I agree you should not force teachings on others. Frankly, I think doing that, brings out the exact opposite of what is teached. Everyone should find their own way.
With the Gay thing, I was just stating my opinion on it. Thats all.

Men decided war was profitable and a foothold into policy of other countries, one dude took it too far though and things got so out of control that women had to step out of subjugation and keep 'Merica running while all the boys zig zagged through mine fields and dodged bombs etc. I'll tell my Grandmother to expect your thank-you letter.

ETA You can blame Hitler for upsetting traditional roles. But more accurately you can just realize that trying to control people and force them into roles they don't want... only works for so long.

This is really, really silly. Civilizations fall for far more complicated reasons than acceptance of homosexuality. It usually has to do with greed and lack of good leadership (or natural disasters). People were killed off, or moved on - that's where you are seeing demographics go down.

There are countries existing today that accept homosexuality. Canada seems to be doing okay - I don't see their demographics going down.

But you are forcing the teachings onto your child? You've just bassicaly said that the teachings that you are forcing onto your child will turn them homosexual!

This thread is so full of stupidity, confirmation bias and privilege it is staggering.

No society has fallen because of "Teh Gays".. Rome fell because wealth became concentrated amongst a very few, this caused decline, then the wealthy decided to make a play for the throne-the empire split into 3 and it fought itself to death. All that remains of the Roman Empire is the Catholic Church.

There is no Gay Agenda. The movies and TV producers realized there is a huge audience that has been ignored. So decades of the gay population being portrayed only as drag queens, pedophiles or pervert dieing of AIDS shifted, and lo behold, they became human again. The fact that it stands out in Television to you people is because of confirmation bias. There are 3-4 gay COUPLES on shows across a couple hundred that air on cable, but those 3-4 stand out like a throbbing thorn in your... side.

Even today it is common for bars where nothing but drinking and pool playing is going on (and possibly that horrible 'Call me, maybe' song is playing) get raided. Every day there are hate crimes perpetrated-I define hate crime as involving an attack of some sort that is vicious, done for the sake of lashing out at a group of people. Robbery/Muggings, random assaults, they are not hate crimes. But kids beaten to death in parking lots because some stupid parent indoctrinated their children into a belief in broken and outdated mythologies-that is a hate crime.

We tolerate the Westboro Babtist Church because it is important to maintain a society where even the wrong things can be said. Likewise, it is important to ridicule ideas that are simply wrong.

For those of you making claims about this so called "Gay Agenda" I invite you to go read a damn book.

Trying to guide my children the best I can while they are young.
I meant not forcing teaching as in not forcing biblical prophecy down their throats.
When you were growing up, your parents always gave the best advice right???

Also to note-there is no such thing as conversion.
Nobody chooses to be gay or straight. Those who can switch back and forth are called Bisexual.
For the other two-the idea of it just never enters the mind. The attraction just isn't there. It DOES NOT HAPPEN.

Close your eyes and imagine a room full of attractive people. Men, Women-all body types.
What is emphasized? Did you chose to imagine that way?

Or: Think of the last time you entered a room full of people. You saw some attractive people. Where did your eyes wonder to? Did you chose that?

On the average day are you even tempted by the opposite persuasion? Are you EVER tempted? Or do you only think about anything Gay if a news story comes on television or a thread like this?

My parents sent me to catholic school so that i could make up my own mind about religion, and i did, i chose to become atheist.
My parents did not shelter me from certain people from society (apart from murderers and pedophiles, the extreams if you will) so that i could make my decision on who i will be. And after a few years of mischeif (hell, every teenager/child gets into trouble, its part of growing up) i became a adverage person, giving back to society through work and what not.

I did not become 'tainted' by homosexuals, as you fear for yoru children.
I did not become a wild criminal because of the people i knew and spoke to.
I did not become a racist because i was used to hanging out and talking to others from different ethnic background than my own from an early age.
I did not become homophobic because i was confertable speaking to homosexuals, because i have met and spoken to so many different people with different views and ways of life.
I became a adverage english man. And why? Because i am used to speaking to different people, different backgrounds, different ethnicity, different sexual oriontation, different religions, different genders.

This is what it means to be from the UK/USA/Europe. We have always been nations built on immigration and trade (especialy the UK, being an island means that we had to meet and talk to people from all over the world. And the USA, for being built on immigration)

If you hide your child away from certain aspects of society, they won't know how to talk to them because they will feel unconfertable. This forces them to make a choice between the two, join then or fight them, either from a distance, hiding their feelings in themselves (homosexuals who are never able to come out because of fear of the people they know leaving them in resentment), or in practice (becoming homosexual, or beating people for being homosexual).
