The Conspiracy against ATS chat

Hey all. I think this constitutes as a conspiracy as the thread states. It's a great feature and no one on here seems to use it. Come chat and relax while still perusing the best threads anywhere on the web. The fact that it's always empty makes me think that there's a conspiracy somewhere here. So come in every once in a while and get to know your fellow ATSers better. We are one big community. Let's brainstorm the biggest conspiracies out there.

I only recently was able to get into chat and keep forgetting about it now. I have met some pretty nice folks there though.

It's probably empty because people can't get into chat. When I click on "Click here to agree to the rules and enter chat", nothing happens. I can never get into chat. I've been thinking that chat was just down.

I've tried two different browsers and still can't get into chat, so it will probably remain empty.

I can't wait to chat but I don't have enough posts so hopefully it picks up some time....

That's pretty good! I have only seen it at about 7 or 8. I have wondered why so few use it though. It's a good question to ask.

Well I just tried to connect to chat and my java is not working. I clicked the link from the chat window that came up but it wanted to download a search engine on my browser...

Explanation: S&F!

I generally am in chat a lot of the time ... but specifically I have been more absent recently due to personal reasons.

Chat has high and low tides of population mostly based on the fact that although the internet is 24/7/365 and global that individual members have their own local timezones to contend with.

Furthermore chat is Java based and Java hates Flash and one must keep them both updated regularly to stay concurrent with chat [every 2wks] regardless of which browser is being to access chat.

i think the bar to get in was set
pretty low for sometime maybe 50 posts and over oh and i had to make my screen size 75% to get past and click link to get in way at the bottom

I can see why they want a 150 post....

So I was going to let you know why....and .... I said to myself...how is 150 post going to help achieve the art of chatting? If your dumb to begin w/ or highly intelligent...how is 150 post going to change that...

But then...

It lets people understand ATS so much better so they'll beable to put the chat down better by understanding how ATS works...

Now I think...I don't know crap!!! lol

I usually go into the chat on Saturday nights during the ATS live show. It can get pretty wild at times depending on the subjects being discussed. I am just not one for internet chat that often so I choose to only log into chat during the shows.

FWIW I popped in a bit tonight and everyone was great, friendly, and funny. More people should try it. I enjoyed it a lot.
