I see your point but if this is true then

Where are the housemates?
Who are they? And...
What is their mission? (If any)
Why havn't they come forward? (If they had nothing to do with it)

Maybe all three were involved Friday night but only Holmes got caught

There is also NO REASON WHATSOEVER to keep the old details especially if it turns out that stuff reported early on is not accurate.

For example, CNN could report about some accident reporting 2 injured within a few minutes. 30 minutes later story gets updated by the editor because more fatalities are becoming known...in time, the old cache will be gone.
WOW. I... really?? Is anyone actually reading this thread? It seems the point is being missed by a large number of responders, and it just serves to confirm why this is such a bad trend.

Using the logic above, I should be able to go into reels of microfilm or the digital equivalent and just switch things around as I see fit and with no paper (or digital trail). You mess with that, and you mess with reality. Outlets have already become lazy or plain contrary to citing sources and printing a lot of dubious claims by anonymous "officials".

For example, CNN shouldn't be reporting the number of injuries in an accident if they do not have confirmed information. Secondly, if the story changes, there should be a notation or a NEW article stating this. But to go back and silently edit already published material is BAD. BAD. Why is that not clicking with people?

Thank you, Thank you and Thank you..

It's almost disheartening to see that not only did I make a thread about this phenomena but the thread itself is proving to me beyond a doubt that what they are doing works.. And people think it is okay!

I couldn't have said it any better..

I'm so glad I'm not completely alone in thinking that this is totally messed up.

You haven't been paying attention. Just because one news organization silently updates their story to remove a piece of information that might not be factual doesn't mean that every other news organization out there follows suit. If they all did that then we would never get any actual news because they'd be too busy going back to already published stories and scrubbing them. When a piece of information just vanishes from existence within a few days from all the MSM sources and not one of them posts a retraction, that's no reason to raise suspicion?

Going back to your example from the AP corrections page on incorrectly reporting what his school presentation was back in May. If I Google "Aurora Micro DNA Biomarkings" (the false presentation topic) I still get tons of news articles from MSM sources that have not been edited to remove that false piece of information. Fact is, it is much easier to post a retraction than it is to go back to all the places where that bad piece of information existed and remove it like it was never there to begin with. Especially when it is something insignificant like the subject of his last college presentation.

I think you've proven my point.

It hasn't been scrubbed from every story has it? It's easy enough to find it.

As far as ALL the MSM, well, first you assume it WAS in all the MSM, seen no proof of that, then you have to assume that it's actually been scrubbed from then you have to assume that the MSM is LESS likely to make corrections, which seems an odd assumption, as they have more money and staff to fix things, not less.

So...?
all of it, we've seen no proof of that,

Let's define easy enough to find.

The fact is that it is not easy to find? The OP has clarified that and many have shown supporting evidence.
If your argument is that unless every accusation sticks then none do that's even more questionable.

But lets be properly critical of your statements one by one,

"As far as ALL the MSM, well, first you assume it WAS in all the MSM, seen no proof of that"
Your argument here is all or nothing.. Poor journalism can explain both points here so it's a wasted argument.

"you have to assume that the MSM is LESS likely to make corrections"
WHY?

Some of you just have to jump on conspiracies no matter what.

This guy is a psychopath, no telling how long he has been this way under the radar.

He used his Student Loans to buy everything and had it shipped to the university.

The booby trapped apartment was amateur but deadly intended to kill probably the police when they arrived to investigate.

And this guy is a Wall Street Protestor Occupier, Photos of him being arrested by the Police on the Brooklyn Bridge have been found. Its the same exact face.

When this Cinema posted their signs saying "no guns allowed" meaning normal conceal carry permit guns for normal people, they then should have assumed full responsibility for all safety.

On the same day as this shooting there was another in the same state, a recent released convict, got hold of a gun he didnt own, and went to church to shoot everyone, when he walked in to start shooting he got off one round and then one of the churchgoes who was carrying a concealed weapon dropped him with one shot before he could go on a rampage.

Guns do not kill people, its the person who pulls the trigger who makes that choice.

In Switzerland this kind of behavior is almost non existent, as the law says every Swiss Citizen must maintain several guns, they take classes on how to handle them, and that is the law. Anyone in Switzerland who is going to commit a crime knows full well most of the bystanders and or victims will all be packing.

This guy Holmes is a Nutcase, and in world of Billions there are going to be individuals like this.

And thank you for being patient and consistent in trying to re-explain the issue throughout. Total subversion of media is bad enough, but the lack of understanding regarding the implications is beyond frustrating. I'm trying to hold onto the last thread of hope I have for humanity, and this blindness is wearing it to microscopic thinness.

You're right, it is easy to find, but I defy you to find a single article on a Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS news service that still mentions it. I never said it was scrubbed from everything, but it was scrubbed from the news services which are the easiest to manipulate. Here, I have another one for you. Google "Holmes two roommates" (here's a direct link to the results). The 9th entry from the top comes from an article on TIME's website and in the summary under the result you can see mention of the two roommates. When you click the link any mention of that has been scrubbed from the article. When you try to view the cached version of the page, you get a 404 error.

You keep talking about proof and there have been plenty of examples like the one above where the wording was removed. You then make the assumption that it was removed because it was false information. Exactly how many times does a piece of information have to be repeated/published before it becomes established as a "fact"? When all the news agencies are singing the same tune? I don't buy into that.

Thinking about it from a management standpoint within an organization, whenever major change is enacted, management gets together and comes up with a communication plan. "How are we going to disseminate this information so that we get the least possible blow-back, and how are we going to answer the tough questions? We all need to be singing the same tune and delivering a consistent message." At what point then are you going to get the most truthful information about said change? Most likely before that communication plan has been developed and management is in a state where they don't know 100% what they should or shouldn't say. Generally the fail-safe is to say they aren't allowed to discuss it yet, but on the off chance you get them to engage you in that conversation, they could let something slip that they aren't supposed to.

Applying this same methodology to media organizations, in some instances you're probably going to be getting some facts you shouldn't know about early on in the reporting of a breaking news case before the higher ups can convene and discuss what should and shouldn't be reported on, and if something has already been reported on that shouldn't, it needs to disappear. That's not to say that errors aren't common early on in reporting either, but again when a line is being physically removed with no explanation on not just one, but many different articles, it leaves one to wonder.

James Holmes reportedly known as "dolt" as intern, calling into question academic credentials
www.cbsnews.com...

Oh now he was a dolt?

They give dolts these major scholarships now do they?

Given the presentation to read?

At the Salk Institute, Holmes acquired a reputation as a "dolt," Eagleman told the newspaper, adding that he didn't know Holmes. Eagleman worked as a researcher at the Salk Institute when Holmes was there, according to the paper.

A widely circulated video of Holmes making a presentation at the institute was misleading, Eagleman said, saying the words were prepared by his advisers.

"He was just given the presentation to read," Eagleman told USA Today. "He wasn't any sort of superscientist when he was 18."/ex]]

(The OWS rumor is.... a fallacy... but I'm happy to be proven wrong)

ETA: The claims by one person, whose opinion it is that Holmes is a "dolt" or in some other descriptor unintelligent is completely absurd. This guy was selected to be one of 6 people for this funded research program. Amazing that I see a lot of posts stating his alleged idiocy, but very few regarding the actual program he was in.

For the record, I don't approve of the 'msm' being sloppy and not reporting when they make changes, but I don't think we will ever get the permanency of print media back. We're trapped with these living documents and really our only defense is to use things like the way back when machine and our own logs and screenshots of articles.

I think the OP's point regarding media is being over shadowed by the hysteria of this whole James Holmes thing and people scrambling for answers.

EXCLUSIVE: Movie massacre suspect sent chilling notebook to psychiatrist before attack

Read more: www.foxnews.com...

– James Holmes, the accused gunman in last Friday's midnight movie massacre in Colorado, mailed a notebook "full of details about how he was going to kill people" to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack, but the parcel sat unopened in a mailroom for as long as a week before its discovery Monday, a law enforcement source told FoxNews.com.

Police and FBI agents were called to the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus in Aurora on Monday morning after the psychiatrist, who is also a professor at the school, reported receiving a package believed to be from the suspect. Although that package turned out to be from someone else and harmless, a search of the Campus Services' mailroom turned up another package sent to the psychiatrist with Holmes’ name in the return address, the source told FoxNews.com.

A second law enforcement source said authorities got a warrant from a county judge and took the package away Monday night. When it was opened, its chilling contents were revealed.

“There were drawings of what he was going to do in it--drawings and illustrations of the massacre."

- Law enorcement source

“Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people,” the source told FoxNews.com. “There were drawings of what he was going to do in it - drawings and illustrations of the massacre."

MSNBC reports that public records show Holmes lived with two roommates at the apartment, which is reserved for students, faculty and staff from the medical campus.

But when you click on the link in the quote, the information is no longer there. Ok fine, so it says they edited it on Friday-- whatever. So I click on the link to the "cache" version and whadda-ya-know? 404'd (cache deleted)

How.... convenient... Those darn pesky anonymous "sources" are everywhere, aren't they?? I give up. There is so much proven false information swirling around, that I find it very difficult to just take Fox's word for it. This guy's profile has been molded, intimated, and manipulated for the single purpose of society's unanimous and passionate vote of guilt beyond reasonable doubt. The creepier and more salacious these accounts can be, the better!

Let's burn the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" with our torches and shred facts with our pitchforks!
