Mideast, you have been known to be one of the least accurate minds on this website. In this matter, it will not be to you that I look for answers.
I know consensus is a horrible way to judge something
But I tend to look at a posters POST to STAR count, its the best way to spot a troll in my humble opinion.
If there post count is larger than their star count that means they spend alot of time simply making statements that no one agrees with, not even one member out of the 300k that come here thought many of their post deserved even 1 star.
Not the best way, but it does say something.

Summary of Buddhism (which also negates every religion in the world)
Going by the title of the OP...I'm getting the impression that you are think Buddhism is an antedote to other faiths that you seem to have a problem. Its as if you've joined a cool new club and your'e flashing your membership badge around.
You think Buddhism works for you? Fine.
But ask yourself if Buddha intended Buddhism to "negate" every other religion.

You seem to confuse emptiness as a buddhist term with non-existence, like most westerners.

It is self defeating. The "desire" of the Buddhist is to "desire" nothing.

If that's the case, why is Buddhism like chapter 2 in every book on Indian history?
The only aspects of Hinduism that predate Buddhism is the Vedas and some Upanishads.

The reason its always 2nd is that aside from Sikhism(16th CE), Buddhism is the younger religion in India. Especially compared to pre Hinduism religions, the original Ancient Dravidian Religion, Jainism etc.
Hinduism is formed from merging the newly arrived Vedas along with Ancient Dravidian Religions. The population combined from this higher in India, so of course, the majority will be shown more often. And don't forget, most Hindu's sees Buddha as a reincarnation of Vishnu, the 24th avatar.

All false religions are illuminati created...
"Every major religion in the world has been manufactured or infiltrated by the Illuminati to enslave and brainwash society. In essence, religion was the first form of mind control. The indoctrination of the masses by a "Trojan Horse" false religion has allowed the Illuminati to take control and work in secret for many, many years." Link

Is there a true religion?

I would have to say Advaita Vedanta is the true path.

Is there a true religion?
The answer depends on how you define the word "Religion"
Perhaps a better question would be: Is there a true God?
The answer is yes.
I have seen proof of this and KNOW who He is.
Religion and God are complete total opposites.
Religion lies and hates.
God loves and only speaks the truth.
