READ THE WHOLE OP.
Oh Please...I did! What is hillarious is this bit from your OP article...
Unskewing this data to make up for the likely 25 percent under-sampling of independent voters shows the results are quite different. With the weightings of independents, Democrats and Republicans conducted by the Rasmussen numbers, this poll's data would indicate a Romney lead over Obama of 53 percent to 45 percent.
Hmm...Okay...Then the farthest right leaning pollster in the business, one which has been hammered for using insanely GOP bias weightings...is the new standard? OK..let's check out Rasmussen's latest polls!
TUESDAY, Sept. 11th
General Election: Romney vs. Obama
Rasmussen Reports
Obama 48, Romney 45
Obama +3
What does that tell you when the most Romney friendly poll...AND THE ONE YOUR ARTICLE LOOKED TO USE TO MAKE IT'S "reality is not reality" argument...shows Obama ahead?
Or how about EVERY other poll???

Why do I always imagine folks get a little twing of pain in their frontal lobe when they work this hard to deny reality.edit on 11-9-2012 by Indigo5 because: (no reason given)

I suggest you study the Actual Poll Data (if you're into polls, that is...)

There hasn't been a single "FACT" posted by either you or your OP article that hasn't been thoroughly debunked by reality.
You started by claiming that the sample was nearly half of what it was.
When BH directed you to the actual survey explaining the falsehood/error...you pretended not to notice.
You went on to ape what your OP article contended...that if Rasmussen's weighting system had been used it would show Romney UP 6 points.
I pointed out that unfortunately for you and the "Examiner" Rasmussen did in fact just release a poll...and it showed OBAMA +3 over Romney. A full 9 points in the wrong direction of what you and the OP article claimed.
Your response to the onslaught of facts and reality was what?? A threat that some Mod might find facts and reality offensive content and remove my post?
If I were you I would just count your blessings that your OP wasn't moved to the Hoax forum...since it is a construction of falsehood and error.

Did you bother to look in the examiner article I posted? It has the same data that BH was alluding to.
This survey's sample includes 397 registered Republicans and 441 registered Democrats.
But the survey included a total of 822 registered voters, leaving only 37 independent voters at most. The survey clearly under-sampled independent and Republican voters.
Interviews with 1,022 adult Americans conducted by telephone by ORC International on September 7-9, 2012. The margin of sampling error for results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The sample also includes 875 interviews among registered voters (plus or minus 3.5 percentage points) and 709 interviews among likely voters
With the weightings of independents, Democrats and Republicans conducted by the Rasmussen numbers, this poll's data would indicate a Romney lead over Obama of 53 percent to 45 percent.
Cnn/Orc latest polls unskewed would put romney up by 8%. From their latest polls, Independents are way undersampled, while Democrats are oversampled. And of course, Republicans are undersampled.

Last try here to help you...
EXAMINER

THE ACTUAL POLL
Interviews with 1,022 adult Americans conducted by telephone by ORC International on September 7-9, 2012. The margin of sampling error for results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The sample also includes 875 interviews among registered voters (plus or minus 3.5 percentage points) and 709 interviews among likely voters
Not a "total of 822 registered voters"....A total of 1,022...875 registered voters....The Examiner changed 875 to 822 and then called that 822 the total while not counting the 709 likely voters...
EXAMINER
With the weightings of independents, Democrats and Republicans conducted by the Rasmussen numbers, this poll's data would indicate a Romney lead over Obama of 53 percent to 45 percent.
Actual Rasmussen Poll results today
OBAMA +3 ... a 9 point difference in the wrong direction than what they claim Rasmussen would show
Nothing personal...but nothing about your OP or article is living in reality.

Check Rasmussen tomorrow.
This Obama foreign policy in Egypy and Libya has blown up on all of the networks.
MSNBC and CNN are trying hard to cover for Obama but it's not working.
The photo of our dead State department official just hit the Drudge Report.
Apparently, he died from smoke inhalation.
Libya assassination trumps Obama political BS.
