To me, those are some pretty HEAVY words coming from a seemingly confident POTUS. I do not think that Obama would put his political neck out there like that unless he and the Democratic machine have something more than what Mitt Romney might be hiding.

The shocking thing is that he would put this out there before the RNC, while the Republicans still have time to select another candidate.

If the Obama and Democrat team have damning accusations for Romney, they would surely wait until he was the nominee and then crush him. Crushing him now leaves the Republicans a chance to save face and pick a new candidate.

Maybe I'm just wishful thinking for Ron Paul! I'd love to see Romney crushed before the RNC, and Ron Paul as the only viable candidate left.

It makes perfect sense, Romney has been racking in lots of money. If he suddenly wasn't the candidate, the new one would be a couple of months behind on fundraising.

But wait a month, the convention is over, and they would be even further behind. Seems like a bad idea to shoot your silver bullet now, why not wait a month?

If we are going to talk about tax reports and money..

Then lets see how Obama is a millionaire.. Seeing how he never has held a real job.

Why now ?
Because if Mittens is eliminated before the convention your talking about a brokered convention which will leave
2 months till the election. Basicly starting from the beginning again. Finding a new candidate and raising money.
The GOP shot it self in the foot with Mccain/ Palin in 2008 again in 2012 with Mittens, they knew where this was going. And we all knew Obama was going to get reelected.
This over confident charade is a big gamble and al the bases are covered.
All the GOP candidates suspending their campaigns and not concedeing.
The MSM down playing and ignoring Paul.
The GOP putting up every road block for Paul.
Mittens winning the most delegates.
It all has been planned from day 1.

Please forgive me, I'd like to post something I've posted in a similar thread. I don't know if that's a violation of T&C, if it is please get it removed.

I know you've heard about The Washington Post fact checking article on Romney and Bain. Here's another one that adds a discussion of Obama's ads claiming Romney sent jobs off-shore. The ads were based on a Post article. (That's what's being referred to in this excerpt.)

(This is where the paper's quote begins)The Obama campaign moved quickly to define what the article said, claiming that this transfer of jobs took place while Romney ran Bain. That’s not what the original article said.

Yet the campaign clearly seized on this report because their interpretation fit with a long-term “outsourcing” attack they have waged against Romney. One of their outsourcing ads before the article ran, in fact, earned Four Pinocchios. These new ads would not fare much better; there is little in the Post article that backs up the Obama campaign’s spin.

(Our colleagues at FactCheck.org have also offered their own analysis of the Obama outsourcing ads and the issues raised in The Post’s article, saying “some of the claims in the ads are untrue, and others are thinly supported.” The Obama campaign did not dispute the details of their analysis, except to once again claim that Romney had an active role in Bain after he left to run the Salt Lake City Olympics in 1999--a claim that FactCheck.org quickly debunked. We came to the same conclusion in January. There is no evidence that Romney played a role in Bain decisions after he left to run the Olympics.) (This is where the paper's quote ends.)

Fact Checking

The Washington Post is a liberal paper, supporting Obama. When it gives his claims three and four Pinocchios out of four, it seems reasonable to believe that the Obama claims are wrong.

I wish some people in this thread would just present some evidence that hasn't already been shown to be false. Stop repeating claims based on nothing but campaign attacks. It's no way to discuss something or to learn.

Forgive me, but I'm getting frustrated. I thought ATSers could weigh evidence and reach conclusions based on logic. It's not fun dealing with human tape recorders.

This will not satisfy anyone, but it is not intended to. I simply want the discussion to be moved to a higher level by getting additional information thrown in the mix. This statement was made by a former IRS Commissioner:

I have reviewed Governor and Mrs. Romney’s joint tax return for 2010, including returns for the Ann and Mitt Romney Family Trust, the Ann D. Romney Blind Trust, and the W. Mitt Romney Blind Trust. I have also reviewed the return in process for 2011. These returns reflect the complexity of our tax laws and the types of investment activity that I would anticipate for persons in their circumstances. There is no indication or suggestion of any tax-motivated or aggressive tax planning activities. In my judgment, they have fully satisfied their responsibilities as taxpayers. They have done so by relying on a highly reputable return preparer and other advisors, who have in turn relied primarily on information provided by third parties to them and to the IRS. The end result of that process has been returns that include a multitude of schedules, IRS forms and accompanying statements that provide appropriate transparency and the proper payment of taxes that Governor and Mrs. Romney owe under current law. (emphasis added)

Former IRS Commissioner

Pot calling the kettle black, Mr. Obama.

Surely this must be the most insane election in American history. It's not even an election.....I take that back...it's just a soap opera.....

It's not like Romney doesn't have enough ammo to fire back at Obama with. I mean, really. If Obama wants to play, then Romney could pummel him. The problem is, the American public doesn't seem to give a rat's ass what Obama has done.....so do you think it's really gonna matter to the Republican voters what skeletons their candidate has in his closet?

This is the theater of the absurd. Step right up, ladies and gentlemen.....admission is free.

Such a deal.

Whats Ironic to me about this News is the FACT that if the Reps had gone with Ron Paul as their Presidential Nominee, Obama and the Dems would have absolutely NO REASONS to Attack Ron Paul's Platform , and would of been Smoked in the Nov. Elections . Romney on the other hand is a Bought and Paid for Clown who to most aware Americans , would NEVER get their Vote.........

That pales in comparison to the damage they did to themselves with the blatant election fraud and their shenanigans at the caucuses this election.

Romney should be in trouble.

I don't think a sociopath should have the opportunity to become president.

Yeah Obama sucks....it's true, but if the choice is between him and a man with no moral compass that is potentially capable of doing pretty much anything without remorse...Obama's the choice for me.

Besides who can really take a man named Mitt seriously? It's as silly as Fuzzy Zoeller running for president.

I know, I know someone is going to call me a liberal or some other label. When I register to vote I'm forced to choose....however I don't associate with either party as I prefer not to be associated with polarized fanatics.

I'm a moderate who actually thinks before he votes.

Say what you will, but most presidents are average at best, and I really believe we shouldn't elect a crazy person.

Odd that they are drinking tea at 3 together,
amongst other things. In the meantime, you all falling for
the old adage "Horse and Pony Show."
I'll reference him again...
"Washington D.C. is 60 Square Miles Surrounded by Reality- Donald Rumsfeld.

Also George Carlin, " It is one big club, AND YOU ARE NOT IN IT."

Here is a refreshing link to that material :www.youtube.com...

I am dismayed at myself for being so cynical, but lets face it, the (Mis)Leaders in Washington,D.C.
have put us into BANCKRUPTCY 16 TRILLION AND COUNTING.

The Standard of living for us is going down folks, but not for them.
They continue to wipe their asses with taxpayer money, blood, sweat, and tears.
It is disgraceful,unacceptable, and treacherous.

To just consider how many men and women have given their lives for this country, and I mean
died a slow and agonizing painful death all for the future this great nation, their families, friends,
and the world at large compels me to speak out.

Mark my words, There will be Hell to pay by those who willfully and with full knowledge
have or intend to achieve personal gain at the expense of The Citizens of The United States of America.
That is Non-Negotiable and there will be no dissent.

I'm not sure I understand you.

I don't think a sociopath should have the opportunity to become president. . . . a man with no moral compass. . . polarized fanatics.
Are you talking about MITT Romney, the guy who is running for President? A sociopath who donated 1/6th of his income to charities? A man who saved the Olympics, served as a Governor, and run a successful business without any clear evidence of psychopathy? A man so psychopathic that he can't even get a criminal record? A polarized fanatic who is seen as not very conservative by his party? THAT Mitt Romney?

Forgive me for doubting you, but I would like to see some serious evidence for those charges.

Yeah that Mitt Romney....do a search. I'm not exactly the only one that feels this way.

I wouldn't trust him to watch my house let alone my country.

Please don't confuse sociopathy with psychopathy as they are quite different.....

Did you know that Romney is actually worth over 4 billion dollars far above what he claims of a few hundred million? That's what this story and not wanting to reveal his tax history is really all about.

Romney never had a chance to begin with.
Even his fellow GOP members called him a snake during the primaries.

The only chance they had was with RP and unfortunately they blew their load on this Mitt joker.

Your kidding right?

Bain Capital? Venture Capitalism or should I say Vulture Capitalism.

Do you know about the Slush and Flush Account?

How about the Slush and Hush Account?

No doubt you are familiar with the latter.
