Alright. Ron Paul sure has a consistent message. I have never denied that. I do have a lot of problems with his crazy ideology, but my opinions on those views are all on various different threads in the ATS databases.

Paul Ryan has been saying these things since before most of America knew who he was!!!! Remind you of anyone?

"Our debt is out of control. What was a fiscal challenge is now a fiscal crisis. We cannot deny it; instead we must, as Americans, confront it responsibly. And that is exactly what Republicans pledge to do."

"I Don't Consult Polls to Tell Me What My Principles Are or Policies Should Be"

"Exploiting people's emotions of fear, envy and anxiety is not hope, it's not change, it's partisanship. We don't need partisanship. We don't need demagoguery. We need solutions."

"Borrowing and spending is not the way to prosperity."

"A free economy and strong communities honor the dignity of every person, rewarding effort with justice, promoting upward mobility, and building solidarity among citizens."

Our debt is out of control yet Ryan voted to increase spending in Afghanistan and keep the troops there? I guess war spending doesn't count, only when money goes to helping poor/old people is it a problem.

Ryan wants to control spending but voted for the bailouts. You need to look at his voting record. votesmart.org... He's a neocon, not a conservative. I'm voting for Gary Johnson the guy that actually cares about the American taxpayer instead of his corporate crony's like Ryan and Mitt.

Yes, Ryan has consistently said these things. But saying it ain't worth squat unless you act on it, so no, he does not remind me of Ron Paul who actually voted as he preached for decades. That's integrity. It can be fairly said that Ryan is a hypocrite. He's been a congressman for 14 years. He's had ample time to prove his chops in terms of fiscal discipline. he has failed miserably.

- Voted for both unfunded wars -- both fiscally irresponsible and warmongering
- Voted for TARP under Bush -- a champion of too big to fail
- Voted for the Bush tax cuts -- still today the single greatest ongoing contributor to the growth of the deficit
- Voted for the Patriot Act every time its come up -- hardly respects freedom and civil liberties
- Voted for the unfunded Medicare Part D under Bush -- another ongoing major budget buster
- Voted AGAINST his on jointly crafted plan as a leading member of the Deficit Commission, even as the plan had 10 dollars in cuts for every 1 dollar increase in revenue (he is a captive of Norquist)

The media is fawning over him, saying he is a deficit hawk and because he a photogenic nice guy. He talks a big game, but votes completely opposite his words.

Oh, and he claims to be a big Ayn Rand champion. Well, he got his education at a public (aka "government") university that he paid for with his Social Security survivor benefits following the death of his father when he was nearing completion of high school. He has lived in Washington for two decades, and has been a congressman since he was 28. His own insurance is paid for for life by the government. He will get a tasty government pension for life.

Small government acolyte my butt. He is as big government as anyone and would be just another joe were it not government assistance and high profile government employment.

Great work! You found yourself some Paul Ryan quotes.

Now read those quotes and look closely at his voting record and tell me what you see.

Us people who have been around the block a few times call it "lip service". It's telling voters what you think they want to hear in order to get their vote. Ryan is a neocon... plain and simple.

Did you intentionally intermix Ron Paul and Paul Ryan's names in the OP in order to confuse people into believing that Paul Ryan and Ron Paul have the same principles?

Paul Ryan isn't in the same league and Ron Paul.

Paul Ryan reminds me of Obama. Not many people have heard of him until recently. He talks a lot of good smack, but looking at his actions/what he's voted for, speak for themselves. Promise a lot, deliver nothing.

Ron Paul = The Real Deal
Paul Ryan = Wolf in sheep's clothing.

p.s. Mitty boy selecting Paul Ryan for VP, only makes me not want to vote at all.

Paul Ryan said: “Ayn Rand, more than anyone else, did a fantastic job of explaining the morality of capitalism, the morality of individualism, and this to me is what matters most.”

Jesus Christ: "Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind, and if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."

I find it mighty interesting that the Ron Paul vote is now being courted. Now helipads and his aides have chosen Paul Ryan that it Somehow a game changer for the Romney supporters. If I were you guys I'd spend my time on the streets and knocking on doors instead of trying to convince ATS members who know exactly who Romney is and who he surrounds himself with

It really does make one wonder if Romney was shooting for a two-fer or a bit of a psy op when he picked Ryan...

Paul Ryan/Ron Paul.

Many similar ideas in a much more appealing/marketable package, minus the kooky.

I wonder if he'll get votes from hapless voters simply not paying attention? Or will they go crazy for him?

You know who else had consistent messages?
napoleon
hitler
stalin
mao
gandhi
Mandela

Obviously a consistent message doesn't mean #.
perhaps you might want to consider the morality of the messenger.
in this case it is severely lacking.
I will have no part of ryans theofascist society.

What astounds me is that people think Ron Paul's views are Kooky and Crazy as another poster in here put it - at all.

If you people would study history and the hows and whys this country was formed, you'd see that Ron Paul's views are not kooky or crazy at all but are 100 % in keeping with the true Republic this country was formed to be.

It's everyone else who has kooky and crazy ideas trying to take this Republic away from We The People. So many grossly uneducated people on here that just don't get it. Why are you people so adamant to defy the Republic and the principles for which it stands? Just what country do you think you are in? Obviously, you have no clue where you live.

P.S. kosmicjack, This wasn't directly directed at you. You just helped remind me that lots of people think Ron Paul's ideas are crazy.. I've read that many times on ATS.

Paul Ryan is an Ayn Rand enthusiast? You don't say? But I thought most politicians were narcissistic sociopaths. Every year it seems they hide this less and less. Indeed, the "illusion" is crumbling.

Paul Ryan is a decent candidate. He definitely strengthened the ticket on first look, but let's not forget.... we are NOT voting for Ryan. We are voting for Romney. Ryan will be neutered in his role as VP. In fact, the Conservatives would have more power with him as a Senator than they will with him as VP. Romney is NOT conservative, and now we have lost a vote by taking Ryan and putting him behind Romney.

This was a sneaky move to neuter a Tea Partier. This is not a win for the Tea Partiers and ultra-conservatives, this is a major loss.

If Romney wins the election, we lose any influence Ryan had before the election.

If Romney loses the election, we still lose any influence Ryan had before the election, and we short-circuit his career.

This was a terrible decision on Ryan's part, but it is a boost for Romney and the establishment in both parties.

These are dangerous times. Riots in Europe. U.S. Government stockpiling ammos, getting riot ready. I don't care who RON PAUL or GARY JOHNSON are, I'm voting for the BEST 2ND AMMENDMENT TICKET THAT ACTUALLY HAS A SHOT AT WINNING. (PERIOD!)

Paul Ryan voted for the Patriot Act, NDAA and the bank bailout. 3 reasons he will never get my vote and yet another reason Romney will never get my vote.

Ron Paul is kooky because he supports the constitution and isn't pro constant war. You are a KOOK now if you don't believe in the patriot act, NDAA and handing all our money to banks. If you even mention the founding fathers you are KOOK!

You know I liked Michelle Bachman until she voted for the Patriot Act. Infact, I was going to throw my entire support behind her (even over Paul!) because I honestly believe that America needs a female president. But she had to ruin that by voting for the Patriot Act and show her true colors. She could have won this election but she CHOSE to sell out.

The Patriot Act was necessary.
