I don't really understand why the US is all surprised that Syria is falling apart, since they started the proxy war against Assad's government.

You are either a kid who cannot spell or someone who does not know the first thing about the world around you. The FSA are murdering anyone who does not have the same stand point as them, including business owners etc. The FSA are hiding amongst the populations like cowards and then blaming the Government for the murders of innocent people.
