No cowboy hat or spurs needed. The spurs would mess up my gas and brake pedals, and I prefer a ball cap or a booney hat. I also keep my guns close and loaded.

Switzerland has quite a responsible attitude to gun ownership. At least they are all trained to use their weapons and they are military issued. en.wikipedia.org...

Exactly. If you decide to flip out and kill people you can just walk into a gun shop and LEGALLY buy a gun. Then you can take that legal gun into your nearest mall, college , school or university and kill people.

Legally.

Murder is illegal. It doesn't matter whether you bought the gun legally or not.

You also have the most notoriously impirialistic and psychopathically criminal government in the history of mankind!

The best change you could make would be to have every reasonably aged male (15-16 maybe) and any female of the same age that wishes to receive one, should be given proper training and it should be required that all who pass the training program own and preferably carry a gun. People who fail the course should not be allowed to own a gun. (given the chance to retake the test once a year)

On the surface it may seem like a bad idea to have so many young people with weapons, but the training would weed out anyone who is not ready to carry a gun. The shear amount of trained capable gun carriers would reduce the amount of crime immediately.

I believe a Scandinavian country already implements a similar program (Sweden maybe, cant remember).

Edit: This training should not be done by a government agency, but by experienced professionals in the community.

All of the guns and ammunition should be melted down into scrap which is used to fashion swords and shields. Then we can go back to fighting like men. Everyone above the age of 18 should be allowed to wear a sword at all times. Edged weapons training would be given in high school as a mandatory requirement. Bows and crossbows can be used for hunting but their use is heavily restricted.

It would bring honor to our population and teach people to man up and take responsibility for their own security. It would also make gang fights and police shootouts much more entertaining.

Some good ideas there...i think the cops or ex service men would be good for the training of normal people though E

If the citizens in that theater were armed, or a few at least, then this guy would have been stopped. Normally just one but I say few since the guy was wearing armor.

The idea is noble. But we would be invaded in the first 24 hours. What would our swords do against their rifles, grenades and bombs? (and that's just a ground scrimmage)
