Who wants to live in a country where people like this control the reins of power? We might as well annex Afghanistan. I am not sure there is a worse line that can be crossed...yet a not insignificant percentage of the Republican party will actually cheer that comment.

Last I checked Blago is not Republican. The point of the thread is bashing the GOP for stupid statements. But it's truly funny watching you all defend stupid Democrats.

Why do Republicans care so much about abortion? Why is it always a political issue? Does anyone in the world agree with them? Didnt we all agree on this years ago?

www.pregnantpause.org...

Chile
El Salvdor
Malta
Vatican City

They are four countries that Republicans should consider moving to.

I know not all Republicans think the same thing but wouldnt you disown a political party that constantly used such nonsense to pander to the redneck christians/evangelicals?

It has nothing to do with a stupid statement. Stupid statements are one thing you know like 89% of what comes out of Palin or Bachmanns mouth. Totally and completely different than a party platform so far off the rails that some of their members want to put women who have been raped in prison for life. I will happily take a dozen Bachmann's that are only dangerous enough to pass light bulb legislation over this clown any day.

Are you suggesting that stupid beliefs do not belie stupid statements?

It really is extreme, it is a complete disconnect with reality and lacks a basic respect for women.

The GOP better hope these nutsacks get the boot.

Well now I am suggesting that you stop defending the indefensible.

It is making you look like you are on the side of this mans statements
rightly or wrongly so.

So now you are saying
All the dumb GOP statements represent their platform but the Democrats stupid statements don't?
And they truly meant to do that.
I think it's personally insane the DNC is making free contraceptives their party platform. And they truly meant to do that.

Really man.

You are NOT winning

Let people have the liberty and freedom to decide when they are going to have children.

If you are for smaller government, stop taking the big government road when it suits you.

It's not the government's job to provide contraceptives. You are way out of bounds on this one. This is not about keeping people from deciding to have children or not, it's about govt being involved in our lives. Demanding I pay for someone else's birth control and abortions is beyond the pale of controlling Statist govt.

For the record I am not a sir or a man.

So don't even go there.

Why would they?
That seems like a really off type of disconnect. Stupid statements many time represent stupid beliefs. Why would they be in conflict with one another?

I see a huge difference in say anything the two entire books full of stupid things Bush said and this lawmaker suggesting an extreme stance on what policy he has some say in should be. Do you not?

Why do Democrats care so much about it that they made it their entire DNC theme? I mean Sandra Fluke thinks women should have free contraceptives just because!

I'm not trying to defend the the Republican who said it, I am just trying to show how hypocritical it is for people to pin this stuff on one party.

Access to contraception would help to alleviate the need for abortion. No? If one is trying to find responsible and humane responses to a problem, then one shouldn't throw all options off of the table IMO.

Just my .02 cents.

It would, but why is it someone else's responsibility to pay for it? I am not against contraceptives, I just think it's ludicrous for these entitlement advocates demand I pay for theirs.

Social problems require social solutions. None of us live in a bubble. Personally I'd rather provide contraception free of charge than to bear the social burden of supporting unwanted children for the first 18 years, and possibly longer, of their lives.

Morality sometimes has to give way to fiscal responsibility. There is no way any western nation is going to go back to 200 year old methods of governance now. So finding the most cost effective and humane options are what's left to work with.

Ms/Mrs are defending a man who wants to put women in jail after being raped and I am the
the Statist???

Did I ever demand that you pay for someone's contraception?

Once again my post on stupid liberal comments was a response to some guys ignorant statement that GOP as a whole have low IQ and why would you defend such a concept?

How many times do I have to expressly say I do not condone or support what he said? You are just being bullheaded and obtuse. Furthermore, I find it insulting that the Democrat Party is reducing women's issues to this.

My opinion is that the GOP has courted some pretty crazy people in the last couple years.

This brand of conservatism has a contingency that believes in these ideas, these people
should be ejected out of the party as they are rather daffy.
