I need answers pertaining to something odd that happened yesterday at my work.

That's really horrible, no wonder you're freaking out...

I have no idea if she is schizophrenic but it sounds like it...

I think it would be a good idea to have a word with the police asap, they may already have her on file and if not they will contact the mental health units to make some checks... A threat is a threat and it's better to be safe than sorry....

Work is hard enough without having psychotic clients.... Good luck

You're so right. We open up Tuesday and thats the first thing we're going to do. Even if she is harmless, I don't want to take the chance and have my manager or I feel responsible. Thank you.

Good. I think you are doing the right thing. Especially, since you've posted this on an open forum. IF she did do something that harmed anyone, I guarantee you, what you posted here would get to the eyes and ears of someone in authority. You would then be asked why you didn't report her. Cover your bases, and maybe save others some grief.

Hopefully, she'll get the help she sounds like she needs.....

Im not familiar with the effects of bath salts. Would you snap in and out of it like that if you were in a drug induced psychosis?

All I can say, is that my friend said she was acting all weirded out. She would be fine for a few minutes and then she would start having a full blown conversation with her father, that wasn't even there. I mean he said she was freaking him out.

The bath salts definitely mess with your head and I really hope the op takes proper actions.

I forgot to add that the op said that her hair was a mess to bgin with. Most people all whacked out on drugs do not really care about their physical appearance. Maybe she had an epiphany in front of the mirror and decided to get her hair done. The only problem is, is that she is not mentally stable enough to be out in general public.

Had an experience like that before when I was in high school. I worked at one of the big box stores, in the sports dept. and this little lady came up to the desk, I asked her if I could help with anything....all she did was look up at me and say I am going to kill you.

I really didn't know what to say to that, then she proceeded to laugh and started running out of the store. I just chalked it up to a nutjob. All I did was be careful when going to my car later that evening.


Answers to OP's situation. Just refuse her business and if she shows up again call the cops.

I don't find her as a threat of violence...she doesn't keep it a secret.

She suffers from a traumatic up-bringing, imho.

After receiving only negative attention as a child, she must think negative attention is still good "attention."

She's lonely in a crowded room.

This type of person equates to a true friend, if you can get inside the door.

You're best-off not knocking, but waiting for the door to open.
And when it does, let her know her verbiage tends to make one feel uneasy- like reporting certain behaviors to the proper authorities...

She'll know those words bring the "white coats" and will take her business elsewhere as a result. No harm, no foul. Just an uneasy feeling.

She may not be the monster she wants to portray.

I once volunteered at a soup kitchen. One of the patrons asked me to stick him with a knife in his head...
I asked him if he was sure, he then snapped back into reality.

What's more valuable; one life- or several?

What to do?
Notify the police - just in case (and do it in person, if possible) - and hire security for her next appointment.
You could refuse her service; but hire a security guard all the same.
She probably isn't a real threat to anyone but herself; still, better safe than sorry.

Unless you're in a big city odds are the authorities know this woman well. But I'm glad you're calling, they need to know what she's up to.

Woman almost never go on spree killings, so I don't think there is much danger there. But if she decides to fixate on anyone in your shop they are in for a very bumpy ride.

Had a 60 year old woman who played a clown for kids parties fixate on me for a year in the early 90's. I was a nurse in the behavioral health unit and she took a liking to me during a psychotic episode.

It got so bad she found my house, and I lived 55 miles away.

Eventually the threats from the judge sank in and she left me alone.

But to this day my wife is always on edge when we are in Mankato, she's always looking at who is in the other cars.

I had no idea there were so many chicken****s out there.

Schizophrenia does not mean she is a mass murderer. And the best thing you can come up with is call someone else to do the mop-up or use denial of service.

Whether she's schizo or not, she's made verbal threats. Perhaps nothing, maybe something. The responsible thing to do is report her behavior to the authorities. Perhaps she's harmless; perhaps not. But choosing to report her does not make someone a chicken$hIt coward.
