Cute Heff; I haven't been gone that long...

I was already there....I didn't see a debate there...which means that I am showing my age says the guy who may have figured it out while typing this...I start the debate thread, don't I?

I'm so used to the mods doing that I just expected it to be there...lolz

Now I get it! Ya gotta remember, I came along right as the old debate forum was winding down... never knew that the mods used to start the debates!

I read your post, shrugged, and thought maybe the forum had moved from one menu to another one or something along those lines.

Attention Fighters!!!

I was supposed to move today. In fact everything I own, other than this computer, is sitting, packed in boxes, a few feet behind me. But, due to a series of last minute miracles, I am NOT going to be moving! I don't know exactly how long I will be able to stay - but the next 2-3 months is a lock!

So, yay life, yay me, and viva ATS Debate Forum!!!

Just like before... if you need any debate stuff and I don't respond to a post here within a few hours, just U2U me a heads up about whatever is needed! I'll get it handled!

I haven't been active much here in the last few months, but I thought I'd let it be known that I'm super happy about Heff having the opportunity to continue his presence on the site. Since I joined last summer, Heff has been a major influence on my thinking and always in a positive manner.

Now,

I wouldn't just post here to boost Heff's ego.


So, I'll suggest a debate topic for anyone who wants it.

I'm from New York, and I believe that NY is the most influential/important of all US states.

Anyone willing to oppose me on this topic, which I will take the pro on:


New York is the most influential state in America.

I have to postpone until the end of the semester...so mid May at least. Sorry...I thought I could do it (I've already done the research for the debate there is just too much n my plate)...

I posted this before but it might have gotten lost.

Strong arguments could be made for Florida, Texas, California, or even Virginia.... Is no one willing to go against NY?

Sorry for not bumping this for the past 2 days... the pollen count here has been above 4,000 recently and allergies have been decimating my energy and ability to do anything other than sneeze and pray for a quick death.

Today seems to be a bit better.

Fighters!!!! Where are y'all at? Don't make me pull out my "tapping in Morse code on the side of the monitor to try and find y'all" plan... because I'm not entirely sure it'll work.

Would that debate topic mean that the US also used nukes...not just NK?

Druid, I need to apologize for not coming through on the "Commercial Software versus Open Source" debate -- I tried starting a couple of times, but it just wasn't something that I could sink my teeth into.

However, I have my dander up about an issue that I posted here: Should we take eggs from aborted babies? I will take on any challengers (I would take "con", of course.)

My first post in the NYC debate is up.

Sorry for the delays folks. The pollen count in Atlanta for the past several days has been near or even above the 8,000 mark and my allergies have been absolutely gnarly!
