To the extent that you are a member of ATS ... you ARE a mod and you don't need no stinking mod status ... you just need to become VERY familiar with the ATS T&C's, the various alert buttons and the complaints/suggestions functions ... and apply them.

Also realize that every moderation action taken on ATS is never taken lightly and is always discussed behind the scenes by two or more mods ... it is no god like status and is in fact VERY HARD WORK!

Finally ... you already got paid since you are an ATS member and are able to use the websites functions to further your own agenda and which cost TAN MEGABUCK$ to provide.

IMHO, all threads asking how to become a mod should immediately be moved to the Jokes forum so we can star the funny replies that are the inevitable result of these threads.

What does matter. If you want to mod. Do it and use the alert button. You will not get paid for it though.

You can be a mod very easily.

Mods normally have to do the following:

Break up fights.
Get after or punish people for saying mean/insulting/belittling things.
Help people be in the right place (sometimes many times before they get it right).
Help people figure out where they put their posts or threads that are lost.
Be blamed for everything that goes wrong.
And do many, many other thankless jobs that need to be done to keep things running smoothly.

If you want to do all that for FREE just like the mods on here, then this is what you need to do:

Go out and have children, and raise them.

The mods, admins, and even us owners, ARE "just like you" (the members). We ALL were members at the beginning, the only one who didn't start out a s a "member" first was Simon, he's the Founder/Creator.

It shouldn't be too surprising that we staff love this site and see to help those who love it with us by facilitating the spread of their ideas on a global scale..

The best way to "help" is to post awesome content. Content people can't find anywhere else.
