Navy.

Besides ask ANY sailor, you never get that rate without a little backstabbing (Navy is brutal.)

ETA: SOCOM units aside.

It is a well known incident that was in all the papers, but I think it was one jet with two Turkish military personnel inside, both killed.

I know about 1 Turkish jet. But if a source that claims to be informed in what happens in the area is so obviously misinformed about the only fact that it mentions and can be double checked , trusting the rest of the message is much harder in my opinion.
But if it seems trustworthy to you - be my guest.
Oh, and another thing - i could not find USS Rachel Corrie among the Aegis cruisers. Source is misinformed about name of its own ship too, apparently.
