So I just can't resist. I see sane people and I want to party with them.

So we agree it is a private business, ok. Then since we just went through the greatest financial crisis of the last 80 years....would it not make sense to audit them, as all other financial entities have been.

What exactly would make them exempt? some silly notion that they are above the law?

They may say that. Hell they can even believe that....The reality is that no mortal man is above the law of another when he is in his house.

The US is OUR country. Contrary to popular belief on their side....they do not in fact own a country of millions. They are here only as long as we are obliged to have them. Like Iceland, we too can say no thank you and good day.

The fact that the minions come out of the wood work to TRY and defend a fraudulent BUSSINESS, guilty of negligence at least and despite over all support of their appropriate dose of law, is an insult to say the least.

They are not operating within Genghis khan´s empire. We are a modern DEMOCRATIC society and when we decide by a democratic process they must either comply or leave.

Who is doing the audit? Well that would be the American people through our REPRESENTITIVES. You can't say that the boogey men are out to get them. Our elected officials are representing our will. So by defying it you are in fact defying the will of the American public and everything American. Not Ron Paul. The whole of our country is conducting the audit. That is our will. Like it or leave it.

They have stolen enough. Get out of our country or diversify. That or lose your business like many Americans have because of the fraud the FED has spear headed.

Oh and if they leave, check their suit cases for our stuff, they are pathological at this point and can't really help it. Our wealth is more appealing than theirs. They don't like real capitalist sates. Monopolies are in fact not conducive to capitalism. They favor corporatism, which is what we got. Public subsidy for private profit. Theft by corporate welfare. Not success by being better. Just success by being a favorite. That is anti American. Don't defend them.

EDIT:

oh op....if you do answer this post or any others after....could you not start with

"ahhhh....(insert words into other persons mouth)"

This is EXACTLY why we need the Libertarians! They are against anti-monopoly laws and can protect private business from these big government fascists!

As much as I hate current administration I still think anti monopoly laws are a good thing. Monopoly does nothing good and is nearly always abused by those who have monopoly.

this business is under contract with the gov't!!!
that contract, by what I understand, is about to expire!!
are you saying that the gov't has an oblilgation to renew it, just so the poor, poor fed, won't fail??

How about the US government just "fire" the federal reserve?

That's not shutting a business down, that's just no longer using it's services.

Firing the fed from their service to the US government would in effect shut down the FED, as their only business is to run the finances of the United States.

So, OP, do you have a problem with the government "firing" the fed?

This is all semantics. I realize the OP is simply calling Ron Paul and Libertarians hypocrites for wanting to shut down the fed, when they say the government shouldn't be involved in private business, when the fed is private.

But, like I said, that's just semantics. Getting rid of the fed is not meddling in private business. If a customer (the US government) no longer wants the services of a private business (the FED) they simply simply get rid of them. That's what getting rid of the fed would do.

I've looked into it a little more....
the charter might not be ending this year.
instead, it might be open ended, but congress can vote to dissolve it at any time...or.....
the fed can forfeit it by illegal acts..

why do they want to audit the fed???
is it because congress wants to learn just who the beneficiaries of all the money that the fed has gone through in tarp, and other bailout programs...'
is it to find out just who in what countries recieved that money??

I remember seeing a video where congress was complaining to a fed member, that at least some of this money was given out without congressional approval...if it was, well, that is illegal.

maybe the fed forfeited their position???

Libertarians = Unions which I support yet National Socialism is the main form of Liberalism which is how Nazi (Which is the actual word National Socialism translated in the German language which was the most fascist group known in modern history. I see much irony in your statement. the truth is there is fascism in both groups. But that's because we allowed our Feds to get too much power and out of control. And how safe would our country be without some federal agencies? you just change the name of the infrastructure but it's followed by more corrupted people applying for those positions. Many of these wealthy greedy dot com yuppie types were former hippies preaching communism and living on communes only to become even fatter cats than their rich politician Dads or possibly greedy corporate lawyers they opposed then grew up and became greedier. A lawyer is doing what he does. it's often not a choice and not all Lawyers are bad but these yuppie corporate guys chose to be selfish greedy types over time. I'm not going off topic, just pointing out your statement was way to much of "Pie in the sky" solution by changing the infrastructure of our current Government. We should shrink it, put restrictions on power. The People are the Government.. the Government is not a separate entity doing what it pleases. Those we call "Government" such as Presidents, Attorney Generals, Post Masters, Governors, Senators are nothing more than representatives. That's it. Obama is a representative.
