When they recognized the mess they created the DNC pulled the old "cheat & retreat" trick.
It's too late. The damage has been done. They made it much worse when the majority of the
delegates voted to purge God from the platform 3 times !

God was denied 3 times on the floor of the DNC. 3 times denied by the masses who were clearly louder than the believers.
Except for the nightly benediction that closed every evening with a prayer.

Why should God be in a political platform? Maybe they took it out because they are too principled to wrap themselves in religion for political gain like the Republicans do.
Remember, in America there is no requirement that I show respect for your God or even tolerance for your religious views. What you believe is your problem and your business, not mine. Resisting the knee-jerk reaction to mention God to please the religious is a sign of maturity for the Democrats.

No wonder they moved Obama's speech to the indoor venue tonight. I'd be worried about that lightning bolt too.

GOOD, there is no room for God in politics. There is a reason why the repbulican party gets called the Taliban nowadays. It's nice to see the democrats going in the opposite direction. Religion is dying in this country. They shall prevail.

Separation of Church and Sate
no platform should be forced to run on 'God' nor should any president be forced to believe in 'God', and if a president doesn't believe in 'God' he should not be chastised so,
i don't support any political party, i don't support any Government Party, this is not a 'Liberal, Democrat Republican' debate,
this is 'freedom of Religion' be it any Religion, the World should not be run based on 'religion'

What's with this new idea that God belongs in government, and how we're supposed to believe that it's always been that way?
This is the United States of America.
This country is not God's favorite, nor is it a requirement to be religious to live here.
Should we also put ravioli in government? How about Santa?
Using religion in anything government is a fool proof way to move BACKWARDS

Some recent debate has focused on the extent to which Akhenaten forced his religious reforms on his people. Certainly, as time drew on, he revised the names of the Aten, and other religious language, to increasingly exclude references to other gods; at some point, also, he embarked on the wide-scale erasure of traditional gods' names, especially those of Amun.
In the eighteenth dynasty, Akhenaten changed the polytheistic religion of Egypt to a monotheistic one, Atenism of the solar-disk and is the first recorded state monotheism. All other deities were replaced by the Aten, including Amun-Ra, the reigning sun god of Akhenaten's own region. Unlike other deities, the Aten did not have multiple forms. His only image was a disk—a symbol of the sun.
Constantine the Great (Latin: Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Augustus;[3] c. 27 February 272[2] – 22 May 337), also known as Constantine I or Saint Constantine,[4] was Roman Emperor from 306 to 337. Well known for being the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity,[notes 4] Constantine and co-Emperor Licinius issued the Edict of Milan in 313, which proclaimed tolerance of all religions throughout the empire.
[exIt is Plato's best-known work and has proven to be one of the most intellectually and historically influential works of philosophy and political theory]In it, Socrates along with various Athenians and foreigners discuss the meaning of justice and examine whether or not the just man is happier than the unjust man by considering a series of different cities coming into existence "in speech", culminating in a city (Kallipolis) ruled by philosopher-kings; and by examining the nature of existing regimes. The participants also discuss the theory of forms, the immortality of the soul, and the roles of the philosopher and of poetry in society.[5]

Ruined the convention?
LOL.
This site and Fox news are literally the only two media outlets in the country still talking about this.
Everyone else is talking about Clinton's speech.
Some of you need to step out into the big world once in a while and leave the echo chamber behind.
