Does anyone actually stop to ask why this guy was stabbing people instead of instantly jumping on the "guns are heros" bandwagon?

Doe this question imply that there is a good reason for what he did?

Do you have a "Stop a muggin' with some huggin'" bumper sticker on your car?

Say he was poor. Stabbing people doesnt help. Say he was starving. Stabbing people doesnt help. Say he needed work. Stabbing people doesnt help.

Maybe he was just crazy and the "system" didnt help him out? Okay, I can give you that. That still doesnt mean the armed guy who stopped him stabbing people could be removed from the situation and everything will be honky dory.

Just stating all the "facts" I have learned from the gun-phobic.

Every hail-Mary pass they rely on to argue their point: innocent bystanders being shot, many armed citizens just firing all over the place in the "confusion", and of course, the ultimate nonsensical emotional trigger: "think of the children." Won't someone please think of the children?

How deep will the media bury the story of a gun saving lives?

Umm, no of course it doesn't. Did someone say it did?

You don't have to "give me that" because I never suggested that, nor would I.

No of course not, the armed guy was definitely of help, its a good thing he had a gun.

Does your reply have anything to do with my post?

The way I see it, banning fire arms in the US is like banning hammers. A tool is a tool is a tool. Any person with malicious intent can turn any object into a weapon. Getting rid of legal avenues for responsible people to own firearms will not stop a criminal from acquiring said tool, but may in fact embolden the criminals, whom would now know that the potential target is a soft target.

I agree with everything you said, however there's a flaw in the above statement. If guns were illegal completely, then it's true, far less legally produced guns would get through to the black market, however it would open up an enormous underground weapons production and distribution market, and enough would get through to satisfy every criminal who wants them.

Add to that the fact that 100% of those would end up in the hands of violent criminals, and in the end, it would change nothing except make it illegal to defend yourself against them.

ETA: Not to mention that all of the criminals who want guns already have them. There is NO WAY you're going to get those guns turned in willingly. Again, only the law-abiding would turn them in, and that's only if there were no 2nd Amendment.

So let's hear the gun control supporters and main stream media explain this one....lol, you won't hear a word about gun control here. Who knows, maybe knife control now. Or maybe one day someone will attack with a ball bat and we can then go on a government witch hunt for anyone who owns a bat. I hate this government.

If you had watched the news video, you would know that no shots were fired. The mere presence of a gun was enough to convince the attacker to drop his knife.

This is the ultimate argument against gun control/prohibition. The right to defend yourself. If they ever banned them, it would just turn into knife rampages instead of shooting sprees.

This thread is similar to this video. It's a pity the theater violated people's 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, and protect themselves. This is what happens when thugs come in and run into someone with a CCW. You may need to be logged into Youtube to view.

With the amount of guns the Swiss have, they have very little violence. They also don't have issues with gangs and hate groups.

Banning firearms isn't really the answer, the root of the problem is American culture. Fix that first.

We should look into what is causing people to flip out and shoot others, stop sweeping the problem under the carpet.

Shhhh, don't tell this to the gun-grabbers... They will claim guns posses people and make them do evil things, including eating babies after riddling them with bullets...

Seems to happen far more often than shooting sprees.

I've never lived in any state or city that had a shooting spree but Iived in several areas that have had stabbing sprees.

Too common if you ask me. We need background checks for knives. Maybe permits and classes for people who wish to carry knives. Why anyone needs to carry a knife I'll never know. Like everybody's camping all the time?

Lets not forget fire... alot of fire bugs out there, maybe its time to start to issue licences for matches and lighters to get these arsons under control. Not far from me, there is a guy on trial for several arsons, one of which resulted in two deaths. He held the city of Northampton Ma in fear untill he was caught.

And in my immediate area there has been a rash of Molotov cocktail attacks.. fire bombings!www.masslive.com...

All of this in Massachusetts, a state with very strict gun laws.

Totally. Fire is a weapon of mass destruction.

People should have to call the cops when they need to light a cigar and then only be allowed to smoke it under direct supervision in a controlled fire-retardant room.

Think of the children.

That only turned out the way it did because of dumb luck. 'Dumb', as in the dumb, amateur crims involved. 'Luck', as in how lucky everyone was that none of the "Born To Lose" robbers had the nous to fire back!

The Yan'kee can skew even the most obviously ambiguous scenario in favour of whatever inane platform they're promoting.
