Thanks Mike. I looked back and forth between all of the avi's everyone did, and finally settled on the first one you did. I think it encompasses what I was thinking the best. But I'm going to keep BFFT's idea as an occasional switch, because I really like both of them. Thanks again guys.

Hi and thanks Purple Chitten for suggesting I come here to get an avatar of my very own! How do I get started? Don't seem to be able to upload images from my iPad so any help v much appreciated!

Something feminine and maybe involving indigo/ blues are my only real preferences, if you need to know them at this stage!

Look forward to hearing from you or any other kind soul willing to help!

And yeah, I don't mind if members use something or not. For me, it's a break from reading poli threads and some of the other madness -- especially these days when I not only have to read 'em, sometimes I have to be a mod in 'em. This thread is a great place to relax and just enjoy some cool art and cool people.

In the 146 pages, I think there was only one post ever removed

hmmmm should be a very interesting process! I'm not good with non-pc operations, but I think FortAnthem may be.

We'll have to be sure to post yours as the http image instead of the pic image so the codes can be used instead of download/upload/submit

Hello Friends

I LOVE this contest and wish I could try my hand at creating one. I don't need any details because I probably won't be able to figure it out well enough to compete, but what are you using to make these? Paint? something else? If it's discussed else where can you point me there?

I wonder how many will enter...Is this the the first art contest like this on ats? It's a hell-a great idea

My parents were in a CB club when I was very small and my CB handle was Yakky (because I never shut up) and it was a yellow cute baby bird embroirdered on my CB club vest.

Like tweety with an attitude.

Can you do something like that?

but what are you using to make these? Paint? something else?

i cant really say as i don't know, but ive heard g.i.m.p. mentioned a few times.
www.gimp.org... i used to use it alot, i think the user interface is terrible but once you get used to it, its very goo and of coarse its free.
www.getpaint.net...
if youre just starting out i'd reccomend paint.net.its like microsoft paint but a thousand times better. and also free.

my personal favourite is painttoolSAI, but thats not free.

added some texture on the background. I like it a little better:

Changed the rendering to "poster" instead of "cutout". It is how i get the photo of the CB to blend with the cartoon birdie. (for those of you wanting to swap tips).

Copy this link for a blank avatar (remove the space)

Then go to TOOLS+ from the menu at the top of the page

Then scroll down to the box titled YOUR AVATAR and paste the link and click SUBMIT

Then copy this link for your picture

/files/img/ld50a03985.png

and go back to TOOLS+

Paste it into the section titled YOUR BACKGROUND IMAGE and click submit
