PatrickGarrow17 and I have agreed to debate:

Was Columbus a positive or negative influence on the world?

I would like for a mod. other than myself, to approve this if possible. Thanks!

Welcome aboard the ATS debate team. Glad you decided to join in! You can challenge members in here or via u2u.

Hope to see involved in a debate soon. After the current debate I'm in, I'd be more than willing to accept a challenge. I do, however, have three topics in queue, so I'd be partial to stick to them.

How about:

Is religion a set-back to personal intellectual advancement?

You can choose yes or no.

My second reply in the Time Machine Debate has finally been posted.

/begin off-topic ranting/

To me, that was a long delay, but I was lost on real life issues. My dedicated ATS laptop (a 750 Mhz, 1 gb Ram running Mint 8 Linux) was being backed-up and upgraded to a new unit (2.13 Ghz, 2 gb Ram, running XP), in which I installed Mint 10 from a CD I had burnt a while ago. Out of curiosity, I downloaded Mint 13, the latest LTS, and after burning the DVD, I had to reformat it with XP and Mint 13. Yes, I do run both OS's but rarely use XP.

The delay was primarily caused by playing with Mint 10 for a while, but mostly by tinkering with the new Cinnamon desktop in Mint 13. OMG, talk about perfection! Benchmark after benchmark yielded amazing results, and there are enough applets to keep you occupied for quite some time. I had to overcome the learning curve from the ancient Mint 8 desktop to the amazingly modern Cinnamon style. Needless to say, I have a new dedicated ATS laptop, running smooth as silk.

/end of off-topic ranting/

Messaged Mr.Lizard a whiles ago, but I assume cos I was lagging after stupid operation interest was lost there.

Other than that I suppose I'm still pretty free. Might end up debating with druid at some point, not sure.

Second reply in Time Machine debate posted. And, after spending most of the evening reading a book called The Philosophy of Physics: Space and Time, I was ready for bed hours ago, lol.

I`ll take that one up if you want. I can see how both sides can be argued but would like to have the "no" side because Im curious what its like to argue that.

If you are ready you can go ahead and create the opening post ("New Thread"). There are no rules on how to open a debate but you can check out some of the other debates to see how they do it.
